Two questions: If it’s not political persecution then why didn’t they take him to court 3 and half years ago? Is it just a coincidence that they decided to take him to court for felony charges MONTHS before the election?
As a Canadian, my country is in utter shambles right now and in desperate need of help. HOWEVER, watching the debate was almost like a breath of fresh air. For once I didn't have to focus on the utter incompetence of our politicians here, I could watch in horror and fascination at the state of America. God help us both, we need it.

Two separate things - 1. Trump (and his team) is indeed facing political persecution and has been for years, and 2. He’s NOT a Christian darling.
And him being not a Christian is OK.
As long as he (or whomever is the president) has good judgment and even a bit of a belief in a higher power.
Its more important to me that the president believes in a good and prosperous America.

This is a political persecution because all these things could have been tried a long time ago if they indeed had an issue with it. They did not try him. Secondly, if you did not know, the statute of limitations had passed. They extended an already elapsed statute of limitations. Third, they manipulated the law in NYC out of all places to recategorize some misdemeanors as felonies. I do not think he is a saint but the timing of this reeks of political abuse, not to mention the actual abuse of power that did take place.

It might sound like I’m one sided on this but the American people should have known better. And I hope people finally wake up and see that our leaders aren’t even making the day to day important tasks. Joe was like queen Elizabeth in the style of just being a figure head for the American people instead of an actual sound minded leader.

If you go back as far as you can, is there any time when we've truly had an ideal candidate running? I think the bottom line is, we need to remember that we cannot be saved by a common man or our government. We need to pray for leadership that allows freedom of religion and worship. From there, the church, which includes we & me, needs to do its job.

I think he assumes that they blame him for so much that he has to be guilty of some of it not realizing how evil the deep state really is. In reality, if Trump was really guilty of something, or was really horrible for some reason, that would have come out by now. No one is perfect but this shows that Trump is actually INCREDIBLY clean. He’s been in the news forever.
It's not that pro Trump Christians believe in his innocence. They know he's not a saint. But the 34 convictions (delivered by a bought-and-paid-for DA, with the aid of a jury of "peers" gathered from a deep blue district, all of whom hate Trump), were clearly a tool employed by the Left in hopes it would get him removed from the ballot. No one can even rattle off the charges filed against him. Is he guilty? Yes. Is his offence worthy of prison time? No.

I love how people are making the golf thing the biggest deal in the world. Like it brings character and personality. People want this victim mentality of saying “the country lost” “neither candidate won”. I used to be a super strong conservative media listener but I’m so laid back about it now. I’ve started just avoiding it and realizing my vote won’t really change but that my hope is in Jesus regardless of who the leader is. You don’t have to love everything about Trump to be able to give him support considering it was his Supreme Court justice appointments that ultimately led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. That and the rock solid economy we had prior a global pandemic flipping the world on its head are reason enough for me. And I’m not someone who was pleased he got the GOP’s nomination back when the primary’s were held.
Nobody is saying the corn star thing didn’t happen - just that is in no way a felony. Seems like by definition political persecution to me. I don’t particularly like Trump but that kind of stuff is too much for me so I feel obligated to vote for him and hopefully put and end to the corruption. Doubtful he will actually do it but it’s the only chance as I see it.

I really don’t like when politicians use the Bible as a guide or excuse on how they want to govern.
That being said, no matter what one’s religious beliefs, common sense and protection of our country and its people is key in the role of government.

You are the first believer who put into words exactly what I felt about both candidates. I, at this time, don’t feel the peace of God to vote for either one. There is so much deception and division among believers on both sides. I recently shared with someone that I did not see any supporting evidence in scriptures that shows that we as believers are obligated to help put ungodly men into positions of power in this world. We’re in this world but not of it. Many would disagree with me, but I cannot, in good conscience, vote for anyone this November.

Elections aren’t personality contests they are job interviews. We aren’t electing a spiritual advisor or a best friend to hang out with, we are hiring someone to get the job done. We need to vote policies and not personalities. We must first be in pray for our country and then vote for the one who’s policies are most in line with biblical principles and God will handle the rest.

My only qusstion in all this is what do you think Trump is legitimately guilty of? It was my understanding that under the law, Presidents are given some level of legal leeway when conducting executive duties. Otherwise every president ever would've been charged at least 200 cases a day, and that's just civil cases.
We have to be careful both ways when it comes to this. You're right that we can't see Trump as this completely innocent daringly that shouldn't be touched. At the same time, we can't mistake what we think is wrong for what is actually wrong according to the law and according to God’s law. I agree America is cooked, but at the same time I'm not surprised. Didn't the Bible predict things like this would happen at the end of days? I say this is a wake up call to everyone involved in politics that the government really can't save you. That we should only trust in Jesus for our salvation. If that wasnt obvious already, it is now......

I thought that the governments role was to do both good and to suppress evil. Regarding doing good with other peoples resources, I think that is okay as long as they don't take too much from the people. Pretty sure that in the old testament, ten percent of profit went to the government, but back then the government also had the church role. Governments need money to run things, so tax makes sense if needed. Though id rather a rich government that does not need our taxes.

Biden has some kind of Dementia and has had for at least 3 years. Being "over prepared" would not matter. You just don't seem very informed. Again I do respect your opinion. I think you have hit the nail on the head. We are in trouble. I believe in forgiveness of our sins when we repent. And repentance requires change. I can look past the things someone has done if they are showing a change. Unfortunately I'm not seeing enough of that. And what scares me is all these people who aren't questioning who is currently running our government, who is pulling the strings. Is it his advisors? Is it his wife or the vice president? Is it the Clinton's or Obama's? Because it's obviously not him.

Ruslan I think the presidential debate was sad on so many accounts. I think that they both are too old, but given the fallacies Trump put forward as facts, that Trump went off on his own silly tangents of cognitive health and golf prowess - even if with a lot more vigor, that he talked back his position on the abortion pill which in my opinion cannot be equated with pro life (he is being expedient in trying to go beyond one group in this case, and hoping the one issue pro lifers don't notice), all add up to my not wanting him to have access to nuclear codes. From my perspective Biden is too old, but given the open mouthed staring going on, and because I know someone who had a cold at the same time, I do believe that the man had a congestion cold, lost voice from coughing, dopped up with cold meds, and mouth breathing to get air into his lungs. That isn't good either, but then again, I'm from Canada, and whoever the US elects is going to be a big influence on what happens here.

Hi, Ruslan: I appreciated your comment about the issue of judgment. I highly recommend the book The Arc of Empires: Seeing God in the Crisis in America by Scott Webster and Marlon Jameson. It lines up with how God is breaking the Babylonian systems of this world for His redemptive purposes. Anything that is not built on the Kingdom is getting shaken, and that is what is occurring in the U.S. and many other places right now! We have a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, though, so this is a time of great hope (Heb. 12:26-28).

The same is happening in our country today. Rather than being unified we have decided to be divided based upon which group we identify with.
We should strive for unity even amongst our differences.

Pretty sure he had overcome his stutter prior to entering politics. Some of his gaffs do appear to be a regression toward stutter rather than totally losing his memory or train of thought but the fact is that regression is caused by the same cognitive decline that causes him to misremember and lose his train of thought.

I can't believe anyone thinks either one of these guys won the debate. It was utterly horrifying. The way society is acting has proven that people are trusting man and not God. that's what's scary
I'm hesitant about Trump and I'm really waiting to see who his VP pick is. I agree about abortion. For me, their view on abortion is a window into their worldview and valuing life. It's why I can't vote for RFK Jr. Walking back shows he's seeking votes and adjusting his view on that. He makes me nervous. A way that seems right to man comes to mind with him. I think Trump is the best bet for the economy but I am wary of those that idolize him. In all honesty, whoever it is, God is in control and it's all for His purpose. Part of me just wanted to write "Jesus" in the ballot when it looked like Vivek was going to be his VP. I pray for an announcement of a born again VP and that Trump greed to Bible studying and discipleship.
With the NY case, it's not that I believe he was completely innocent but more of the stretching and manipulating of the law. I dont think it was right that the prosecutor didn't have to prove am initial crime that justified the case after the statue of limitations. It's more about our freedoms and the rule of law for me. They really seem to be biting at the bit to use the judicial system for those who disagree and I can see it quickly leading to Christian speech.
Having said that, I'm not afraid of a little persecution and I do believe the American church needs some purifying fire.

Can someone genuinely tell me what is going to get worse with Trump as president. When he was President every day as an average American citizen was easier to get through. It felt I was getting paid fair wages and had a chance to get further in life. If a potato was running against Joe Biden, I would vote for the potato.
