This is a man, raising his daughters right! Much respect. Passing that knowledge down. As a single dad who raised 3 daughters by myself, I love this type of video. They love " The Boss" - Dad... simply awesome!
I’m glad to see “The Boss” warming up to the camera. He always explains everything so well and it’s evident that he’s passionate about the family business.
Great video. It's apparent that a bunch of thought and experience has gone into this operation. Love the humility of this entire family. Well done Dad and Emerald.
A clean work area is more efficient and safer. "Down time is cleanup time" is stressed in every big sawmill for a reason. You're a good leader Boss Man!
I watch several YT channels of those with a firewood business. In nearly all cases, they handle (by hand) the wood many times. Hand lifted to the splitter, hand thrown into a trailer, hand taken out of trailer, hand stacked, hand loaded for delivery. Wow! So much handling, especially by hand. The yard has stacks, stacks and more stacks - species, time of seasoning, etc. Your process is so much better streamlined. The double/triple/quad handling is eliminated.
Great tour of the firewood business ! So important to keep the work space clean and efficient. I like your decision to operate smaller and more versatile trucks.
I sold and burned wood for decades. But probably the last 2 decades I haven't touched firewood. Still I love watching the Bossman and his gorgeous daughter talk firewood.
You have a very impressive operation there. I respect the habit of cleaning up after each use. I worked in steel stampings for 30 years and my people regretted having to clean up the area at the end of their shift, but it keeps the area looking great and helps eliminate accidents. Thanks for the informative video.
For a guy that professed to dislike filming you seem very comfortable now! Like George Burns said "Once you've got sincerity down, you've got it made" LOL Great video. Let Emerald keep her job as cinematographer.

We can learn from others and also we learn from our own failures and successes. Listening to the boss man is a success story for us to enjoy and learn from. Enjoy your weekend
Great presentation Em, you can see the pride you all have for the log yard and your family . I enjoy watching you girls run the yard, more families need to work together no matter what the project might be.
Boss, I gotta say, I meant to tell you a couple months ago, when you did a video on the actual logging deck and road on the mountainside....how much I appreciate your philosophy! HAVING A SYSTEM!!!!!👏👏👏 Now, in this video, the same theme is coming through....I love it!!! In my crowd of colleagues in the tree business out here, I am like John the Baptist, crying in the wilderness!!!😜😜
A great setup for firewood. Surely makes it easier to operate with everything kept clean. Less breakage and less wear on the machine. Thanks for the great video, Emerald, and Boss. Have a great weekend.
This was a great presentation! The Boss takes pride in his work, his equipment and , more importantly, his family. I like the way you have streamlined your business and the way you and Mrs. Boss have taught your kids the value of hard work and a job well done.
Emerald your daddy is a smart man. Pay attention you do well. The best information you can get, hands on training! He is teaching you well and you are picking it up quite well. Great video
NOW I know why I'm enjoying this channel so much! As a lover of an endless coffee pot, it takes it to a new level to devote a sidebox of your truck into a mobile java bar, lol!
Wow your family sure has a lot invested in equipment, trucks, trailers and sawmills. Your dad, mom and probably your grandfather worked very hard to get this all set, now with you , your brother and sisters it is truly a family business.
You are sooo lucky to have your dad and whole family in your life. I never knew my dad. Cherish your life young one. There is nothing better. Grass is as green as it gets for you. I’m a 57 year old male and I think your dad is the sh*t. Be proud of what you have.
Love how it’s a family business and I truly appreciate how hard you all work,,, it’s so refreshing to see families actually earn their money instead of doing nothing,, I really admire you and your family’s hard work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you Boss Man from WV mountains. Shared this video with my landscaper nephew in VT, a can do guy like yourself. Whenever I am doing a project building something, I always allow time at the end of the day to put tools away and clean up!
Thank You!. Boss is a man who knows from hard experience, the right, the wrong, the good, the bad and the ugly of the firewood & log business I would be well pleased to meet him someday.
@@KenBreon I would love to. I am the gentleman who heated his house with wood for more than 30+ years. Cut, split and stacked my word, performed all the service & repairs on my two 5.0 cu Pro Mac 850's and a Stihl 360 Pro. Even worked recently at an ACE hardware where I also serviced Stihl and Husqvarna's. Do not know every Thing about saws but do know one heck of a lot about keeping them serviced, repaired and running right. I could never get enough of working with wood, heating with it and the labor involved, and doing small engine repair on the farm. Do hope to come by some day, get my hands "dirty" again, and perform some helpful work there at Lumber Capital. I am semi-retired BUT... if I lived nearby, I would take care of your saws like they were my own, just for the pure pleasure of it. Kindest Regards to you, Boss gentleman!
Great video Emerald. Boss man is right, much easier to keep your work space and equipment clean. Fixing equipment in the freezing mud sucks. I get the trailer idea too, makes sense, you get the ability to haul but with more diversity of use. Can't believe he cuts all day then still punches out a cord on the processor. No wonder you are coffee junkies.
I love those life lessons where you end up saying "And I'll never do that again''. Sometimes we get to hear others say that and learn before we even do it in the first place. Thanks for sharing that mistake and letting some of us learn before hand. Lots of respect for that.
I know the boss man doesn't like being on camera but I do like hearing him explain things. I'm not part of this industry but all of you are really good at explaining things so that someone like me can understand.
Nice operation. The landscaping supply yards in NorCal get slash shredded and they call it Gorilla Hair. A lot of people use it for ground cover around trees in their yards.
👋🏽 Hello from the tyrannical state of Oregon. We are new to the wood business, we bought ten acres and installed a huge woodstove/cookstove. Well, we saw an ad for a ‘cord’ of wood: $300 The guys arrived with the wood, loosely thrown into the back of their truck. We stacked it later, the measurements are: 4 feet tall 8 feet long 2feet wide We got screwed. According to many sources, this is not a full cord, but 1/3 cord. Lesson learned.
I love how you clean up, My Father and oldest brother made that point very clear to me many years ago, cleaning up at the end of the day, with no excuses, was not an option, lol Great habit to have plus like you said take care of your equipment and tools, If I put tool's back up dirty, O BOY NOT.....I learned. You have a wonderful operation and family, love this channel. God Bless...Ronnie from Nashville TN
Good hard work! I can relate. We operated a ‘buy and load yourself’ Wood yard for twenty five years. There was usually around twenty five 1/3 increments on the lot. Established customers would pull in, load their wood and leave the money. Sometimes there’d be three or four customers helping each other. 200 cords each year and We didn’t deliver a stick. Thirty years total in the firewood business. I decided two years ago to call it quits.
The Boss is a cool gentleman. I'm jealous of his life 😃. Built up all that business. Glad he has a family to help him keep it going now. Would be really interesting to see an interview with the Boss and Boss Lady on their decisions and how they built the business up, how they started and things like home schooling.
Suggestion guy's,maybe incorporate discussion of uses of your sawn timber into videos a bit, perhaps take photographs where used and then review alongside pre use material in the yard.
Just a thought about "Matthew Cremona" video on his huge red lumber pole barn. More organized and undercover for sales, dry storage and retail. Something that can't be missed as an advertisement.
I believe the secret to your business’ success is the fact that you all have an excellent work ethic. From young to not as young, you all take your job very seriously.👍
Another good one from the Boss Man and great camera work Emerald. I liked the Lumber Capital coffee bar. You guys got to create a LCYL coffee to sell on your merchandise page. Thanks for sharing!
Dad, aka Bossman, I love the coffee service! Emerald as usual you did a great video job and Bossman the explanation was outstanding. Well thought out and efficient and I am excited about Winter coming.
We have been cutting and burning wood for 75 years. Wood doesn't really season until it is cut into blocks and split. Birch, they say starts to rot while the tree is falling, lol. I enjoy your videos a lot! All the milling I have done has been with an Alaskan mill. I would like to visit sometime.
a great insight into the industry you can see from the set up you have that it runs smoothly. you're dad is a smart guy. love the video's you guy's put out. much love from herefordshire england. x
I like when Papa tells us how its done and done right. Got to respect all those years of hard work, knowledge and wisdom.
Thanks for the comment. Boss Man.

Your analysis is correct. Handle it as few times as possible. Boss Man.

When I worked in a machine shop we weren't allowed to clock off unless the shop was cleaned up and all tools put away.
For a guy that professed to dislike filming you seem very comfortable now! Like George Burns said "Once you've got sincerity down, you've got it made" LOL Great video. Let Emerald keep her job as cinematographer.

Thanks for talk! Impressive set up. Happy Weekend!
Sweet setup..and coffee on demand!!
The Boss seemed to be more talkative today. He always does a great job explaining and describing the topic that is under discussion. Happy Weekend!
there is no better teacher than a knowledge of you job. And Your father is great example.
Thanks for the comment. Boss Man.
Boss Man is getting comfortable with the camera. What a great wealth of knowledge. Love the family business.

Hi Boss. "ask me how I know!" I use that line often when working with a youngster.

Everything looks well thought out and neat ! Nice .

Wow, thank you. Boss Man.
i allways admired the depth of cleaning that Em an Jade did on the LT40 at the end of the shift. now i know where they got it from.
This is a great example of putting more work in the preparation to make less work in the process. Great video.
I love The Boss's in-depth explainations. The more detail, the better for me IMHO.
Love how it’s a family business and I truly appreciate how hard you all work,,, it’s so refreshing to see families actually earn their money instead of doing nothing,, I really admire you and your family’s hard work 👍👍👍👍
Thanks, Boss Man. That's a great setup you have there. Em, good work on the video, as usual. Y'all have a restful weekend!
Nice set up. I’m more in line with your original set up. Making big logs into little logs all day. Be safe. Enjoy. 🇺🇸
Very efficient! I like it 😀
I like the reasoning between a dump truck vs the trailers and utility vehicles.. good information ..
Y'all are good folks with strong family structure I enjoy your videos
Very cool, awesome video . Have an awesome weekend 👍🏼❤️🇺🇸😎🤙🏻
Thank you Boss Man from WV mountains. Shared this video with my landscaper nephew in VT, a can do guy like yourself. Whenever I am doing a project building something, I always allow time at the end of the day to put tools away and clean up!
I can tell a lot of thought went into your setup. It is quite impressive to us laymen. Keep up the good work 🇺🇸
Awesome content as always
Always like to see the boss taking part in a video. Thank you.👍👍
Thanks!
Thank you so much. Boss Man.
The boss is getting better while being filmed. He didn't miss a beat. What he's doing and how is hard to beat with regards to other competition.
A very good Friday evening to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the uk
Thank You!. Boss is a man who knows from hard experience, the right, the wrong, the good, the bad and the ugly of the firewood & log business I would be well pleased to meet him someday.

Clean as you go is always a good moto to follow.
Favorite part of the day
Pops considers his customers friends .. that's why he builds his log yard on trust and integrity 👏
You are right. Many customers and subscribers become friends. Boss Man.
So generous and kind that you share so much with so many.
Always good to see the boss man

Very interesting stuff....love splitting firewood, especially in the fall. :)
Nice! Work smarter not harder. Totally understand cold weather from northern Wisconsin.
Very informative. I like the break down. It covered the small things that make something efficient.
Very instructional.
Seriously.
Peace on earth.

That old splitter looks like a Timberwolf. They are very well made and last for generations. Any parts that wear out can be replaced.
Love the block ideas.... makes cleanup alot easier might have to incorporate that idea into my yard
I would love to see your yard. Have a good firewood season. Boss Man.
That's a great setup. I'm glad you planned it out. Good luck.
AWESOME coffee setup Boss Man!!! ☕

Great video Boss Man ,thank you.
The blocks are awesome as I make a massive mess on the big fir rounds with 3-4” thick bark. Much to my lovely brides dismay so I’m constantly raking
