I am still listening to this metal cover of Greensleeves on 6th January, 2022. Love it so much as this is one of the rockiest versions I have ever come across since my childhood.
I use the Dorian version, which I believe to be the older version, although I'm not sure if anyone really knows what the 'right' or 'original' version is. Many people are used to the Aeolian version, which sounds more modern (and thus easy on the ear for us 21st century listeners). I listened to a fair few versions and decided I prefer these notes the best.
Wondeful!!!! Amazing!!! Congratulations, man!!! I have not words. Greensleeves is one of my favourites songs from all times, so listen to a heavy metal version of it is... like a dram!!! Thank you for sharing
Hey, I don't have any sheet music or tabs for this. I learned this tune many years ago on violin, and no longer have the sheet music. I checked out various different recordings I found on the internet to figure out the chords, and which variants of the notes I would use (there are many variants of both the melody and chords). Everything is pretty much jammed out based around the chords and melody.
Haha, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! But just some innocent fun...I kinda caught myself expecting the lyrics to be "We wants it, we needs it. Must have the green sleeves. They stole it from us. Sneaky little sleeves. Wicked, tricksy, false!"
Mine already had it changed for a jack when I got it. I would imagine this would be quite easy to do, you just need to find what each wire of the existing socket does, and wire it to a jack instead.
years later and I find myself coming back to this, I consider it a masterpiece
