Those mayans are fun. Catching the big ones, 4 pounds some of them on little #14 dry flies is hard to beat. They also fight harder than peas imo.

MAny times you are using a 5wt.. What is yourFly Line & Leader Setup on the 5wt, fishing these urban S. Fla. exotics and the micro poon ? Line Type, Butt-Mid-Tippet type and size ?
New to fresh water fly stuff, many many years of spin tackle.
Like your videos form Mimai.. I fished the Bay with BFW for years but seldon used Fly tackle.

How big do the bass get?

the state record is somewhere around 10-11lbs these days, but in their natural habitat in in south america they get considerably larger.

🌴 those were some nice fish , just wondering if you ever tried a tying a bigger version of that fly to see if it would discourage the small peacocks from hitting it , 🤔 and fishing while there’s a front coming through is usually pretty good , ha , unless your in a boat trying to outrun it , and it just started pouring rain as I’m typing this 💦😄 those peacocks colors are just so cool , any thing getting done on the John boat ? Did you get it registered yet?

Not yet! Haven’t titled and registered it but I just got my outboard back yesterday from the mechanic. Video coming up!

@@Eric.Estrada glad ya see ya got the motor back , I finally got the title and registration done on project nano skiff and the trailer sat down at the DMV for 2 hours and it cost me 91 bucks but it’s finally done the heat and rain are stopping me from working on it cause it’s all outside, bought stuff to make guides for the trailer yesterday, do you know some body that makes poling platforms , ? I need down sized version , my motor is still waiting for parts 😟
