Pay The Iron Price
My old pal Joser used to say, and still does, that every biker should have two bikes; a bagger and a chopper. We all end up on baggers at one time. In my 30's I was (and still am-1999 FXDWG) a Dyna guy. At the tender age of 39 I transitioned to baggers for the highway. As a young guy I "built" my engines and paid the price of reduced reliability for it. At 61 years old I'm on a 2020 RKS with a Zippers cam, pipes, and open air cleaner. I'll never crack the jugs on my bikes from here forward. It's expensive and reliability drops. That's for the young guns. Have fun Brooklyn with the new bagger.
I lived by that rule until I sold my 2019 Sportster (Roadster) and got the Pan-America. Now it's have a Baggerish bike (Low Rider ST with a TourPak) and an adventure bike! Haha
Wise words - Appreciate you stopping by as always man!
Awesome rule! I have a similar rule, but mine to have one cruiser and one standard bike. Got a Low Rider ST and a Triumph Street Scrambler, I love em both. Scrambler is great when I want to zip through traffic or ride in bad weather. The Low Rider ST is plenty big for me right now, but I'm still only 32. We'll see if I transition into a bagger guy like yourself lol
Wide Glide isn't a Dyna....Dynas only come in 39mm or 49mm front ends 😂😂😂😂
Real
I'm here for all the content! The videos have been amazing recently, and I love the new additional angles. Keep it up homie!
Means a lot man, especially all your work with that anniversary glide!
35°this morning feels like spring compared to last few weeks .
Truth
I’ve got a Low Rider ST & a Road Glide ST, completely different to ride & I’m able to keep them so hope you will keep the content coming.
That's what I'm saying, couldn't feel anymore different - Appreciate you weighing in Michael, definitely helpful to have that perspective!
Here for both, loving the evolution of the content, including the bagger trajectory. Hope you're getting a slice of the H-D ad spend, because I can hardly imagine a better sales pitch than converting a bagger-hater right in front of our eyes. Ride on!
I appreciate that! Stay tuned, definitely got some big things lined up for 2025, thank you!
“Babe wake up , FXDLS just dropped a vid”.
Pretty solid advice for anyone looking for an expedited divorce
@@FXDLSBrooklyn 🤣
I like the new format and for keeping it clean so I can watch it around my kids. Can't wait to see how this bagger turns out
That's how I've kept it from day one - The youth is always watching, respect first and foremost ⚡️
I'm looking forward to seeing your road glide build. Keep on crushing those miles fxdls Brooklyn!
Oh it's turning out to be another wild one - I'll have some updates for you guys soon
I have noticed and appreciate the content upgrade this year.👍🏻 (my opinion)… I watch for the riding and travel, any bike is cool. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
Quality over quantity straight up and still having a blast doing the damn thing - Thank you Mark!
I rode a 73' Yamaha 350 RD in my high school days (80's) and moved up to a 81' Honda CB750... before my first Sportster (99') in 05'. I bought a 12' Street Glide in 2013 and have taken some trips with my wife. I'm 5'-5" tall and 135 lbs. Our longest trip was 14 days, we've pulled a trailer through the Beartooth, Rocky, & Big Horn mountains. My 103" allows me to pull a trailer (wife behind me) and pass slower moving traffic with ease!! Easily going from 60 to 95 m.p.h. without down shifting while passing a semi. I've never had much reason to look at other bikes when I have the power, and comfort for riding 2-up. A friend of mine bought a Sportster at the age of 67-68, loaded his overweight truck driver ass and his girlfriend (375-400lbs together) on the bike...and took a trip to the West coast (multiple states) from West Central Minnesota. He had no problem with the Sportster, but bought a new Street Glide for more comfort. He sold the Street Glide and bought his Sportster back...said the Glide wasn't worth the weight, or headache of moving it while using your feet. Another friend of mine took his Sportster and wife on a trip to Pike's Peak etc. again... another old guy with his wife adding about 400lbs. to the seat of a Sporty. He did eventually buy a Road King, and complained of the weight and wished he would have kept his Sportster. My reason for my comment is to point out that the different models of Harley Davidson, all have a different appeal for different people. My friends call me the "World's Smallest Biker" because of my size...and riding a FLHX. While some of my other friends are fine with the light weight and nimbleness of the Sportster. I'm hoping I get the chance to ride some newer models. I still have my XL, FLHX, and a 91' FXRS. Ride safe!!
Nice man!! Hold on to that FXR!
Sheeeeww!! She looks good! 🔥🤘🏼
Thank you!
Let the journey begin, cheers!
🏁
You gotta check out Bamco motorsports. Your bike would look so sick with their bolts!
Shoot me the link!
I'm a sport bike guy but man I am in love with the lowrider s. I'm about to sell a kidney to get one lol.
Yeah I've had a few friends come from the sport bike work specifically for this bike - Have you ridden one yet?
@FXDLSBrooklyn no just sat on one at the dealership unfortunately
Great video!!! Love the bike!
Thank you!
Look forward to the upcoming bagger build... Very nice
Me too! If all goes as planned, we're going to be looking at some real heat!
Just found you. Interesting; similarly, I’ve always toured on my chromed out ghost flame 05’ Softail Standard with everything strapped to sissy bar or on back. David Mann style, chest in the wind, pure and raw. 1k/day, no problem.
That's what's up man! Great year and paint
2025 Low Rider ST changes look great to me... highly considering one
Nice! What are you currently on?
@@FXDLSBrooklyn a 21 Rebel 1100. Its more my size, and I have nice bags and a batwing on it, but I still want something a bit better. I've ridden heavier bikes and am pretty sure the Low Rider ST would work for me. Whenever I can test ride one I plan to check them out.
I have to get me one of those STs feel like it’s a perfect mix
Have you ridden one yet?
@ unfortunately not, still out of my price range at the moment. I have a 2020 street Bob
Never thought ill see the day haha. But congrats!
Thanks man!
Pragmatism is a cruel mistress that I don't wish on my worst enemy, like trying to cut the cord on a true love that you can't erase from one's very essence. No amount of white candle and sea salt rituals will tear away that silver skin from the muscle. Culinary experts prefer to trim the membrane where as traditional carnivores prefer the gamey flavor staying true to their instincts. I prefer to live with the open wound that I'm not even going to justify.
My first commuter motorcycle was a Honda 305 Scrambler. I rode across 25 miles mountain ridge and cold fog filled valleys with sketchy plates and no proper gear, year round out of desperation and determination. I claim that I didn't have a choice, yet I quickly adapted the vehicle to my fashion sense and discovered that I had a riding style as if it had always been there. I found over the years that my territories dictated my vehicle preference, and even though I can adapt, I have the luxury of choice these days.
Your surroundings will make your choice tougher my friend, if you lived in a rural area with warm brown country roads merging onto four lanes of interstate leading to the western prairies, your choice would be obvious, Harley has engineered and perfected the Great American Touring platform that is as welcome as campfire cooking to one's internal peace, yet your urban landscape demands that you slice the sheetmetal scab from the bone, hop the metaphysical and otherwise curbs while adjusting your spine in ways no witch doctor chiropractor could imagine.
I don't envy your decision.
You know better than most, which is why I've definitely enjoyed watching your journey throughout the years - Glad you're making videos again man!!
Damn… this was a well crafted write🤙🏾
Ideally here for both bro 👊🏼⚡️
Means a lot - Thank you man!
Dude I just bought a brand new 2024 left over Low Rider S yesterday! 👊🏼⚡️
Honestly never rode on a new road glide, but it's my sportglide for me forever .
Definitelty test ride one
Brotherrrrrrrrrrr....................
I will show myself out.
Excellent comment 🏆
In 2023 I bought my dream bike a 2000 Heritage Springer. It was going to be my lower mileage distance bike but miles were piling up quick so in 2024 I bought a 2009 Road King. That is my new distance bike and I only run my Heritage Springer about once a week.
Definitely a good formula
I’m still waiting for some Pan America content. Keep crushing it homie!
I promise it is on the list!
RIDE EM ALL
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Even on a M8 the Fab28 sounds, well, fab! ;)
That's why I run that exhaust on all of my bikes #thewinningformula
I can’t wait for my Stage one to get done lol
Nice! Winter is always a good time for that type of work
@ yeah my man! 5th build. Can’t wait on this platform. Feels so weird not being on bagger but so right if that makes sense?
There is something about riding a particular in a way it was not intended to do, dynas to Sturgis etc. however I totally understand the comfort level and the ability to ride longer distances with less effort, Ive rode distances on a hard tail chopper and looking back was pretty ridiculous , however to this day being ridiculous is worn like a badge of honor, to be the straight and narrow where's the fun in that?
Agreed
Surprised you don’t get the FXLRST in the Midnight Firestorm with the ghost flames.
Oh don't worry, I'm trying to get my hands on one soon to show you guys the low down on that new scheme
Never say never lol
Congrats
Truth
morning brother
☕️⚡️
Honestlybi loved tge old format. Idk ...the new ones cool but it just feels more gimmicky eith the effects. Dint mean ghst in s bad way I guess just different. I love the channel either way been watching since the 1st videos I had 6 bikes myself every era of dyna. I ride a 2016 lowrider s building a 16 dyna street bob fxrp have a super glide fxrt I had a 03 and 04 anniversary lowrider and had an 06 superglide . I've had a tone of Harleys and other bikes besides these. Soi get your feelings on the leap to tge bagger. Ive wanted a street glide st or special for a few years fir the comfort etc but just haven't pulled tge trigger tet.
Defintiely hold on to those anniversarys if you still have them
Ride on
🙏🏼
lets goooooooooooo
🙌🏼
Bro who dose your paint jobs on your bikes
The ST was Trip Six Customs in Canada, and Dyna was Fast Life Garage from Texas
5:45 Before making a final decision, remember you can always add a Chopped TourPak to your FXLRST, and it becomes a bagger! I did it and ran 15k miles in 4 months last year with ease!
After seeing a couple other people over the years go that route, I was definitely intrigued - However, I've gotten away with numerous cross country trips with just a quality sissy bar bag, so never really felt like I needed to go the tour pack route, even now as I enter a bagger journey
@FXDLSBrooklyn I hear ya! There's something about the old school ruggedness. That's one of the reasons I loved my FatBob. I felt I was living the essence of freedom. I do like my new layout for practical reasons. I'll share some photos on the patreon app of my FatBob layout that I've been running for 5 years, and last spring was the last run from WA to AZ & back. Last summer I began my next journey in new dogs with the Low Rider ST. It was definitely easier, especially in poor weather.
That is so cool how the riding gear matches the bike.
I mean that’s that’s so,
POWER RANGER.
Yeah.
Very original! No one's ever said that before - Thanks for checking it out! 😝
I refuse to buy any bike with an air intake that's louder than the exhaust...Evo and twin cam forever.
But have you ridden one yet?
If you have the money..... Live free bro
I have motorcycles, not money - I don't know many people who have both
Gotta change the name of the channel now bro.... your FXDLS gets no love from its daddy anymore, like a neglected step child
Don't worry, it will always be in the mix - That's my forever bike
First world problems 😂😂😂
Oh by no means would I call any of these problems - Thanks for checking it out Martin 🙃
Keep up the good work! Waiting for the bagger build!
Booo g a uy
