Grandpa had a very late 1.8 wide body 155 in champagne, what a beauty. Traded it for a rover 75 when that came out, was all about the sound of the engine, from a twinspark to a 2.0 V6, it sounded good!
the twin spark especially the 8v one sounds much better than many bigger engines. I bought one in 2013 as a first car drove it until 2016 then moved to live in another country and my family sold it for parts in 2017.
@@ale9toma Not true. Davide Cironi made a whole documentary about Alfa Romeo's DTM programme where he interviews engineers and drivers. You can watch it on RUclips.
@@omursaraslan6316 I'm a follower of Cironi, the dtm car was a prototype with tubolar chassis, carbon fiber coachwork, 1000kgs of weight, semi-automatic 6 gear gearbox. So the road car had very few in common with the dtm version. Maybe the base of the engine, but it wasn't even an Alfa one, but came from the v6 used on Lancia Thema, as engineer Limone said in Davide's documentary. I'm not a hater, just that many guys think that Dtm car was obtained by this q4, but it's not true. Gta and supertourism versions were strictly bonded with the q4.
Ha ha.... It wouldn't. It was very, very niche. And quite a commitment to own. Even in LHD markets it was rare. People have said the same "if they made a RHD.." comments about many other cars. The Corvette, the Tornado... This was never going to sell in numbers... And it is somehow better that it didn't.
Lol no. rhd is a much smaller part of the world than lhd. Alfa's big sale numbers never belonged to GB, no manus big sale numbers do. Rhd is just as weird as the imperial system, doesnt make much sense.
Eh no. Alfa only won dtm the first year they participated because no other manufacturer had a car ready for the new regulations. The next year Mercedes had a new car and Alfa was completely and utterly destroyed and never won a title again, didnt even come close again.
@jemimallah I watched another channel a while ago, CarThrottle, did a video with a LHD Mustang and reversed though while filming it and the person in the window wasn't happy. They either thought they had driven through the wrong way somehow (despite too many cars in the drive-thru to do that) or they just couldn't think about why he did it, driver only. I think he tried to explain to them why he reversed through by saying it's LHD but they just replied something that suggested that they didn't think it being LHD was relevant, despite it making their job a lot easier when passing the car machine to them, post first lockdown I believe. Had they drove through forward, the card machine would have to be passed into the car then the queue is delayed when they disinfect it after he used it, even contactless, as it was in a contaminated environment. To me it's logical to reverse though if you're the sole occupant in a LHD vehicle, and it's fine providing you're competent at reversing (unlike some who somehow passed a test at some point). I guess that might be one of their worries, someone with not reversing ability tries it then screws up the whole thing, but that's that individual driver's fault. If you're in a position where you need to go through a drive-thru in your LHD vehicle, I don't see why you can't reverse through, providing they haven't put up signs to tell you that you can't, just be aware that some people who may be working there may not be able to see your point of view and reasons for it. It might have been a one off with that CT video. I'll try and find it. Edit; ruclips.net/video/C9pc-y-kkT4/видео.html the McDonald's drive-thru is from about 4:55 into the video.
