I know many people think the Olsen twins are a bit strange, but I've always felt sorry for them. The year Full House ended was the same year that their parents got divorced. How horrifying that had to be for them. Losing both sets of family at the same time...at such a young age. But hearing lately about how compassionate and loving Bob Saget was, I'm sure he did his best to continue to be their surrogate father when they needed him through-out the years. I was gutted when Betty passed, but at least I could find comfort in the fact that she lived a very long life and had a storied career. Bob still had decades left of his art left to share with us. This should serve as a reminder to all of us that life is fleeting and that none of us is guaranteed a tomorrow.
I feel the exact same way. Betty had 100 full, wonderful years. It was her time. We were robbed blind of Bob. He should have easily been around for at least another 25-30 years. This was a very hard pill to swallow.
I happened to see Bob, in passing, at the Crest Cafe in San Diego, CA, back in the mid 2000’s. I didn’t think much of it since I saw him as any other celeb trying to go about their lives. Looking back now, I feel that sense of being star struck having been able to see him in person, even if ever so briefly. After learning more about him, all I can say was that the man was serious but funny and compassionate. RIP Bob.
