Everyone needs a bagger but also everyone needs an ST, FXR and DYNA. Love them all
Truth - Appreciate you guys stopping by
You absolutely nailed it in this video man. These new baggers are just perfect.
1. They are lighter than past baggers.
2. Handling, and geometry lends itself so well to performance touring.
3. Endless upgradeability.
4. Price point - I got my 24 for under $25K brand new!
Ill always love Dyna's and the new LR platform, but they can not compete in this space.
Super pumped for the new content.
The touring chassis being based off the FXR, by far the best frame ever built. I still favor the Road King the most. I wish they would have updated it this year.
There's an undeniable commonality between the two, hence why we've seen so many Road King FXR inspired builds
@FXDLSBrooklyn Yes, that's why I have always favored the road king. I was 17 and the first street bike I wanted was a 93 FXR. The smartest move HD did was understand the FXR chassis was perfect for the touring platform.
@@maconmiles2057 RT/ST fairing on a road king, does it do anything for you?
@timmer_adv I don't currently own a road king. I have a street glide. But I have seen the ST fairing on a road king and I think looks good, and they say the wind protection is same as on the low rider. I also like the road warrior fairing. Not as much protection.
@timmer_adv Also Brooklyn has done a review on all those fairings. He does a good break down of each one.
We just started our 24 Road Glide Police build. Might swap a fxrt fairing on it to get a little thinner but love it on the road so far.
Can't wait to see it man - When do you think it will be completed?
Beautiful! Those new updated baggers are especially cool. Look forward to more bagger content for sure
Thank you Anton!
You lined it out perfectly by showing the frames. An old geezer (before I became an "og") said basically, 'the way a bike handles begins with the frame and rake.' This in a time of very strange "choppers". Yeah- my original wide glide is in my 'slim'. It's the DNA that strated in 1903 and you certainly prove that!
Thank you man, appreciate you weighing in!
I went from Bagger to “FXR”Definitely agree.
Truth
Watching this as I sip coffee, sitting in my own “All Roads Lead to Ultra” merch. 🤘
☕️⚡️
Love it bro! I just got a 19 FLHXS myself, welcome to the bagger club. Dyna's are awesome, and yours are no exception, but there's just something about having that street rod-esque bagger that makes riding fun. My old man used to have a full dresser and he would take me on lots of road trips, so I'm a bit partial to that platform. Can't wait to see what kind of mods you'll put on that thing!
Thanks man! Stayed tuned, it's going to be wild
Oh that’s good. That’s very good.
🙌🏼
So excited to see this build!
It's about to be a wild one
@ hell yeah! Gonna be paint scheme close to the ST’s ?
The only constant in life is change. NO ONE stays the same and our tastes must evolve to keep things fresh and new. I have seen an obsession over the FXR of late. If I wanted a modern FXR I would start with a Road King and build everything with the latest components. I believe Advanblack offers an FXR front fascia that bolts right up to the Road King. Nothing wrong with baggers!
I never understood this until I laid down the heavy bagger miles - They truly are kin
It’s funny. Because this video came out the SAME DAY I traded my Low Rider ST in for a road glide 😂😂😂
Destiny
Officially Bagger Bros now!! our trip to the northeast is planned for June with Brooklyn at the top of my photo opportunity list✌🏾✌🏾
Let's get it!
This is gonna be some great content
Love it
Appreciate you man!
Very pumped about the new direction but I like the Dyna and ST content aswell. Keep the great videos coming.
I’ve been saying this about the frame similarities for years. My older Road Kings are now gone and a new Road Glide was delivered last week. I can hardly wait to point this new bike south and head to the Black Hills.
Boom! Maybe I'll see you there!
I was thinking of abandoning baggers in general - I bought a low rider st as part of the transition. But then I test road the 2024 road glide. It handles like a softail and feels a good 200 pounds lighter than it actually is. I wouldn’t ride my road glide on 2nd avenue in Brooklyn (unless they have finally fixed the potholes) but on an open road you can’t beat it.
Truth - I've ridden it plenty through Brooklyn, and it handled the streets with no issues
Beautiful bikes... Congrats... can't wait to see your content with them 🤘😝🤘
Thank you! More coming soon
i contemplated getting rid of my ST for a road glide but i couldnt bring myself to do it since its not much of an upgrade from what i have. i will say the newer bikes are def good for people that dont really mod their bikes and ride them how they are from the factory.
Totally agree - I don't think there's ever been a time where stock bikes were as rideable as they are now
Your video production is really improved. Very impressive upgrades, my friend…..beautiful job…someday, I shall join my brothers on Bagger Road…but not yet.
Thank you man and thank you for the support on Patreon!
Hopefully one day I can ride with you.
Came to your videos for the ST content was curious on that bike ... but I love my street glide .... still love your videos
That's awesome! I still love my ST and that bike is going nowhere, as it provides a completely different experience
As I am aging into "geezer" territory, I look forward to your analysis as Harley appears to have finally taken the geezer out of the glide and produced a real man's touring platform. It's been 20 years since my first and only Harley and with the 25' release, feel HD has refined its offerings enough to compel me to consider another for these final years; Pan-Am, ST, Glide, all potential candidates.
Fun fact: A FreeWheeler will out corner any 2-wheel HD; try one, you'll be a changed man!
I would have to agree with that first statement - Definitely coming from the younger side of the rider base, it checks off many boxes for me
Looking forward to seeing what you do with your baggers¡
Stay tuned 😎
I rode my buddies 2024 Road Glide last weekend. It is amazing how much different the 2024 feels even compared to the 2023, in a good way. I still prefer the Indian Challenger though and was quickly reminded why I love my Dyna after getting back on it after riding his Road Glide all day. I do agree with you about the FXR being more like the new road glide compared to the low rider st.
The FXR DNA definitely flows through these bikes, undeniable
Morning brothers 🖤 😎
☕️⚡️
Never rode a bagger, only choppers and Honda cruisers, so I can't talk crap, they just don't speak to me, I feel like you might as well drive a car if you want a bike with bells and whistles and rides perfect in everyway. Although I do respect and understand being on two wheels 🤙so ride safe and cheers
I used to feel the same, but the modern renditions are something else
@FXDLSBrooklyn for sure , I can't knock it if I've never tried it! Especially crushing miles, I'm sure it's amazing
With all trouble my fxdls is giving me, I wish I kept my road glide and built up. I would've saved a lot of money.
That's probably true
Shadetree surgeon himself always says the fxr never went away it just went to the touring platform
He recently subscribed to the channel - One of the highest points of my content creation career
As a FX Chassis Devotee ....This endorsement of FL Chassis has me IN my feelings haha
I'm deadass going to get canceled for this one
The team of engineers at HD in the seventies that were working on the NOVA project had the mission to compete with the seventies models that already existed, UJM with triangulated frames and steep rakes and adjusted trail via the position of the triple trees. Theres no doubt in my mind that those engineers played close attention the Gold Wing which they were sure was going to be a long term model for the company as would be the CB750. They knew that modifying the 4-speed frame tooling to make the 4-speed frame handle as well would be cost prohibitive, but with bias ply tires would the average weekend parade rider even notice?
HD had the advantage in that the Vtwin allowed for a thin, torquey powerplant that could be tucked into the width of the frame for the most part and the torque provided forward motion instead of side to side which felt organic pulling hard out of corners. Im sure the engineers didn't account for bad marketing, a very biased and hateful mainstream motorcycle press reception, a (continuing) disconnect between the dealers and the corporation, traditionalist and Vaughn Beals. We are seeing the best of those results now.
The FXR frame and touring frame share better tubing bending, better welding, cad assisted engineering, rubber mounting and triangulated seating area, but the forward part of the frames are wildly different. The rake and trail on a touring model were designed for high-speed stability with a load. Modern BaggerGP engineers discovered that by stiffening the triple trees on the touring frame created stabilty that rivals sport bikes. (Yours truly just happens to be sitting on a set of said BaggerGP triple trees) and with enough ground clearance, can flat embaress Sunday morning Ricky Racers in brightly colored leather oneies, all while sporting a tourpak, floorboards and a passenger enjoying the arm rest and 5X7's.
Of course, as your riding style has progressed with your gear, the touring platform feels natural, and of course I'm saving a coffee cup holder for the day you're ready for kaki shorts, black shorts and sandals!!!!
Some knowledge from Flynch is always a solid way to start the day, thank you man - Hoping we can get a ride in soon ☕️⚡️
Honest to god question, your RWD fairing for your Dyna, did you have any issues with rattling or found yourself needing to adjust things that weren't fitting flush or anything of the like? Cheers.
Those on Baggers can't be boozers!
I enjoy my Ultra Classic and my Heritage and my FXR. I have no inclination to buy anything new. But if they were to remake the FXR with the 117 H. O. motor for around $20k, I'd be very interested!
Agreed - Until that happens though, these modern baggers undeniably are crushing it
Check out the Buell Super Cruiser. Very cool bike coming soon
Great video work, I am glad you like your bikes, but I am not a fan of cars on 2 wheels, do not like faring, windshield, gauges and led screens. I have a Deuce and a Sportser, I like the raw rough riding, even on long trips.
Thanks man! I used to say the same thing, then I rode one of these coast to coast and back - It's not that one is necessarily better, it's that they provide different experiences
5:18 and also dropped one XD
That's a deep cut Paul
I bought my 2024 Road Glide a little over a month ago. It’s so awesome in every way. It offers performance, utility, and comfort. Yeah it’s heavy but the weight becomes less of an issue once you learn how to ride it, which in turn makes you a better rider overall.
Very good point - If you have the riding skill, the weight is just, well, weight
I’m pretty new to the channel. What is “the iron price”?
Pushing through the hard times, whether it be on or off the bike
I loved my bagger, but let’s be honest… they are way over priced for what they are
Having put down heavy miles on them, I just disagree - If it matches you're riding style, I actually think its a good deal
@ We put about 10k on mine in the year I had it. It was a good bike, but it’s not close to being worth the 29k Harley wants, which ends up being 38k+ after the dealer screws you and you put aftermarket parts on the bike to make it decent. The Harley baggers have terrible buffeting. I tried different helmets, shields, goofy looking deflectors… never went away. The indian baggers have far more features (like an adjustable windshield to control buffet), comfort, etc and are water cooled making more power with a smaller engine, and still some how cost less. Even the gold wing has features that make it worth that price, in addition to the fact that it has 3x the moving parts inside the engine. The literal only thing the Harley does better than these 2 bikes off the floor is look better. The others outpace it in every way. Do you know how much r&d money these other companies are putting into their bikes while Harley just coasts by and raises prices? Harley is selling us a 10 year old bike (on a nearly 20 year old chassis) with minor tweaks and new body work. In my opinion they should be priced around 23-25k seeing how much less bike you get vs others. I’m a Harley guy, so of course I still “like” the Harley baggers more, but I refuse to buy another one until Harley catches up with other brands or lowers their price.
Roots roots roots. You'll always come back, it's ok to explore
I don't disagree, which is why I'll always keep my Dyna and FXR - However, I'm very much enjoying the other side right now
What are your thoughts on biker clubs?
I dont get the weight/sluggish clame. Modern baggers are way heavier than pre 2009 models
Just look at the spec sheets over the years, even if it is from 2009 and on
Don't test ride the new touring models if you love your bike/bikes. I was sold within the first mile.
Truth.
30k for one of these bad boys…..he’ll no
52k for the cvo. 😂. Beautiful bike tho.
That's why there's options

Baggers are just cars without doors. About as boring as they come unless you are over 70
I am so looking forward to proving you wrong 🫶🏻
@@FXDLSBrooklyn Softail baggers are excluded!
Kinda sounds like you're selling out for views my guy! Guess you gotta pay the bills...
🫶🏻
Baggers are wack.
They used a touring frame with a sportster front end to make the FXR. In case your not clear.
