This is very well put! I totally agree with you! I feel really sad for them. I can't imagine what it was like to have to make the kind of sacrifices that they had to make growing up. If you read some of their autobiographies, particularly the last one they released, they say they were always included in every meeting, every discussion and they were always quoted as executive producers on their straight to video movies. They have said before they respect their parents for including them because even though they didn’t understand everything, they learnt from it and felt involved. I think them not liking their upbringing is more to do with the fame side of things, I don’t think they regretted the hard work, otherwise they’d be doing nothing but living on their riches now. As a parent, it must be very hard to decide what’s right and what your children are going to be thankful for when they’re older.

I loved Mary-Kate and Ashley growing up, they were a huge influence on me, but I did always feel a little bad for them, especially as they got older. They were hardly considered people, they were "The Olsen Twins" for so long, they weren't even individual people in the public eye. They have always been beautiful, and when Mary-Kate opened up about her eating disorder my heart broke for her. There were so many tabloids talking shit about them both and so many haters out there, of course that tool a toll on her. I totally love that they've stepped back and said, "No, leave us alone. We gave you our childhoods, now let us have our lives."

Between running such a business, friends (the have loads of them - if you look, they have attended several weddings in the last year alone), family, hobbies, and MK's husband/step-children, how would anyone have time to co-star on television shows or attend vapid Hollywood events? And, in my opinion, how they look is no one's business but their own. An eating disorder and smoking heavily ages the body. Almost everyone in wealthy circles has some sort of work done these days (honestly, most people who can afford to have it done have it done), so if they have had work it certainly shouldn't be shocking. They seem truly happy when videos surface of them with friends and loved ones. They are genuinely talented. Good for them.

I remember that article in Marie Claire, it was eye-opening and somber 😔. My son attends an Arts and Sciences Academy in which last year was visited by some Disney execs... the school put on a comedy improv of sorts, my boy was a huge hit (he really is a ham and quite charming). I was contacted by these executives, long story short they wanted him to audition, possibly sign him, etc. Even the school administrators were encouraging/pushing me to allow him. I decided against the whole thing. It seems fun, you know, exciting... all the glitz and glamor, but at what cost? My child was not enthusiastic, he likes performing at school and our local theaters, more of a hobby, I suppose. I wonder if he would have been excited about it and convinced me... I wonder if I would have allowed him. Thank goodness he wasn't keen about it! I admire Mary Kate and Ashley for stepping away. I hope their hearts are at peace. Blessings 🤗💞.

I always get sad when I see recent pictures of them because growing up I was huge fan, literally wouldn't leave out of blockbuster without a Mary Kate and Ashley movie. This video sort of glossed over their "fashion empire." The Row is supposedly worth an estimated $1 billion and they are at the helm and maintain creative control. Between running such a business, friends (the have loads of them - if you look, they have attended several weddings in the last year alone), family, hobbies, and MK's husband/step-children, how would anyone have time to co-star on television shows or attend vapid Hollywood events? And, in my opinion, how they look is no one's business but their own. An eating disorder and smoking heavily ages the body. Almost everyone in wealthy circles has some sort of work done these days (honestly, most people who can afford to have it done have it done), so if they have had work it certainly shouldn't be shocking. They seem truly happy when videos surface of them with friends and loved ones. They are genuinely talented. Good for them.

I remember that article in Marie Claire, it was eye-opening and somber 😔. My son attends an Arts and Sciences Academy in which last year was visited by some Disney execs... the school put on a comedy improv of sorts, my boy was a huge hit (he really is a ham and quite charming). I was contacted by these executives, long story short they wanted him to audition, possibly sign him, etc. Even the school administrators were encouraging/pushing me to allow him. I decided against the whole thing. It seems fun, you know, exciting... all the glitz and glamor, but at what cost? My child was not enthusiastic, he likes performing at school and our local theaters, more of a hobby, I suppose. I wonder if he would have been excited about it and convinced me... I wonder if I would have allowed him. Thank goodness he wasn't keen about it! I admire Mary Kate and Ashley for stepping away. I hope their hearts are at peace. Blessings 🤗💞.
