- The much anticipated snowstorm arrived somewhat late in the early evening of Thursday the 31st January and it continued snowing heavily all night right until mid-afternoon of the 1st February. This video shows trains in the early stages of the snowstorm at Oldfield Park station in the darkness of the evening and also during the morning and afternoon of the following day. The snow finally ceased by 15:00 and there was even some late afternoon weak sunshine. Trains featured include Class 165, Class 43 HST, Class 800 ICE, Class 158 Sprinter. The trains may not be remarkable but the depth of snow was exceptional with 27 centimetres recorded just to the south of Bath. Surprisingly many trains were running although there were a few cancellations and some services were heavy delayed.

That’s one heavy snowstorm
It was predicted although it turned up late. It was much heavier than expected and the large snow flakes were on the wet side.
Brilliant video love the still of night time at the cold dark and lonely station with just the train passing as then all is quiet again. Thank you
Yes it was quite eerie that night.
Trains are so cool against awful snow.
Hi Dai, It does make ordinary trains look special in such conditions.
im in bath too, we had so much snow it was crazy
Yes it was a lot at once but it soon disappeared. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.
And yet here in Suffolk where I live we never had one snow flake.
Hi Mike,
Yes it was a major dump of snow for here and this is the mild side of the country! I am very surprised that there hasn't been any in Suffolk but there is still time to get some.

Thanks Paul. I must be mad filming in those conditions but if you and other
enjoy it this makes it worthwhile.
