I agree with Sue Straw, there are no words to describe it, like hearing every American who ever lived, along with the voice of God singing our national anthem through him into his violin for me to FEEL the way I do every time I hear it. Simply one of the most beautiful solos of this I've heard. I recently started learning violin as an adult and hearing pieces played like this gives me the inspiration and motivation to keep at it.

Marvelous rendition of our National Anthem. I've always believed our Anthem stood for all the men and women, regardless of race or religion, those that have performed some measure of service for our country. That service might be being responsible parents or performing a public service or helping a neighbor and of course serving in the military. For me it doesn't represent whomever happens to be the sitting president or the DC ranks of government but the people. To protest it is an insult to the most sacred symbol that represents the very people that have allowed you to live in this great country.

the accoustics of that studio are godly
Ren...the acoustics in this studio inside the Wanda Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University are godly! But I have a confession to make...I recorded the audio in another space and shot the video in this large rehearsal/tracking studio. The audio was done with a rode nt5 stereo mic placed about 8-10 feet away in the center of the atrium of The Meinders’s School of Business - also on the campus of Oklahoma City University. This arrangement seems crazy hard.. And Im not a bad violinist I like to think lmao
I never ended up filming it, sadly. I did perform it at his retirement, though! It wasn't that difficult - the base of the song is still the same, there's just a lot of trills and things thrown in, You've got to be precise with the double stops and chords though. There's a link to the sheet music in the song description.

It's going well, thank you ! I play a lot of tunes by ear, currently working on some of the Beatles oldies (Eleanor Rigby, Norwegian Wood and so on). Star Spangled Banner - yup - but NOT at THAT level although, I have a reasonable, first-pos version incorporating a bit of my own "style" hahaha ! It's a great journey with this instrument, I'm loving every minute of it!

just my opinion,really love this cover of you, you add a lot of techniques and it sounds really really awesome, i've heard some other covers, they add too many techniques that i didn't even know if that was star spangled banner, they sounded kind of annoying

I had one promo video up for a while (the only one I made), but I made it "private" because I was embarrassed by the TONS of mistakes I made....lol
I've only been learning the violin for 2 and a half years, self taught as an adult, so I do not have the confidence to show my music on RUclips yet.
I only made a video to send out to retirement homes for gigs, which I am already doing. Other than that, I started busking on my 3rd month of playing the violin with only 3 songs :-) If you would kindly share an e-mail address with me, I could add that to the few select people I shared the video with....if you are interested in viewing.
