    Nice comparison to all the other small radios. It's good to hear the opinion of a person who actually uses these small radios every day. That counts for a lot more than the guy who only flies the big radios.

    I really like the shape and size of the Pocket. Like the box radio style, no switches close to gimbals ( I tend to pinch and sometimes on these smaller radios my fingers hit the switches). Been looking for a smaller radio, using a T12 for travel but the switches on top of the gimbals 😠. Have thought about just removing the switches. This Pocket radio might just be the answer. Great review Albert!!! 👍

    This is really cool. The price point you cannot beat. I love my tango 2, but this is tempting. I wish this was available before I got the ranger module for elrs it would have saved me time. I PERSONALLY loved the dji radio it what I learned on. Now I'm used to full size gimbals now. I definitely need to retain my brain,like you said the smaller gimbals are the future. I wonder if DJI will make a 4 antenna 04 radio ? after the air 3 release with 04 transmission . Also TBS is due to make something new. I'm not sure if that's ever going to happen. This is PROBABLY the most interesting radio yet. Thank you for the reviews.

    I am wanting to get into ELRS on a budget. I currently have a Flysky i6 and was originally considering upgrading the firmware to OpenTX and modding it to put an ELRS module in it. However, that would cost as much as just buying this radio. I know the modules could get power outputs of 1W and this can only do 250mw. But couldnt I get another ELRS module in the future when I have the money to upgrade and THEN be able to get my full 1W power?

    I had been considering getting the RadioMaster Boxer as my entrypoint to ELRS radios, but now I need to consider whether this might be a better fit. I still have quite a lot of old DSM2 and DSMX aircraft, and it would be a bonus to be able to fly all of these with the same radio, so I was thinking that I want ELRS built-in, but with a multi-protocol option. Is it convenient to switch between internal and external modules on these newer radios, or is it just easier to keep an old radio for flying old aircraft?

    • @AlbertKimTV

    As a beginner, I've been looking at the Tx12 MK II (ELRS) for FPV drones before the new Pocket came out. Which one might be better, or can you do a comparison between it as well as the Boxer?

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  Год назад +3

      In a nutshell, the Pocket and TX12 uses the smaller gimbals and the Boxer uses the regular full sized gimbals. The pocket is the smallest, then the TX12 , then the Boxer. As they get bigger, they are also heavier. There's no way to know which one is right for you until you try them to see which one you like better. This is going to be very subjective. There are a lot of other factors to consider but since you said you're a beginner, a lot of those won't mean much to you. If you're getting your first radio, the pocket is a good place to start and if you don't like it, you're only out $65.

    • @jaechoe

      What Albert said, radios / controllers are like sunglasses you have to try them to see if it works for you. I started with the TX12, and loved it until I started doing more freestyle flying. I pinch my sticks, and noticed that on the TX12 my index finger would hit the switches on top of the gimbals and that would make me yaw slightly. Now I run a TX16s ( big heavy boy ) it is heavier but I love the gimbal and radio feel. I am thinking of the Pocket as my travel radio but similar to others I am not loving the buttons ( wish it has switches ). The Pocket with a price of $65 is hard to beat for a nice ELRS radio. Unfortunately not possible to bind with the CC2500 version. You need a full 4-in-1 multiprotocol module to bind to flysky receivers.

    Is there a way to unlock 250mw on the EU LBT version that ships limited to 100mw?

    • @LordGryllwotth
      @LordGryllwotth Год назад

      I would guess so. There is a USB C ontop for the flashing of the module I think. Or is that for the internal firmware for the controller? And you just flash the firmware you want. Some have had their USB inside.
      You figure it out

      I don't have engineering specs on the modules but I do know they have been different shapes in each new model. I have not seen them use the same module in multiple radios before. Perhaps if you can find a small enough module that will fit inside, you might be able to wire it up but I don't have time for this kind of experiment. I would ask radiomaster directly about this kind of engineering question as they would be better qualified to answer than me.

    Budget radio usually means budget gimbals. Upgrade as soon as possible if needed.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  Год назад +4

      These are hall sensor gimbals and had no jitter. Small gimbals for sure, but still good quality especially for the price. I don't feel like there is a need to upgrade these gimbals right away. It may last a long time, I will update people later if they fail but these feel very good to me. Your assumption based on no experience with this radio is pretty worthless IMO.

    • @shadowofchaosfpv4683
      @shadowofchaosfpv4683 Год назад +1

      @AlbertKimTV most of the time they use plastic gimbals for cost. Happy to hear the Hall gimbals are of good quality. I am the opposite and like the big radio style. But my nephew would like this style being a gamer.

    • @frankcastillo8869
      @frankcastillo8869 Год назад +3

      I trust Albert's opinion here. Just because they are plastic doesn't mean they are low quality. I think the AG01 metal gimbals cost more than the radio and honestly not worth it for me.
