Very nice review! I have fuji xt20and wanted to get xt30 as my main cam for shooting but i still wanted to try sony to really see the difference between the two brands
Overall I prefer the xt30 because of the nicer colours and higher bitrate. At the same time, the a6400 is a little better with AF, better video in low light, and it’s weather sealed.
I have really been liking the look of the X-T30, especially the night time recordings. The lighting looks much better and also there seems to be more detail. At this rate though, it;s probably going to take me a year to decide what camera i want to spend $2000 on....
I'm definitely glad I saw this. I'm leaning towards the X-T30 II because it just seems more powerful than the Sony, plus it can output 10-bit over HDMI for recording to an Atomos device. But the Fuji hasn't got HLG, so if I plan to do any kind of HDR video I have to actually shoot F-Log and grade it on my iPad with LumaFusion (I don't have Resolve Studio yet). I'll probably end up going for the Fuji just because I've shot digital Sony cams for years and it's time to change architectures, especially since Sony no longer supports A-mount.
I am confused between sony 6400 and Fuji Xs10? For RUclips content and family And street Photography Can you help? As both xt30 and xs10 sharing same sensor
thanks for this detailing video.. Your video is so much comfortable for understanding all comparisons & all things more detailly.. take love from Bangladesh..
I like the Fuji colours, whereas with the Sony you need to tweak the picture profiles to get the best out of it (excluding of course Log profiles and colour grading in post). The Sony also has the HLG profiles that are nice workaround to get more dynamic range without spending too much time grading in post.
At first instance, I would say both because there is so much more that goes into a short film than just the camera. But if we look specifically on specs and quality, I find the skin tones more pleasant on the Fuji, and it also shows a bit less noise at high ISO. And you can have a headphone output with the USB port. And 10-bit 4:2:2 via the HDMI output is not a bad thing either for a short film and colour grading. So perhaps the X-T30 is a more interesting choice.
Hey....loved the video....I have one query...I wanted to buy a new camera... would you recommend a6400+ all 3 sigma f1.4 lenses....or the a7iii+kit lens or a7iii+28f2 lens? Please..it will be really helpful
Sorry, but what I saw was different in the still comparison, where the Fuji was 2/3 of a stop darker. When you adjusted it "To be the same." I saw the Fuji as a bit lighter. Please check again and ask a couple of other people how they see it.
I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you're saying, but I don't see the Fuji a bit brighter. Plus even if it was, it would be very minor difference that wouldn't affect the results (it might be a bit less than 2/3Ev but exposure only works in 1/3 steps on the cameras).
@@MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons I was only making a small point about a very small point on your video. But to take it a bit further: Did you ask a few people to look at it and tell you if they saw a slight difference? I doubt it.
Another small point: I noticed that you receive a payment from B&H. I do have an opinion about them compared to people who receive a commission from Amazon. I consider B&H a good and fair STORE, I have visited and bought from them many years ago I do not like A´ZON the Destroyer of Worlds (Not meant seriously) I don´t do anything against them other than avoiding buying from them, as well as asking my Subs. and students to do the same, and why I have my opinion. What you don´t mention, like 95+% of salespeople on YT is say how much (3%?) and how much total you made in the past years. I am only saying this to point out the difference between being honest, as you have been, and complete honesty. I do not expect you to do more than you do and have absolutely against you for doing what you have done. It is standard procedure on YT.
THIS REVIEW FORGOT MAIN THING IN 4K - DETAILS IN VIDEO. Not all 1080 or 4k is the same. I can confirm that because i own Samsung NX1 which have best 4k and other cameras had 4k too but was way more soft and looked like upscaled. You can tell by 120p test in this video that Sony have more detailed video. Bad that authors did not showed us 100% crops of videos so we could compare details.
what you want to mention is Oversampling in 4K (also in FullHD). The NX1 was one of the first wich did the full 6K Sensor to 4K internal sampling, which looks sharper then line-skipping etc. The Fuji and Sony use exact same Technology here. In FullHD is more difficult to sample, Manufaktures reach little different results. The Fuji doesn a better job and excellent HD
Stop asking who's the winner. Sony wins in autofocus and face detection, log profile, ergonomics and video. Fuji wins in color skin, film simulation and I would add an important info: cheaper price lenses than Sony (overall) and top quality
4:2:2 , 10bit ??? Rolling shutter? ISO? No crop in 4K compared to 1,2x of the Sony? Better 1080p? 200mb/sec bitrate? The fundamental characteristics for a video quality of the Fuji are not enough for better video??? LITTLE BIT better AF is your only thing that is decisive for video quality? :-D
Vasko Nakovski Sony has waay better autofocus, can film for more than 10 minutes, has a flip screen, and crop doesn’t matter virtually at all. Fuji has a slightly better 1080p than the Sony but so does a canon at this price point. You’re buying the Sony for its 4K. Otherwise you’re comparing a canon against the Fuji. I think that’s what he meant by video
The night time recording looks much better on the Fuji from what i have seen. If i was to mount it in my car to record driving, which camera would perform better?
At the moment we're putting our efforts into our mirrorless comparison website, and the video comparisons are part of our full comparisons on the website.

Many thanks for the comparative review. Had Sony 6300, now two 6400 + Sigma 16mm 1.4, Sony 35mm and Sony 18-105. Set just FIRE! Lois!

Really liking the side by side comparisons. I just got to test out an X-T20 and it's a nice piece of machinery. Hoping to upgrade my daily driver.

Thanks!
increbible the sony and the fuji, but for me sony is better overall. The focus system is fantastic
GREAT work! Thanks for a great review!

Xt30 is the best
sorry, i don'y understand.. witch one have the crop on the sensor in video mode?..thanks!!!
the A6400 crops by approximately 1.2x when recording 4K/30p
the X-T30 crops by 1.29x when recording at Full HD/120fps
great work..very good comparaison, thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
your colour grading looks really nice
which one do you recommend?

This is an excellent video. A must watch for anyone considering any APS-C camera!
Thanks!
12:55 after 3200 to iso 6400 sony moved focus (hairs). Use manual please.
Manual focus was used. It's the aperture that is changing, and you get more depth of field as the ISO increases.
@@MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons then it was necessary to fix aperture . I have long tried to understand why Sony sharper until i flipped browse before
@@MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons btw very good compare
But then the only value left to change is the shutter speed, which can cause some flickering and banding when it becomes to fast.
which is better? for cinematic video or predebut shoot? i got fujifilm xa5 and i want to upgrade...to xt30 or a6400

do you plan on testing bmpcc4k ? thanks
Not sure, it depends if I can get one to test.
Still no 4k60 for any APS-C Sony Camera and FHD looks muddy compared to others.
Great comparison.
Sony is the king of autofocus.
Yes but colour science and Jpg Sooc are most worst then other in apsc line
Would autofocus play a part in driving? I mean using it to film driving in the country and such?
Thank you so much (the background starts to get clearer as the iso rises from 800? why is this :/ )
Because I close the aperture as I raise the ISO.
@@MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons 😅 im sorry, thank you so much 🙏
No problem!
So, who wins?
Great work!

The three Sigma lenses are excellent so you would have a nice set with the a6400, while also spending less money. It's definitely a nice option.
I have A7iii with Tamron 28-75 and A6400 with Sigma trio. I can also use my E mount lenses interchangeably across platform.
Which of the two takes better pictures?

10 min clip lenght on the fuji. Just why? Cant see any technical reasons, but its absolutely a pain in the ass during filming a wedding or so...
Cant even do a school project with it. Plus the af sucks.
