    I've owned my 2013 Ridgeline for 8 years now. 165k miles on it and it starts and runs as well as the day I bought it. It's flat out the best vehicle I've owned!

    2 reasons I traded my F150 for a 2023 Ridgeline: I like the utilities of a truck and a ride of an SUV. It fits in my garage.

    I have a 2021 RTLE White, basically the same as the back edition. Went with RTLE cause i wanted the beige interior and saved a few bucks doing so :) To anyone who says its not a truck. Just ignorant. Trucks and all vehicles for that matter are like hammers, or ladders etc... you buy what you need. I love my RTLE. Came from a 2020 Tundra Crewcab Limited, Great Truck!! But i dnt tow 10k and very rarely have 5 passengers. So the Gas Savings and ride quality works better for me. Plus it fits in my garage :)

      Hi there, just looked at an rtle yesterday. Do you think you made any compromises otherwise by going with the rtle over the black?

    It's been said over and over again... it's all the truck MOST of us will ever need. Unless you're towing a tool trailer or somehow have your livelihood tied to a truck, the Ridgeline is a really great option, that covers a lot of bases. I bought a '21 Black Edition, I've put 24K trouble free miles, and managed to haul or tow anything that has come up. Mission accomplished!

    I love the Ridgeline and want one very badly. I don't understand why so many call it a grandpa truck. It really is a premium product.

    • @AustinApologue
      @AustinApologue Год назад +3

      I think there is just SO much "baggage" associated with it, people judge it prematurely. But straight up I bet if you could time travel, pull in a focus group from 20+ years ago, don't let them see any branding, and ask them which modern truck looks the best, the Ridgeline would rank higher than most if not all "real" trucks. Or maybe grandpas have good tastes 🙂

    • @Psalm144.1
      @Psalm144.1 Год назад +2

      My Dad is a grandpa (8 grandkids). He mentioned wanting the Ridgeline because he thinks it was the quietist truck and most room in the mid-size class. He picks up his RTL trim level in 2 weeks.

    • @Psalm144.1
      @Psalm144.1 Год назад +3

      @@AustinApologue I don’t like the looks of the 2023 Ridgeline compared to the 2023 Nissan Frontier or the Toyota Tacoma. But Ridgeline features like the trunk and the rear seats folding up more neater with more room than the others is starting to grow on me. I see more real world usage with the Ridgeline than a Tacoma. I’m not trying to crawl over rock boulders. “Off road” for me is a country dirt road with a few ruts or a forest graveled road.

    • @richardmichael59
      @richardmichael59 Год назад +3

      It’s called needs over wants. Sensibility says you don’t usually need more than a RL unless you are towing heavy trailers.
      Grandpas know this because of their experiences in life.

      Yeah really - looks super sharp, just seems like a couple of details were missed. I didn't realize until this video that even the "infotainment" colors are changed on the Black Edition ... seems like they would have prioritized a couple of chrome add-on badges as a super easy "upgrade". But overall love the look of the BE!

    • @richardmichael59
      @richardmichael59 Год назад +1

      Exactly. But not something that can’t be done fairly inexpensively.
      Shorten up the over long chrome tips with some flat black ones and a can of plastidip for the badges.

    Great review! You have the best car/truck reviews on RUclips hands down. I like that you mentioned turning radius (a specification that most reviewers overlook). I'm hoping that Honda incorporates many of the 2023 Pilot interior features into the new 2024 Ridgeline. In particular, the dash and center console. More color choices and nicer looking rims would be nice to see on the 2024 model as well.

    I’m on my 2nd Ridgeline. My 1st was a 2017 RTL-T, it had 20K miles when a distracted driver blew past a stop sign and totaled the truck. I now own a 2022 RTL - Lunar Silver Metallic and love it. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the push button shifting.

    My plan is to replace my 2009 Kia Borrego V8 (midsize SUV) in late 2024 with a pickup truck to tow our Casita travel trailer (2,900 lbs loaded). Considering a 1/2 ton truck, but prefer a mid-size truck. Impressed with the RL’s payload, reliability, safety, features, ride, and performance. AWD will handle all of our needs. The 5,000 tow rating is adequate. Also, considering other traditional body on frame mid-size trucks as well. The new Frontier is a fine truck, but payload is not as good. I have camping friends that love their Tacomas (many of them) and Rangers. Grew up driving a 1968 Jeep J10 Gladiator pickup (it was a beast). Will look at Gladiators as well, but probably too pricey for the features that I value the most. Hard to beat the RL for my needs. Interested in what the 2024 RL will offer. Would like to see a Trail Edition version of the RL. Also, the Black Edition is my favorite, but needs ALL black trim work. Still too much chrome.

    I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E (lunar silver/black wheels). This vehicle is so much fun to drive on everyday trips or long road trips. I also like the fact that it has a shifter instead of punch button. Other than that and tailpipes and 3 more gears it is the same as the 3rd gen.

    I really like the Ridgeline.
    It’s a good size, Honda reliability, looks way better than the older ones and the bed trunk is really cool.
    I HATE where the spare tire is though. Think about getting a flat on a dump run or on the way to a camping trip and having to empty the bed to get at the spare. Huge miss in my opinion.

      I have a 2021 Honda Passport Elite AWD and it has the power mirrors, heated and cooled front seats and heated rear seats. I don't have any clue why they cannot do it on the Ridgeline also. They have it as an option on the Pilot for the same options I have on the Passport. The advantage the Ridgeline has over both of those is the factory 5,000 lb. towing package. I did put it on my Passport a few months ago since I do tow a little "teardrop" style camper when fully loaded is about 3,000 lbs. I just wanted to have that piece of mind.
