The game has grossed millions, $34m+ to be exact, in just two years. Who are you to say it should have never been made when there are plenty of players, myself included, who enjoy it?
@@virusanity4168 If you see the end of the video, I specifically say "Hey if you want to play this, by all means, go for it". I said what I said, and sure it grossed millions, and so did Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and look at how badly performed that game is made.
its not really p2w, the only thing you pay for are for skins and pokemon, and with the returning trainer bonus you get 6k coins and if you grind enough you get enough for a new license, you can also get aeos holowear tickets easily by winning rounds,whoever says its pay to win just sucks tbh, not saying you cant have your opinion but im saying@@Brianycus

good video, they really failed at the competitive side of the game instead focusing on battle and held item they made emblems is not even do anything yeah it change ur stats but it's more like a gimmick they also failed at character mechanics almost all attacker is same and almost all defender is not even felt defender
I feel like the best way to balance the game out was to make it more wacky and unique to Pokemon. Like you said, all attackers are pretty much the same and sure their move sets are different in animation, it's not as cool as it could've been. The held item for sure was a missed opportunity to add more flavor into the mix and Emblems would've been something for like collectibles rather than a gimmick you can use to make the game easier.

It used to be fun now it's just torment and suffering the most brainless Pokémon wins it all went down hill when Urshifu and Mewtwo were released if you had one of those on your team you basically won
I hope things changed a year after I posted this video because it seems to me according to the comments that I am in the wrong, but I might have to make another video to see if I was.
Tbh I was one of those who didn't show any interest in it.
But idk, something told to try it out, and it's actually pretty entertaining, I still play it today, and I have it on both mobile and switch, but idk it's just me ^^;
It's a fine game but it's like why though? Feel like they could've done a little better imo

Like I get this game is free to play, but if you look at the care Frotnite has gotten over the years, then you see that that game feels more high quality and worth a price to play. This doesn't really have that yet and and is littered with the whole mobile game cheap aesthetic to it.

I wanted a Pokemon but league where I could choose to stay a starter or evolve for different moves but we ended up with depression and a slog of a progression system.

P2w is not the problem of this game.
Problem is the balance. Defenders out DPS all attackers, several Allrounders who also out DPS all attackers were launched as gods and still poison the game. Its borderline unplayable, I dont understand how people enjoy this

Mewtwo, Zacian, Urshifu, Buzzswole. The fact that you can pay for power, in more ways than one, is the reason for people saying this.
Cash, or an absurd amount of time, will overpower even the same pokemon in the same lane.

As of the time of my original reply I had not played Pokémon Unite for 2 years. I was radio silence on this game during that time. The newest mon last I played was Zeraora. I re-downloaded and played the game 2 months ago from the original reply. Made it up to Ultra 2 ranked after 2-3 weeks. After which, I just stopped. I was completely done with the game. Why? It's a pay to win game disguised as a Moba-pokemon game. And it's everywhere.
Do you realize the sheer time investment it takes to get Mewtwo? Let alone every other one. 7 weeks... for one mon. Same time for Zacian. And that's if you have slightly extra Coins. And that's just mons, let's take a look at held items. How much time do you think it would cost you to rank up 3 held items to 30? Two months minimum. This is if you make it to Masters at the end of the 2 month season. You may say held items hold little value in the mid-late game. I agree. The problem is that there is an immediate discrepancy in power (which you can pay for) over skill before the game even starts.
Also, and this has been a pet peeve of mine for a while. Why does ANYONE mention skill issue so blatantly when (at least in ranked) the game ACTIVELY TRIES TO MATCH YOU WITH OTHER PEOPLE OF THE SAME SKILL!?! Your argument of "get good so you can overcome the power differences" goes directly in counter of the purpose of ranked play.

I played at lunch and got bored before my favorite mon, Dragonite, dropped. I remember it was one of first additions, but I was just done with it.

GAME FREAK have a million yen so if they know theyr'e popular why would they try it would probably frustrate people going back and forth back and forth They made LEGENDS ARCEUS in 2022 and Pokemon Violet they need a break mentioning Pokemon UNITE The Full Success Game and Pokemon Sleep the More Polished One theyr'e tired they can't rest if they don't realease once a year even if it's a little faulty its still a good technology
Been playing since season 1 , every season they keep making the game worse and worse by somehow some magical way when theres been plenty of feedback. This season ive decided to pump the brakes for a bit on playing the game, the community lol dont listen to them
The community I genuinely don't understand how they're promoting a game that despite fixing the pay to win, it still isn't a game not worth playing a session for. The balance is still trash, the roster is okay but even then, it's not as fun as a regular mainline title or a Mystery Dungeon game.
@@Brianycus Desperation, hoping the game will take off but in reality it hasn't left the ground. Been around gaming since the Atari days, been through so many genres, games, metas, micro transactions, loot boxes, ya name it I've been seasoned. The big issue right now in Unite is how meta patches are being handled and how the team blantly ignores very genuine concerns. Still no proper comp and ranking system worlds should not be a thing but they are doing it for money/image. Mons like Zacian and Mewtwo are pay to win mons yeah you can nerf them but their kits are so busted it's insane it made it past inside testing, I've put my 2 cents in with the PTS servers saying those mons should be properly tested before release.. yeah they don't listen to us PTS players. Content creators basically trying promote this game is doing great, yeah it's in the worse state it's ever been I take pre release unite any day at this point. The list goes on but right now the best step for them is redo how they do meta patches along with adding a proper pick/ban phase and when I mean a proper pick/ban not this 1 on each side, it should be 3 on each side if not at least 2, this would push pro teams to the limit and make it more challenging, what we have now is a complete joke. It's honestly easy fixes to get the game back on track just the producer and devs are making bad decisions but as long they are getting our money they give zero craps about us.
You can easily play this game without spending money.
It's not p2w cause if your game mechanics sucks you lose or get carried by other players even if you have all the instruments and emblems maxed out.
The real problem with this game is that the majority of people don't wanna put efforts in learn how to play.
The simple fact that you say that "the attackers going front line" proves that even you need to lern better how to play.
If you're going frontline with an attacker that has low hp you get constantly killed giving away exp to your enemies for free and make the match even harder.
Defenders are the ones who goes frontline tanking damage so the attackers can do damage to the enemies from a safe position
Dude trust me this game doesn't have a complex game design. You can play three ranked matches with zero input on strategt and still win. I proved that in my footage as 50% of footage for that video are ranked matches.
And it's still P2W even if they improved on that.
I understand you're right to a capacity, but this game isn't good regardless
@@Brianycus a lot of ranked matches you play at the beginning are against bot and are super easy to win
They give you a bot match even after a lost streak so you can regain some points and some self-esteem

The only reason I care about Unite is the awesome skins for the pokemon and all the creative and wonderful fanart of them (Garchomp fanart in any holowear always makes my inner child happy). I want these to be used in other spin offs without microtransactions, but they're at least fun to look at and how they're used creatively in fanart.
Otherwise yeah, Unite sucks.
Those Holowear were the only good thing about Unite for SURE.

I hate to come to the defense of unite but as a day one player who hasn't spent a cent on this game, you're arguments don't make a ton of sense yes, this game is sometimes p2w but saying the graphics are bad and the competitive scene is disliked is far from the truth, the competitive scene is the most respected parts of this game (spend 5 minutes on r/Pokemon Unite and you would know what I mean) Trust me this game is far from perfect but saying it should have never existed is a step to far.
It shouldn't have existedeys be real. The effort was great, but when you see other spin offs like Pokken and Mystery Dungeon, those games have the better quality of life for a spin off. Unite is great fun, but it's not the best of the spin offs

Honestly the most dogshit, pay-to-win (not to mention unbalanced) MOBA I have ever played in my entire life. They recently released Mewtwo, who is literally so fucking busted it makes old Kassadin look like Teemo lmao.
I mean there is a competitive scene, where they compete for like 50k cash prices. Also is having lots of updates bad lol??? Also trust me you will start losing in masters rank 😅 its not p2w, emblems can be finnicky but they only alter the gameplay a little bit so long as if you have white brown or green and black emblems
Yeah I said all that stuff too. I still consider this game to be one of the worst spinoffs out there regardless of if there's a competitive scene or not. And if it is, well honestly I prefer the mainline games. Also never said that updates are bad. Even then, this game still ain't it haha

To whiners, it's just an excuse because you're bad at mobas. My 1st month of playing PU I was able to reach master 1600+ with only bronze and silver emblems and level 20 held items, no money spent ofcourse. Yes there are p2w factors but it only affects early game where stats are at the lowest so every points of stats you get from emblems and items each level the better. But mid to late game those tiny stats won't matter as you gain levels and reach your power spike, winning still rely on your decision making, what is gold emblem and max held item when you keep making wrong decisions and dying as a result.
Be greatful in pokemon unite gaining level is your only concern, unlike other mobas not only level but also gold is your concern to purchase stronger items.
Im veteran to mobas I played league and specially dota 2, fighting against enemy with one tier 1 item ahead of me isn't new to me. I am able to adjust how to fight against opponents who have item advatage.
Having bronze emblems and level 20 held items is too small compared to Dota 2 when your opponent have 2-3 items ahead of you so quit whinning about PU's p2w when you haven't tasted what's real and hardcore mobas trully are.
Well the game may be easy now but it still sucks. So yeah. Respect the long comment though. You earned a heart from me 🤝
The game is easy asf to get to masters because the players are so bad especially if you're abusing broken pokemon which makes it even easier lol but technically it is p2w if broken pokemon like mewtwo and pre nerfed zacian are locked behind a event and others can just buy the pokemon early for easy rank ups lol

Pokemon unite has become pretty much pay to win for new players because of the emblem system and it's sad because many pokemon fans who are younger and more impressionable could end up falling for these cash grabs
It's the sad truth and honestly Gen 8 deserved so much better in the spin off department. What a shame.

@@hisprincessprincess4916 That is legit one of my BIGGEST complaints with the current Gen. Lack of proper spin offs like a new Mystery Dungeon or Pokemon Ranger, or just a whole new spinoff that actually is fun to play.

Pokémon Unite is a FREE game, to make money and keep the game up they OFFER things like the battle pass and holo wear. But there things that don’t impact your ingame experience, a content creator called Mr The Boss made a video much like yours and it was utterly debunked by a unite Creator called Spragle. There is a meta and people will obv follow it but it just takes 30mins of your day to watch a couple of videos teaching you some basics cause everyone plays to win so who ever actually wants to win will play hard to win. Otherwise you can just join random Standard match if you have no interest in the ranked metas. It’s obvious that you got the idea from this video from someone else and barly committed any effort or time into this game cause the game itself is VERY generous to free to play players as they have mechanics to still get some skins not paying a dime , and free max item enhancers, etc,etc. you made this video for views. Dislike
Assuming you think I did it because someone else did is wrong. I had plans to make this video regardless of who made it before or after.
I clearly didn't make this for views as this is all my personal experience with the game for the last two years. Regardless of the battle pass or the meta, what ultimately is facts is that this game is a game that could've done a way better job from the start and even now. Yes it's a free game but so is Fortnite and Fortnite has expanded IMMENSELY for it to be a free game. And the season passes have incentives to buy too. Unite doesn't.
Debunked or not, this game is not as high quality for a Modern Pokemon spinoff.

I can’t comment on why he made the video or where the idea came from but while watching this video I thought to myself “does he even play the game?” Disliking the game is one thing but having someone have blatantly different experiences from me in a game I’ve played for about 6 months on and off seems different. Not once did I feel the game was pay to win as the game was very generous and explained everything in detailed ways.

At this point, everyone that says Pokemon Unite is pay to win clearly did not play more than a few minutes. My guy, I played Unite for around 2 months in the Zacian season and had 2/3 Pokemon, missed only 4 items and had almost all my items at level 20 (you do not have to max them to 30). I spent no money on that game.

@@TheReZisTLust I don't know the state of this game now, I dropped the game a while back. I am enjoying The Teal Mask and Baldur's Gate 3 right now, no need or time for Unite. Maybe I will get back to it later on, I will see.
The P2W isn't the items or upgrades; it's the cracked legendary launches that let you basically auto-win games. The OP state of these mons is only for a limited time before they're nerfed down, and while you can take the long way around and earn them for free, they might be patched down to a more "fair" state by then. You're encouraged to buy them while they're still hot. The incremental mini-nerfs every 2-3 weeks are just to incentivize buying it sooner rather than earning it later.

@sped8740 either you haven't played long enough to recognize how bad the game has gotten, especially for newer players, or you haven't played long enough to get hit with the power creep of the game. From emblems, to the bad balance of the game, the game is very much pay to win, especially for newer players. Most defenders are GARBAGE, and I mostly play the defender/support role because I like the pokemon. If I seriously cared about winning, I wouldn't even consider playing those roles because you're asking to lose playing them unless you play umbreon , slowbro, lapras or hoopa. Aside from those, you are purposely throwing or have to have very good game sense and most players play like absolute garbage for an easy moba
