I was re reading Warhawk, theres a point where Rogal Dorn wishes Russ would just show up laughing and being the overall super bro, Russ charisma is underrated
You can definitely make the case that Horus completely lost - or shook off with Malochurst's sacrifice - that last remaining noble part of himself in Slaves to Darkness and that the spear to the side was likely the cause of it. He was fighting the gods for much of the book and probably would've died as he wouldn't submit, it was only after Maloghurst stuck the blade in him that he woke up and finally got off the throne.
Well he must have kept some small amount because of how he feels after he thinks he truly finished off Emperor. No happiness or sense of achievment like he expected but shame. I mostly agree with you.
@@erihor86 Yeah, I forgot about that bit, I even finished the final audiobook again recently so should've remembered what he was like after thinking he's fully killed the E.
@@Gr1mm4 yeah, that sounds like the part I was thinking of. Do note that I haven't read or listened to the whole book yet, just some parts of it. I don't care about spoilers, so I spoiled myself a while ago, otherwise I'd be out of the loop at least until summer. 😆
Hello there, just a few comments on the topic. I have often wondered, even if not wounded by Russ, could Horus have or wanted to resist Chaos? After Davin, Horus set down a path that could only end in one way, as a puppet of Chaos! Those in the Chaos pantheon favouring Sanguinius as their puppet both angered and challenged Horus' command.
So is this version of Horus still out there? Is this what bile was usong to clone him? Maybe horus could come back. Did emps kill all of his soul? Soo many questions.
Is it cannon or? About Alpharius being on Terra the whole time and raised by the Emperor and Malachdor,or is that speculation or Alpha legion propaganda? Im a novice but i have herd the story or info about Alpharius starting the blood games to mock assinate the Emperor and was stopped by valdor Constantine is that fan fiction or lore?🎉
Everything Alpha legion is a big maybe. I believe it stated in Alpharius primarch book that he was on earth the whole time and the first. But that’s like the fifth original story for him. And it’s from his view point, so who knows 🤷♂️
@nicholasrice3913 is there any confirmation, other than from the Alpha legion lore about when Alpharius fought Constantine Valor when Alpharius mock attempts to assinate the Emperor to show the Custodian guard there weakness or any other lore of his interactions with Malcador? Or only from Alpha legion books? Any corroborating literature?
@nicholasrice3913 Where can I find the other accounts you mentioned of multiple origin stories. Thanks for any info. I'm not well versed but,I'm a fan of Perterabo and Alpharius so any recommendations for lore pertaining to either I would be grateful for. Like any obscure or deep lore on either. 👍
@@derekbidelman2442 I believe the other. Stories are scattered through the lore. Short stories and other novels. I’ve done some deep dives on RUclips. But I can’t remember which particular books.
Horus is the kind of person who has a visa with a large credit balance. He felt he could afford everything until he saw the balance. Spoiler Loken showed him the statement and caused him to accept that he messed up and defaulted.
I trust Chaos exactly as much as I trust the Emperor. That is to say not at all. Horus was killing himself with this impossible resistance. Chaos is right about that. The Horus of old didn't die, we saw him at the Very end of TEATD. In short, i disagree with your thesis.

Yeep that's Russ. More observant, wise and calculating that most of his brothers would ever give him credit for.
...like... a WOLF 🐺
Russ and the wolves have really been done so dirty in the hh
Wolves Bane is the only Horus Heresy book I've read so far and it was awesome but also way more emotional than I expected.
Horus rising needs to be next

He also does end up dying specifically because he rejects the gods, when he's certain of his victory. 🤔

15:23 the spear does show truth.
It would be cool to see Horace come back understanding his terrible actions and fighting on the side of good
Good is a stretch. The lesser of two evils for the survival of the human race might be a little more accurate.

If only he didn't drop him on his head too much
19:13 i don't think doing that would kill a part of his soul.

He did ultimately resist Chaos, and he did actually throw them off. It's kind of astonishing you didn't bring this up.
