Isn’t She Lovely…written for his newborn daughter! 💕
I was going to recommend the same song. There's a beautiful harmonica bridge in Isn't She Lovely. A fantastic tune.
That song was still popular the year I was born, and my mom used to sing it to me 😊
Emotional while he is is with his baby! Lovely ❤❤❤
Yes, as parents of two daughters, they need to listen to this.
My sis in law used to work at the Capitol building in LA. One day while she was heavily pregnant with my niece Stevie sang this to her while touching her bump, I loved him more when she told me the story. ✌️
You probably have no idea just how deep Stevie’s catalog really is. You had to live thru the 70s, 80s and 90s to appreciate him fully. Years and years of him turning out top quality compositions and music. He truly is a national treasure. Can’t say I have an absolute favorite but I have to mention two in particular…..You Are the Sunshine of My Life. The other one is Until you Come Back To Me. The latter being a hit recorded by Aretha Franklin and was written by Stevie when he was 14 years old. Amazing. Love, love Stevie Wonder. Thanks for the great reactions. 👏👏🥰
I said it before. They could do a Stevie song every week for months and still not go through half of his best songs.
You forgot the 60's. Some of us were actually around back then😁
He also had hits in the 1960s, several of them.
Steve definitely have a deep ocean of hits!!!
Hold on a sec you left out the 60s when teenage Stevie wrote and composed this #1 hit as well as Uptight, I was made to love her, For once in my Life, Signed Sealed Delivered.
Everything Stevie Wonder touched was a hit. He is a national treasure!
Stevie has a library of hits so large he can do a whole show of nothing but hits, absolute musical genius and national treasure.
He could sing all day, and not run out of hits to perform. Top of the heap talent. Equals anyone, including the Beatles, Bowie, Zeppelin, etc, infinity.
True
"Songs in the Key of Life" was a real breakthrough in England for Stevie. We played the heck out it, just great vibes.
One of the greatest albums ever made; it’s pretty much perfect.
@@smd2169I second this emotion.
"Breakthrough?"
His Breakthrough Albums were Talking Book, Innervisions and Fullfillingness First Finale.
One of my favourites from Stevie Wonder from this period is Angie Girl.
The one that breaks me is "ISN'T SHE LOVELY" he wrote for his daughter. I sang it to my own daughter, along with this one, when she was a baby. I sang to all three of my children, but I had to stop because I nearly went broke paying for the therapy they needed due to the fact that their mother sang to them.😅
😂
My kids would "gently" slap my wife on the face when she sang to them She couldn't and still can't carry a tune in bucket.🎵🎶🪣🚫😂
Yes, and listen to the long one from 'Songs in the Key of Life' where the song starts off with a baby's first cry recorded during an actual childbirth, the beat matching the baby's heartbeat.
Made me lol. My son was 2 when he first said “Mommy please don’t sing”. 🤣🤣🤣
lol!
Stevie was about 16 when he recorded this on the Motown Label. That's when he was known as "Little Stevie Wonder." He was discovered at a very young age.
Actually recorded it right before his 18th birthday and released when he was 19 in '69
It don`t get any better than Stevie...One of the small handful of artist who never made a bad song.
60s Stevie Wonder is my fav. Love this song. Maybe next one by him could be " I was made to love her" (1967) or " Yester me Yester you yesterday" (1969) 😊
“Little Stevie Wonder!” I remember seeing him on Tv in black and white!
He was on the Ed Sullivan show in the 60s.
A good 70's one of his that still has that 60's sound is If You Really Love Me from 71
I'd even toss in "Uptight (Everythings' Alright)."
Finally, my favorite Stevie Wonder song! Now you can check out You are the Sunshine of my Life!
Great choice, his vocals really shine. This is my 3rd favorite Stevie song after Sir Duke and Superstition. Sunshine is #6.
@@surlechapeau so many great ones by him, I don't think I've ever heard a bad one yet.
@@magneto7930 Absolutely. I once listed all his songs I really, really, really liked, and wrote down 32 songs!
My favourite as well
Wonder wrote this song in 1967 when he was a student at Michigan School for the Blind, recording a rough version and putting into his trusty "tape box," where he kept his song ideas. He wrote the song for his girlfriend at the time, Marcia, and the song was originally titled "Oh My Marcia." By the time he recorded the song, Marcia was out of the picture, so Wonder changed the title to "My Cherie Amour."
I've never heard that before ! Thanks 😊
My late cousin went to school with him there in Lansing at the Michigan School for the Blind...I was just a kid and had no clue lol. I realized later. And kicked myself... I could have met Stevie Wonder...crap!
Jay & Amber, you will love his " "Boogie On Reggae Woman" and "For Once In My Life" !!!! Great choice on this one!!
His vocal and songwriting chops are as amazing as his instrumental prowess !!
It's difficult to understand how you never heard Stevie since he is a huge part of the history of music. His catalog is deep and magnificent.
Yeah, that's crazy to me. I know people much younger than he is who know Stevie Wonder songs.
I hardly listen to the radio these days but I think a lot of these songs are probably not getting played on the radio as much these days.
Especially from the 60's.
Plus not everybody listens to older music before their time.
#4 in 1969
His next #1 was Superstition in '72
His most underrated song: "Overjoyed" (#24 in 1986)
Oh this takes me back to a family holiday in Jersey in 1969. I bought this single to give to my boyfriend. Suffice to say this song has stood the test of time, the boyfriend didn't 🙄😂
I used to work for large music store in Los Angeles. When I was there, we had a relationship with a local radio station in LA. When their morning drive program would have musical guests, rather than renting it we would loan it to them in exchange for a plug and access to the artist (we had a lot of famous clients). One day, they needed a keyboard for Stevie Wonder which I happily provided. Not only was he 100% genuine and interested in other people (during a commercial break he asked me to tell him about my family), but I got to stand beside him while he played and sang this song. Once in a lifetime experience.
The driving "magic" sound is done by what is termed a string section. So that /does/ mean violins but also includes violas (a slightly larger and "warmer" sounding instrument), cellos, and bass violin (sometimes called a double bass or upright bass.) Backing and echoing Stevie's "La-La" parts is a flute. Fantastic song, and yes it's one that makes you feel like it should go on and on for a lot longer than it does. Great reaction, my little gumdrops! Love ya faces! 💗
There you go you said it all ! And said it right !! ✌
Stevie's La-Las were doubled with a flute, but the instruments featured at the ends of the verses were violins.
"She's Leaving Home" by the Beatles has an excellent harp intro. Definitely worth a listen. Incredibly emotional song. A true delight to the ears.
Excellent song to react to ( maybe they have ) with beautiful harp intro, double tracked I believe.
Excellent song to react to ( maybe they have ) with beautiful harp intro, double tracked I believe.
@@johnsilva9139 Yes. Definitely double tracked.
I was just going to suggest that Doc! That was the 1st song that popped into my head.
Add me as another who was going to suggest this for the harp intro!
Honestly, you can pick any song from his repertoire and find a winner. My personal favorite album is Songs in the Key of Life. Pick any song and it's like winning the lottery.
"A place in the sun" One of his best for me. So needed in today's world.
My Cherie Amour - probably the most beautiful Stevie Wonder song. I could listen to it over and over. Superstition - probably my favorite Stevie Wonder song. Memory Lane has performed Superstition as a regular part of our set list.
Stevie's voice is pure sunshine. Never fails to brighten my day.
Have you seen "Mr Holland's Opus" yet? If not, I highly suggest you react to it. As music appreciatiors and teachers, it will definitely resonate with you. Stevie's "Uptight" is featured, along with many other great pieces of music. 10/10!
Another great music based movie is Music of the Heart starring Meryl Streep. Gloria Estefan plays a teacher.
You two can only imagine how exciting a new Stevie Wonder release was back from the 60s-70s. A prodigy genius, we already knew. But each fresh phase was astounding and set the next bar for most artists to follow.
During your reaction to Almost Famous so long ago, Amber did recognize My Cheriĩe Amor playing in the background as William is lovestruck watching the doctor force Penny to regurgitate the quaaludes.
Yes, loved that scene in Almost Famous!
I love his chord progression in this song. Fabulous. This and Golden Lady are two of my favorites although I love anything Stevie.
Golden Lady doesn't get enough love.
Golden Lady so good
It is the violin. please explore Stevie Wonder's INTERVISION album you will get to hear why Stevie Wonder is a PHENOMENAL GENIUS
yes his Innervisions album's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing", "Higher Ground" and "Living For The City"(7:22 album version).
Signed, Sealed, Delivered is one of Stevie Wonder's song that can kick off a day in a good way.
Stevie Wonder is a musical genius. Incredible talent, blessed of God.
Stevie wonder. Nothing more to say. He's never done a bad song and he's collaborated and wrote alot of songs for other artists, chaka khan, Gary Byrd amongst others. A true legend of music
From Little Stevie to now, Mr. Stevie Wonder is truly a National Treasure! ❤ There is so much more for y'all to discover! 😊 Even when it comes to film! The Woman in Red, an early 80's movie, was fully soundtracked by him and its worth a watch too. 😉 So glad to see him on the channel again!
I once heard at a wedding, Stevie Wonder's song "Ribbon In The Sky." Its such a beautiful ballad, perfect for a wedding. Amber, you'd totally dig it!
That song is also one of my big faves & has an absolutely stunning official music video 😊
Here's a link for the only post I could find of it: ruclips.net/video/zO2-kIqsGL4/видео.html
Hopefully someday Stevie Wonder's official YT channel will do their own posting of this video because IMHO this is one of his absolute best songs & videos 💖
Ribbons in the Sky is Stevie's underrated.
I tell you. I'm a country music kind of man but I always stay. They wonder how you say Hey, Scott oh. It's a talent there he sings a good song all the time everyday
This Is My Favorite Song Of Stevie Wonder, I Can Play This Song Over & Over That's How Much I Love This Song 👍, Great Reaction Guy's
Stevie Wonder is a master song writer and musician. I dont know if people realize how good he is?
When he first started singing, he was so young that they called him “Little” Stevie Wonder.
i don't know if you've heard to "For Once In My Life" by Stevie, but it's like he bottled some joy and let the cork pop off so we could listen!!!!
There is never enough Stevie Wonder! I looking forward to you guys reviewing "Overjoyed", "Master Blaster" "You & I" "You Haven't Done Nothin'" and "My Love" with Julio Iglesias.
Stevie Wonder been singing since he was 12, got massive hits behind him but my favourite is the one he wrote about the birth of his daughter, "Isn't she lovely" Check that out and check out "searchin" by change, the early vibes of a truly massive star.
Stevie was probably around that age when he was in one of the Beach Party movies with Frankie Avalon and Annette
This is one of my favorite. You should listen to song in the key of life.
I've heard most of the motown stars but Stevie to me was just that little bit special because of what he had to overcome. Did you check out searching? It's Luther Vandross before he got famous
Stevie Wonder's "If it's Magic" prominently features the Harp, enjoy! I've said this many times, Stevie is to R&B/Pop what The Beatles were to Rock/Pop.
Boogie Nights by Heatwave has a harp intro👍 Also one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs is "Do I do". Its such a happy, upbeat, love song with plenty of horns!❤🎶🎺🎺🎺
I Just Called To Say I love You is definitely my favorite Stevie Wonder song
She's Leaving Home by The Beatles is probably the most famous harp pop song.
Stevie's song "If It's Magic" from his "Songs In The Key Of Life" is all about the harp and his vocals ALONE.
This song is beautiful in several ways. Great music, great lyrics, great voice.
Stevie is a true Wonder, God bless him
Beautiful, beautiful song. One of my favorites. To hear harp, listen to Stevie's "If It's Magic". After that "Ribbon In The Sky". Thank you, many blessings. ✨💜✨
Thanks, will do. My fav is Alfie live, with Burt Baccarat next to him in awe
@@jollybobo6379 You're welcome. Most definitely will have to check that one out. Many Blessings.
At the risk of harping on,She's Leaving Home by the Beatles (from the Sargeant Pepper album) is one track with some prominent harp, especially at the beginning.
"Isn't She Lovely" 1976/"Don't You Worry Bout A Thing" 1973/"Livin For The City" 1973/"Yester-Me Yester-You Yesterday" 1969
They are just a few of the plethora of hits that SW has blessed us with over the years. He was a HIT machine for over three decades (60s/70s/&80s). Please don't leave it too long before you come back to him, you have a long road ahead of you (but in the nicest possible way) ❤🎼🎶🇬🇧
Glad to see you react to more Stevie Wonder! Please check out his duet with Tom Jones on his TV Show 'This Is Tom Jones'! Also The Bee Gees appeared on Tom Jones' show too. Lots of great musical guests!
I adore this song 🎵 ❤
Next up : Living for the City . Any song from Stevie you can't go wrong.
must be the album version. Live versions always cut out the arrest scene. Its critical to the understanding of the song.
"Ebony and Ivory" was released in 1982 by Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney , it reached number one on both the UK and the US charts.... You'll love it
This is one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. It brings back great memories.
✌️😁❤️👍🎶🎶🎶
Yep, some spicy Stevie with "Boogie on Reggae Woman." I believe he played all the instruments heard on the song, just another hint about his incredible talent.
"As" is a wonderful song by Stevie Wonder, it was remade by George Michael and Mary J Blige and in the video you'll notice a young Angela Winbush from the group Renée and Angela that you guys recently reacted to.
Stevie has so so many songs. He's been my favorite artist since my mother bought the 45 of " Uptight" for me as a kid.
Check out "Higher Ground" or a hidden gem "Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You)"
Every Stevie song is amazing.
I like most of his songs recorded before 1986. After that, not so much.
My absolute favorite Stevie song since I was a kid!!
I’m telling you guys that, as a 57 year old woman, I am sad you guys are just now hearing this masterpiece. Enjoy!
"Don't You Worry About a Thing", "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", "Superstition".....so much more to explore with Stevie Wonder. Go for it!
Another great song from Stevie Wonder is All In Love Is Fair. It’s absolutely beautiful and his voice soars. Gives me chills every time I hear it.
My favorite. So beautiful soulful and groovy at the same time. He’s so unbelievably talented. Great reaction!
'Yester-ME, Yester-YOU, Yesterday' is a great Stevie Wonder song worth a listen.
One of Stevie's finest love songs! Just marvelous. Stevie has a short, beautiful harp song called "If It's Magic," from his 'Songs in the Key of Life' album. It's just him accompanied by harpist Dorothy Ashby. Also, for a wildly cool, off-the-wall track from Stevie, give a listen to "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" from '73. It will knock your socks off.
My Cherie Amour is one of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. The name literally translates my darling love. For harp music: Celtic Woman "Isle of Innisfree" is a great song both vocally and with a harp solo. Also Claire de Lune on the harp -Héloïse de Jenlis and the Fountain-Marcel Lucien Grandjany . There is a reason the instrument is associated with heaven and angels. And why its on the flag of the Republic of Ireland
I was also going to suggest “ Isn’t so lovely” The words are so beautiful and meaningful. Another artist you love is Billy Joel, you would both love his song called“ Honesty”, especially Amber🩷 also can I please once again suggest a great 80’s track for Jay by Heaven 17 called
“ Temptation”, it’s a real banger 🥰💜
Stevie wonder was given that name because on his first album he played ever instrument that was recorded! A Testament to an ultra talented man that is blind ! Another great song by him is Stay Gold that song was played at the end of the Outsiders , a movie you all need to watch!
I got my first Little Stevie Wonder record, a 45 rpm, about 1966 and it was called Fingertips where Little Stevie (10?) destroys a harmonica. Crazy talent. I mean he had to have worn that thing out!
I remember vividly 60 years ago when I heard "Fingertips" for the first time, my 9-year-old self, holding my transistor radio to my ear up the corner from my house. I stopped in my tracks to listen. I had never hears anything like it.
He’s definitely one the greatest musicians of all time. Thank you for reacting to this one
0ver joy is another beautiful song of Mr Stevie Wonder, and my favorite
One of my favourites along with “ Never had a dream come true” & “Yester me Yester you”
YES! "Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday" is a must!
I really think you guys would love his song "Place in the Sun"! Especially Amber :)
Hey guys, Kathy here. Love me some Stevie Wonder, and this is a beautiful song. You can never go wrong with any Stevie Wonder song. Not sure if you guys "like" it when it snows, but I hate it! LOL I live in NC, and we get snow most winters, but so far none, but lots of rain over the past 2 weeks, and yesterday we got 2 inches of rain. Roads flooding etc., and 25 to 40 MPH winds. Survived it with no tree's falling on my tiny house! Thank you again for your reaction and for the kind words you always say to us, your viewers. I feel blessed every time I watch one of your reactions because of how you end them, with love, kindness and positivity. You two are amazing humans. Don't ever change. Peace out - LIVE - LAUGH - LOVE
I can’t believe you never heard this before. It’s a classic old school cut. So nice!
This is one of my all-time favorite Stevie Wonder songs! It was popular in the summer of my 16th year! I'll never forget it!
It would be really difficult to pick a favorite SW song. They're ALL amazing! My favorite album is "Songs In The Key Of Life",and there's not a bad song on it. My favorite track on it is one that I've never seen requested or even talked about and that's "Joy Inside My Tears" (link below). That song just brings tears of joy to my eyes every time. There's not a bad song on it -- not even mediocre. My other favorite is from his "Innervisions" album titled "Living For The City" (links below). Thank you for this great reaction! ✌💙✌
Joy Inside My Tears - ruclips.net/video/Alk3iF9Nto4/видео.html
Living For The City - ruclips.net/video/rc0XEw4m-3w/видео.html
The live in London version of this song is outstanding .
My favorite cuts " As" ( Songs in the key of life 1976) and #1 " Golden Lady " ( Innervisions 1973)
Stevie Wonder, originally wrote this song about a girl who he knew at The Michigan School for The Blind, the title was different then, when Berry Gordy heard it he thought that it needed some development so, Stevie worked on it with Henry Cosby and Sylvia Moy, it was Moy's idea to change the title to "My Cherie Amour" as 'The Beatles' had had a big hit in '66 with "Michelle" which had a French theme, it was first released as a 'B Side' of "I Don't Know Why" which didn't do so well, but radio DJs were playing the 'B Side' more than the 'A Side' so, it was re-released as an 'A Side' and went straight into the charts at number 4.
Funny, how everyone in the 70’s knew every kind of song played on the radio! Love that we grew up with so many different kinds of music on the top ten spots on the same channels! Great times!
Glad you found this, think you'll love it.Beautifully crafted and performed.Thank you Stevie.🌹🌈
So talented. I remember when he was Little Stevie wonder.😊
Yeah, 12 years old, might be wrong but I think he was the youngest artist ever signed by Berry Gordy for Motown.
Like McCartney Stevie Wonder is a gift to Humanity whose Talent has been maintained over decades.
Yay Stevie!! Isn"t She Lovely, Living For The City, As, Overjoyed, Knocks Me Of My Feet, Higher Ground, Master Blaster, Signed Sealed Delivered ( I'm Yours)...
This is one of many beautiful songs from the legend.🤩 I recommend Superstition.
Beautiful song. Takes me back to summer 1969. Another gorgeous early Stevie hit is "A Place In The Sun"
same here
Another great song by Stevie Wonder is "Ribbon In the Sky." It's a truly wonderful ballad.
Stevie and Prince are the most prolific artist we have seen. Nobody can outdo them.
Love this song
Stevie Wonder is an absolute treasure. He just can't sing a bad song. I highly recommend reacting to a much more recent song, "Overjoyed" from 1986. It's a beautiful song with great instrumentation.
This is my second favorite song by Stevie. Number one will always be Overjoyed, its indescribably beautiful, you should give it a listen.
I looked up songs with harps in them and found quite a list. You reacted to "Crazy for You" by Madonna, which has a harp part. As for Stevie Wonder, he wrote some music very early in his career which he couldn't find words for so he offered it to Smokey Robinson to see what he could do. Robinson put words to it and recorded it. He brought it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. The song was called "Tears of a Clown."
My 2 favorite songs by Stevie Wonder is "Blowing in the Wind" & "Yester me, Yester you, Yesterday"
IMHO Stevie Wonder is America's Beatles. He conquer the world with his music. His influence is immeasurable. He encompasses any style plus creating new ones. He is a prolific writer for himself and others. 😎
“Lately” is my absolute favourite of his. Utterly beautiful, everything about it.
He hit the 1963 Billboard Top 100 at 13 years old, Finger Tips
Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine of my Life”
You guys need to go back to 1963 when he was known as "Little" Stevie Wonder, as he was 13 and sang "Fingertips, Part 1" on The Ed Sullivan Show. Phenomenal. No other word for it.
Stay with Stevie and give 'As' and 'Another Star' a play, you won't regret either!
Great reaction as always. Your next Stevie Wonder has to be Master Blaster. It's something with a slight different twist than you've heard from him.
Stevie my favorite artist of all time. I lived with his music in the 70s and 80s. None better.
