This video made me emotional. I am playing since halo combat evolved in 2004 when i was 14 some of the best memories from my life are from playing the halo games alone and with my best friends.
Halo CE for me is like WoW Classic. A timeless masterpiece. Guys like me will grasp for the next big IP released to match that quality.. its literally like waiting for half life 3...

I can't believe they added the clan system in with Halo 2 and then ditched it for over 10 years. It came back with Halo 5, and disappeared AGAIN with Halo Infinite. I loved inviting people into my clan and seeing all of my buddies and friends of my buddies online and joining each other's games. I actually made more friends on Halo 5 than I have since Halo Reach. Clans need to come back.
The sadest thing is that halo was an innovator, a trend setter now its trying to copy trends instead of make them Microsoft and 343 plz stop following industry trends and make them instead. Halo is my childhood

I think a large part of why gaming is as a whole worse than it used to be is due to higher ups or whoever that look at only the books and money... they're legitimately min maxing the industry and that fucks us all over the longer it takes place... "Oh that campaign dlc makes considerably less than this set of cosmetics and also requires more manpower?... well scrap that." not realizing that very dlc is also what'll keep a ton of fans playing and possibly have them dabble into the store (not that it should even be there or remotely as disgustingly priced)
Exactly. The ironic thing is that these corpos are forgetting how they became successful. Now they're so focused so much on things that don't actually matter and that nobody is asking for that they're losing touch with their consumerbases. This will end badly for everyone.
@@deepism Need more huge successes to come out like BG3 and HD2 with game models that aren't fisting the players at every turn.... however a lot of blame needs to also be put on the people who buy into these terrible setups.. no game at all will have these stores in or shit practices IF people didn't buy them, time to income ratios are massive and this is why they do this, any C level suit is also largely to blame here however it's not all them as they're doing the job they have and if it's follow shit trends they'll do so... if it's make quality dlc or games or nothing sells oddly enough they'll do so.

TBH the real combat evolved was being able to freely drive a warthog while a friend was on the turret. Halo was the first game to ever make that work without being on rails.

Bungie did such a fantastic job making each game a step up from the previous one. Then 343 came in and were extremely complacent, resulting in a plateau for Halo. Such a shame.
I don't see how Last Spartan Standing is innovative when the game mode was already in CE called Elimination. They just added a shrinking kill barrier to pander the Battle Royale crowd.
I mean we can’t really expect them to create new trends because being able to create a new Halo 2 is pretty hard and they aren’t Bungie but we should be getting way better content then we are right now.
When it comes to last spartan standing I'm very mixed I liked the concept but hated the game play if they remade it with 4 teams of 4 with power weapon spawns on a map it could have been like a mini br and I would have liked it but instead they went with this weird gun game spin off

halo is deadass 3d metal slug with some compile stg (spriggan mk2 regen shields) elements, so to innovate (rip mechanics from japanese shooting games) we should put shinobu yagawa on 343 just so he could put the most aggressive ranking systems on every halo gamemode "including the singleplayer?" especially the singleplayer
The theater and file share, along with Bungienet, were probably the best parts of Halo 3. Not to mention the introduction of forge. And then Reach built upon those in significant ways. Also, yeah, i remember online gaming before matchmaking. Matchmaking was such a game changer. Bungie's contribution to the gaming world through Halo is truly something to cherish.

Halo doesn’t get a good rep these days, especially the Bungie games. Yet somehow people prefer to play competitive, microtransactioned free-to-plays that wouldn’t exist without CE’s influence
The thing is, in the halo 1 to halo reach era Bungie had top talent and a lot of creative freedom. 343 seems like they've improved in a lot of ways but they're just not on the cutting edge. Most people who want to innovate and have groundbreaking new ideas are probably not going to want to work on a two decade old IP, much less for Microsoft. Bungie also has been through a few management disasters and lost a lot of the OG employees who made the company stand out.
Bungie has entirely lost the plot at this point. I really don't think there's any hope for them. Especially after that scandal where they laid off hundreds of employees who were all coincidentally weeks away from earning their shares of Bungie's stock for working so long. Even Michael Salvatore, Marty O'Donnell's other half, wasn't safe. They were all literally robbed.
Maybe instead of the next halo game being mainline, it should be a spinoff multiplayer game that is very experimental go over the good the bad and the ugly and see how they can improve or instead of being just multiplayer, a spin off single player game
Also, they probably need to realize people don’t just want to see Spartans while everybody in the halo community can admit, Spartans are great it’s not all that they want to see the people want ODST’s back. I feel like that is a strong reason as to why those pitched ODST games were denied. They weren’t spartan themed.
I feel as if 343 get too experimental with their next game,some fans will still whine on about some new/modified feature regardless.Nevertheless,I do agree with you that 343 need to figure out what they're doing with the Halo games but its been so many years already(since they received stewardship of Halo) that any misstep(intentional or not) by them at this point will inevitably cause more and more fans to be discontented and leave. Also,I was recently watching a streamer(who had previously played through Halo up till 2) play through Crysis 2 and he mentioned he would like Halo even more if they made a grittier,boots on the ground game from the POV of a Marine/ODST.The demand for those types of games is there and it would most probably sell well if they made it with care.Myself,I would love to see a Flood themed horror game in Halo.

It's basically just Halo Reach with a little sprinkle of H3 thrown in there on top of a different artstyle.
The Halo franchise has given me soooo many fantastic memories that I will never forget. Even now at 35 years old, I still love it.
