Mike Trout is the JJ Watt of baseball. Monumental start to their careers with the accolades to back up their play, couldn't stay healthy in the later half of their prime, but still amazing when they were in the game. Sad that Trout never got to win a playoff series though.
One of the most unbelievable athletes of all time. He’d probably be at/over 100 fWAR and approaching 500 home runs at just 33 years old with another 5 or so years of production remaining. Hopefully he can at least come back as a DH for a couple years
I know a lot of people might say that Mike Trout is that good half because he’s always injured. But when Mike is healthy he is a hall of fame caliber player. It’s sad to see Trout’s career being wasted and he should move on from the team. But I don’t think he will because he wants to try and win there in Anaheim. Which is commendable but his career is going to be wasted if he stays which is sad to see happen to such a great talent like Mike. I hope the best for him.
Trout is still my goat. 8 years is a long enough prime for me to say that he's the best I've seen, and he did it during the most difficult time for hitters ever. Judge has a shot, but he has to be a much better hitter given trouts defense, and shohei is a given if he continues pitching, but if he's only dh from now on i don't think he reaches trout. Prime trout was absolutely nuts, a 5 tool player for a decade
The Real Question what if the Angels owners didn’t operate by profiting mainly on prospects and having a championship team they haven’t made it far since the last owner Walt Disney
Someone needs to investigate the Angels. Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Albert Pujols, Etc. all players who have been injured most of their angels careers. I don’t think it’s intentional but having 3 superstars all get injured while they’re playing for you for multiple seasons just screams incompetence at best to me.
oh i can add more like Rendon (HORRIBLE), Mo Vaughn (TERRIBLE), JOSH HAMILTON, MAT HARVEY TYLER SKAGGS (ALL UNFORTUNATE🙏🏽) BUT YES ONE OF THE MOST INCOMPETENT FRANCHISES IN ALL PRO SPORTS EASILYYYYY
@@Darthvader-oc5tp I’m a Yankee fan since 1995 so I see the difference between a team being run to WIN vs just make money bc since Steinbrenner died his kids have just made so many incompetent decisions and just don’t care
@@GunnShotVisuals yea, I was more saying their strength and conditioning staff seems incompetent to allow so many players be injured for so many seasons. But that does kinda go all the way up to greedy ownership not wanting to pay for top notch staff.
@@nastyeggplant Yea they should traded both of them 3 years ago after that 1st ohtani mvp - we dont know ißtill f hell stay healthy and his hype was at an alltime high next 2 seasons but angels had ALL the leverage 3 years ago - horrible management rendon was such a disappointment too - best moves i ever saw them make was locking up trout and vlad gurerro
The fact that we think a player was supposed to get 6 MVPS in an 8 yr span and only walked away with 3 is so atrocious and it only does a disservice to the game and the history books alike. 3 in 8 doesn't show nearly the dominance that 6 out of 8 does and you do it to one of the most significant players in the history of the sport. And I'm not even an Angels fan!
They had potential owner just spent his money the wrong ways smh idk he was loyal to a fault and the money was great but yea - he couldve been in a place with REAL fanbase and franchise that actually knows how to win
Trout should not of went to that NCAA Championship game to see Caitlin Clark and her Iowa Hawkeyes versus the South Carolina Gamecocks. He could of saved that energy to prepare himself carefully for the upcoming MLB season. Must have a little kid in him to make such petty decisions.
I get the stats and accolades but personally I have always felt he was overhyped and was expected to be the savior of his organization who didn't bother to put people around him until shohei showed up and ran circles around this dude after that he should've retired he's not helping himself being so injury prone and barely playing on top of that the angels don't care so what is left, to end up as the biggest what could've been, he's washed at this point I'm sorry if you think otherwise but tomorrow he could be up for free agency and me if I was a GM wouldn't bother as his best days are clearly behind him he's not the same guy he was period

Great comparison
Trout hasn’t even won a playoff GAME
Clay Matthews!
He may be the most consistently great players that the MLB will ever see (and the greatest player to never win the Wd Series)

Can't even imagine what his numbers could be if he played like 140-150 games a year since 2020
Same for Griffey - best 2 CLEAN outfielders of my lifetime same sad story of injuries

Even with all the injuries he's only 33. If he even has decent health for the rest of his career he's got a real shot at 500 hr

How the Angel's didn't trade Ohtani and then let him walk I'll never understand.
Couldve gotten something out of them instead of letting ohtani walk while holding trout hostage out of loyalty

What were the offers?
From ‘21-‘24 he struck out 27% of the time. I wonder how that compares to the rest of the league.
It's roughly 5% higher than MLB average.

And this is why Juice should be legal across all sports. Longevity!
Nevermind the side effects 🤦🏽♂
He knows playing for a big club is too much pressure
mike trout would be a champion if he played for the actual team in la
I want a chunky DH Mike Trout that hits 30-50 home runs for 5 more years. Get to 500 like Big Papi and retire.
Are we going to talk about the fact that only 3 percent of you are subscribed?
He’s like kojima of one outs
Nothing about his career has been average. Let’s see what he can do. I have high hopes for him!
Should they just trade him to the Dodgers???
love trout but he deserves a way better team
Mike trout isn’t a what if he is a first ballot but it shows how baseball is a team game
He’s overrated
He has never had a 200 hit season. Most likely will not finish with 3000 hits. He was so good in his prime
Gotta move to 1st or DH
He can retire today and walk into Coppers town as a HOF.
what ifs literally dont matter and are literal wastes of mental effort and time
2:42 yet albert pujols is way ahead. Im out this war stat is fcking stupid
That’s what happens when you sign with a club who doesn’t care about you

It's a shame he stayed on that terrible team.
More like Mickey Mantle than ever......
Edit: Except the team he plays on is terrible.
He still wasnt better that Griffey lol but thats saying alot as i consider him one of the best 3 outfielders of all time alongside willy and roberto -
