      Josh Bressi Trust me when I say some of the frustration is upon themselves. Like "why didn't I swing at that?!" I've felt this way many times playing traveling league. Umpires have nothing to do with most of these.

    Agreed. Even at the handle, which is most likely the weakest point, those things are hard to break.
    Yet the video is not only showing that it is fairly common, but is done easily by the frustrated players.

      I'm still playing, and this is my 20th year playing. The only time I snapped a bat, I was 145 lbs. I'm 5' 11". To be fair, I had a little bit of help from the ground first, but it didn't even break it halfway. My legs have always been strong, but my arms? Not even close. I guarantee that if you have stick legs, you're not breaking a bat, no matter how much you strengthen your arms

    I love that this happens so often to the point where no one on the field is shocked about it. No one bats an eye everytime the person breaks it. Especially the catcher

      My guesses are that either he wanted to get his team going and a single wouldn't cut it since he's a slow baserunner, or that he was trying to get out of a slump and he still didn't feel comfortable with his hit. It's never a good feeling when you can't get your timing right
