So it's been awhile since the Arcade1Up Killer Instinct PRO Series cabinet dropped and was met with mixed reviews. Some people loved it while others has reservations. Now that i've gotten my hands on one, I think that this model might need to be revisted. This is Should Arcade1Up Bring Back The PRO Series Cabinets???

My KI pro is one of the best purchases I ever made! Simple joystick swap made this thing damn near perfect.

They cannibalized their sales on the KI Pro twice. First by announcing it at the same time as the 3/4 scale KI, and then putting the 3/4 scale on deep discount at the same time the Pro dropped. If they'd released the Pro first and then released the 3/4 at a later date to catch the people who didn't want to pay $1000, they probably would've done better.
That being said if they want to release another cab at $1000 they need to really stick the landing. At that price, customers shouldn't have to replace anything unless they really want to. I was glad I didn't have the funds at the time they released it (just paid my property tax that day. lol), after I heard the sticks were worse than the 3/4 cab. That's absurd.
And that's why I'm torn to be honest. I think they could release something really cool if they pulled out all the stops, but I don't think they know what a $1000 cabinet should look like.
I like the idea of making it a new title. Heck some games with unique control schemes might justify $1000. Something like Afterburner might be a $1000 cab. Throw a few other Sega games with similar control schemes (or ones that can be adapted to that scheme), and you've got a winner.
Not necessarily for me, but I know a few people have been asking for Paper Boy with the bicycle handles.

at $800 it would be a conversation but it'd be hard i think for most ppl to justify spending the extra on the pro compared to an xl version for 200 less .
I love my KI Pro just wish it had more games on it , and I agree all the other stuff I could have done with out , fatigue mats are cheap on amazon LOL, Mortal Kombat Pro would be kind of cool.
Honestly, from the track record that A1up has had. I'd rather do a deluxe or XL and leave the rest of the extras to me. I'm now set in my ways of "If you want something done right or your way, you gotta do it yourself. " Because they will mark it up.
That's not a bad idea. I still don't own an XL so I don't know the difference but since the buttons and sticks get changed out anyways, might as well go for the size
It just needed the right game, I understand why they went with KI at first. Microsoft is more generous with their licensing, It had Battlestoads the Arcade, which has never been release for any home platform (aside from Rare Replay). I still don't understand why the Battlemaniac, SNES port of Battletoads wasnts on it, especially after Atgames is getting but, but it was still a good first attempt. MVC, as a pro release would be a completely different story

The marquee is way better than the other cabinets. They seem to not do black colors well but I agree. If it's a pro you shouldn't need to change anything
Hi moat so I will tell where I am at with my arcade 1 up products so I sold a few and left with two of them the original nba jam marvel vs cap com so I am willing to get to supporting the company if they make pro series with a better cpu speakers marquee but let’s be honest what the most important buttons joysticks give the fans the best gameing experience on fighting cabinets so il joysticks a must sanwa buttons a must 5 years I have waiting patiently what hurts them is those buttons joysticks more than the other stuff me personally if they do that I will buy street fighter nba jam marvel vs capcom killer instinct day 1 only if those improvements are made I know here in Canada will probably cost us $1,500 but willing to pay if perfect thanks moat have a great weekend
If Arcade1Up wants to re-use the “Pro Series” branding, they need to lose the idea that a pressboard cabinet and single board computer can be worth 99,999 pennies. 🤡
Instead, make the Pro Series around the same price point as the XL and have the defining difference is the Pro Series has functional coin doors and should look like the original cab as much as possible, where the XL series can be the cabs that rely on a different design or are Legacy collections, or only have one set of controls (using Live functionality for add’l players).
Does the XL have a definitive price point though? I think the most I remember is $700 which I agree if they're gonna do it that it should hover in that area.
@@MikeOfAllTrades I don’t think product lines should be defined by price points, but rather have price ranges. IMO, the product line name should tell you what features and form factors are included and generally fall within a particular price range, but Pac-Man XL is proving that a $599 price is possible for a cab that has basically all of the features of a Pro Series minus a stool, floor mat….and functioning coin door. The latter of which being the only feature that appears to be exclusive to the Pro Series.
That said, I think a lot of people would be on board if the “standard” price of a new Deluxe model is $499-599 (depending on IP), and anything over 599 would be either Pro or XL.
This should also mean that when a brand new IP is introduced, it should be released at the “best” form factor they ever plan to release XL or Pro so the dedicated fans who preorder get the peace of mind knowing they aren’t going to get screwed when the “top of the line” gets released at the same time as a clearance sale making it impossible to make back the money you spent to get nothing but the “privilege” of playtesting an unfinished product.

This version had HAPP buttons and sticks, the marquee was a better material and has the coin door...maybe i should just do the review lol
@@MikeOfAllTrades yea I was one of few people that bought one. 😂 It’s a nice looking cab. Not worth da $1000 plus tax. I would have liked them to make more pros but again, it has to be better than this one. A would like da screen to be bigger to justify the $1000 tag.🏷️
