Good save. Those are indestructible mechanically, my uncle used to swear by them. He was a road contractor in Israel and after an unhappy episode with a locally assembled Jeep Wagoneer he discovered the Scouts and the bigger IHs, he never bought anything else till he retired (I think at one point he had 6 of them).
Oh yeah, Love them old travel-all trucks. I have a 61 IH 800 TA. It’s in the woods. Maybe someday I will pull it out. Keep on this journey and you will learn more each time. I also hate bodywork and my dad painted cars for 45 years.
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ you don't find any international anything on the East Coast where I live that is in complete garbage. Good on you for bringing that truck back around and giving it a new life ✌️🇺🇲
Buff, I been subscribed from the start, you ,pole barn, junkyard digs, Cold War motors and on an on,I can tell you a some of the others that probably know. Use Lacquer primer, it only uses reducer and nothing else a can go over anything a dries very well, just trying to help ya out….!!!!!
I cringed watching you struggle with that primer! We've all been there, with some product, or our own mistakes!😂😂😂 Nothing wrong with short strand fiberglass... it does the job!
That Majic stuff is horrible. It takes forever to dry, separates and is hard to spray. The main issue I have had and have seen other people have with it is it takes forever to dry. Oh, I live in Arizona and tried using it to paint one thing in the middle of summer, it still took days to dry. I got fed up and stripped it all of and repainted.
41:22 Perhaps the primer white shit but one thing doing bodywork that I’ve noticed over the years a.k.a. 47 years of my life it takes time you need to wait and let the stuff flash off with that being said you could’ve went to thick with the primer or it could just be cropped primer but nonetheless it probably would’ve been a better idea to strip the crap primer lay down some good primer let it flash in fact let it dry soYou don’t get wrinkles and other notorious things that can happen if the paint or primer that you lay down isn’t dry enough on the substrate
@@NTromb very aware now of all the issues that happened. Likely bad primer (wouldn’t dry), too thick and not enough dry times between coats.. it was doomed from the moment I opened the primer can.
