This one sounds so freaking good bro. I'm proud of you. I've built quite a few and this sounds the best of any elec uke I've heard. Just has that SWEET sound.....
You know, I actually didn’t get asked any questions about it. And I’ve brought back a pieces of wood from Denmark and India too. Maybe they don’t care about smaller pieces. 🤷♂️
Was watching some random ukelele vids cause I'm planning to get one. Found this. Lol. That's cool stuff you're making. Never heard of electric ukelele until this. I'm also from the Philippines. 😆
Just came across this video. Absolutely beautiful man! The way the body turned out blew my mind. I've always wanted to try and create my own acoustic and watching your video has re-lit the fire under my ass. Love it! Also, I appreciate your editing skills by the way.
CircuitsAndStrings I spent a day trying to figure out where it was from because I knew I had heard it before on my playlist ... anyways you’re right say it ain’t so definitely came first
Hey! I enjoyed your video very much. The Ukulele is looking and sounding great. I'm working on a similar project (with electric guitar strings and pickups) and I'm wondering if I have to use a truss rod for the neck. Seems that you didn't use one and I'm not quite sure I'd be be able to do it well with my tools. What's your opinion on that?
I have electric ukuleles that I built 10+ years ago with necks that remain straight as an arrow. The combination of short necks and less strings make for less stress on the neck.
Badass!!!! This makes me want to build my own ukulele, too bad I don't have the resources for it lol. But it's my mission to one day gain them and buold my own uk!

Wow awesome craftsmanship! It's so cool that people are interested in buying your creations, but that's gotta be expensive, huh? (P.S. love the wood n great job 👏)
decades ago I had an electric ukulele; except that instead of a pickup it had a small flashlight duct-taped just left of the leftmost string, the beam shining across all 4 strings into a photocell duct-taped just right of the rightmost string, it output going into a makeshift amplifier. It sounded very distorted.
For metal strings, I just use magnetic guitar pickups. I used a Black Ice pickup from CB Gitty. www.cbgitty.com/guitar-instrument-parts/pickups/black-ice-single-coil-electric-guitar-pickup-by-foundry-tone/

I’ve used both of the pickups for electric ukuleles and they both work great. A lot of the time for my builds I am looking for the right look for the model I am making.

Thank you ron
That wood is beautiful.
+djfreak1996 I agree. It looked pretty dull, until I put oil on it.
Yeah that wood was so sexy

Still a guitar
This is a ukulele. It has a ukulele scale length, and it has ukulele tuning. Not a guitar.

That is awesome! Great job!!
Funny I have never seen a woodshop before.. xD Btw did you intentionally make it look like that Legendary yamaha version?
I didn’t intentionally make it like the Yamaha version, but it does have some of the same vibes. I also took some design cues from the SG Junior.
Taking a mix of guitar chords and of the techniques have been seen on a $1 ukulele I got from Dollar Tree it sounds good
Cool. Do you have a video of your playing?

Sir what kinds of strings did you use??
Thin gauge electric guitar strings.
