@1:50 - yep, the tripod joint is easy to pull out. I did that. It wasn't *too* hard to put back in, I just had to spin the hub while pushing on it (when installing the new strut)

hah yea, by the end of this I got used to rebuilding these - getting that DS out was a pain, there's certainly a touch/technique for it.

When I was replacing my second strut, I noticed the hub fall down a little after removing the strut. I can not get the last strut in by any means and going to try again tomorrow. Is this tripod joint or whatever able to be slid back in? ... not sure I am describing it correctly.

2:20 I had a similar problem and the way i solved it was by buing 2 m12x1.25 nuts puting them on the threads and tightening them agains each other. After that the nut below eazely came out.

I have a Honda Jazz and it creaks when I accelerate drivers side, sounds like near the strut or wheel is. I do not think it is the engine mounts, if the strut needs replacing would it creak like that quite loud?

6:22 oh man... don't do that. Always keep body parts away from the path a compressed spring would jump in if the spring compressor would snap.

Good shout - where I can assure that things were secure, your point is totally valid and I should of pointed out that this was mainly done for video benefit to show access.

Agreed, although I trust the spring compressors, it's like staring down the barrel of a loaded gun!

Hello sir, can you change a different type of suspension? Like put on the Ford focus independence suspension all around?

I am not so sure about top mount or bearing being bad. What you demonstrated at the intro is normal jazz /fit state of affairs ... Honda had to put out a signed statement in New Zeland, that this play is normal.

Currently installing new springs on my 2018 fit the strut assembly is essentially the same and I am having a nightmare with the top hex bolt and 17 mil. the wiper Cowell covers the bolt so I have about a 4 inch gap. I'm soaking both in wd40 over night and if that doesn't work I think I may have to remove the Cowell for more angle. The rear was a breeze took me about 10 min but the front is kicking my ass.

Sorry I have just seen this, if you can borrow an induction heater - kinda new discovery for me and I still need to buy one but they are magic on seized stuff.

I was just seeing the video and wondering if you have the car on a Jack at the end of the video or is it sitting

its normal for there to be a slight gap when the weight of the car is on the suspension. the top mount rubber is being compressed in these conditions. the gap is to allow for the expansion of the top mount rubber when there is less weight on the front suspension, when going over the crest of a hill for example. the suspension should not be wobbling around though

      @@Gruxxan thanks man!
I've checked with 2 other stock cars never touched before, and noticed they have the same space!
      So...I'm good 😉
