I have a 2022 RTL-E. It's the 1% (of sales) truck that meets 99% of most people's needs. Best fuel economy even with full time AWD which is amazing in wet and snow conditions. Don't forget the two way tailgate and the "hidden" massive cooler/storage under the bed.
Yup same here, my third. 2006, 2010, and now 23. Yes I wish it could tow more BUT we bought a 2016 Nissan Titan XD Cummins and that thing can tow. So the Ridgeline is my daily truck and the Titan my tow truck. The refinement of the Ridgeline is night day over the smaller trucks in the segment.
@@587G yes, very nice sound system, truck is also very quiet, minimal engine, road and engine noise. I traded a 2022 Ford Bronco for it, very pleased with quality , comfort and utility.
@@justinl8455 the Ford Bronco 2 door Outerbanks was of poor quality. The roof was unbelievably noisy at speed, the twin turbo 2.3 sounded like a sewing machine, getting into the rear seats almost impossible, the instrument panel was poorly designed…. Lets put it this way, I am 68 years old and it was the worst vehicle I had ever purchased……. Love the Ridgeline!
I'm on my second Ridgeline. My 06 was good. Drove an Accord 2.0t 6mt that was fun but it didn't fit my lifestyle. Back into a 23 Ridgeline and oh boy is it nice. So far so good.
You missed or glazed over the features that make the Ridgeline uniquely better than other mid-size trucks. Four wheel independent spring suspension plus unibody construction gives you a quiet, car-like ride. The tail gate swings open like a fridge door or flips up and down; that's incredibly helpful on grocery day. It has an actual trunk that can double as a big ice chest for tailgating socials (and includes a drain plug). The spare is on a slider tray in the trunk; no more climbing under your truck in the mud and snow to retrieve your spare tire. Apple Car play is included and combined with your smart phone provides the best GPS you ever saw. That 285 HP Honda V6 is amazingly fast; put the pedal to the metal and hold on mama.
I’ve been looking at Mid-size trucks off/on for decades, although the cramped cabs, lack of cargo space and rough ride kept me in the full size segment, the Ridgeline really doesn’t have any competition in my opinion for what you get, it’s the only mid-size truck that has good ratings from Consumer Reports, I have purchased a 23 RTL-E and it’s very comfortable, smooth and powerful, plenty of cargo space, I always felt my full size trucks were too large and cumbersome around town parking etc and wouldn’t fit in the garage which is not the case with the Ridgeline
The towing capacity argument is largely a red herring. Honda claims that studies show that 5000 pounds is more than 90% of truck owners will ever tow in their lives. If you need to tow more, buy a body-on-frame truck. If not, it is meaningless.
I am really interested in the Honda Ridgeline! I believe it is plenty truck for my needs. The only thing making me want to wait until maybe 2024 model is the infotainment system. It seems so dated…
I have a 21 HPD, Ave 18 mpg around town, used 1 quart oil between change, thats the light oil used in these engines, not a mechanical fault, handiest little pickup I have ever owned and I have had them all over the years, it’s a runabout that will function in all weather conditions, solid build, off road capable if you want to jump a curb and tear up your mom’s flower bed, add a easy on your knees bed rug, Agrifab aluminum low profile tri fold tonneau for lock secure bed and your good to go.

I am 70+ and we dont haul anything other than grass clippings or wife goes to garden shops. Depreciation on Santa Cruz is fine for our income and little expenditures 😢, we just want a vehicle at our age to enjoy, the car like ride and goofy looking suv/truck Hyundai
I seen the RTL-E in Videos and when I went to Honda to look they didn't have any Ridgeline at the time. Everything that I seen at the time showed the Back Look and thought the RTL-E had it, (It don't) then in this video I see the Black Edition does? Does it? @@tego73 I bought a '21 black Black Edition. 24K trouble free miles so far. I did look at Ranger, Toyota (I'd owned one in '07), also Colorado/Canyon. The 2 biggest factors for me was a roomy cabin, and best ride. After that V6, 9spd tranny, and the bed features. All are IMHO > Ford/Toy/GM
The Gladiator will far exceed the Ridgeline price as soon as you go to the dealer and see the REAL price. Dealer markups, and especially inflated prices when you go up the trim level and accessories.
I have the RTL model and there are 2 things I hate about it. One, if my key fob is in my pocket with other things, it sometimes rolls down all the windows and opens the sunroof. Two, the collision avoidance warning is annoying and useless! It activates for every bush and sign close to the edge of the road. I always turn it off, but I have to do it every time I start it.
I own a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. The best vehicle I have ever owned. It is irresponsible for reviewers of this vehicle to mention that it now features Hondas disastrous cylinder deactivation system (vcm). Read about it. I am going to keep my 2006 until Honda replaces the engine without vcm or offers a hybrid or full electrical mode.
Sport is the way to go. The RTL and up adds a moon roof - THAT LEAKS. It also takes away head room. Leather - who wants it? It's a truck. Leather is sticky in the summer. It is also a very light color that is easily soiled and looks like a cheap car interior. The cloth in the Sport is very durable and comfortable. The basic Sport is the way to go, if you want a truck.
