  • BMW R1250-GS/A and S1000-RR / S1000-XR & S1000-R Weiser Wizard Plug & Play modules from Weiser-Technik.
This is the installation guide for the Weiser-Technik Wizard modules. The Motorbike used for this guide is the 2021-2023 BMW R1250-GS. The R1250-GSA (2021-2024) is the same on the rear, but the front installation is very slightly different as the panels are a different size and mounted differently.
This episode will guide you step by step, showing you the tools required and exactly what you need to do, to install these new Wizard modules. I will be installing ALL 5 modules / dongles in this video.
If you own a 2021, 2022 & 2023 BMW R1250GS/A (& 2024 GSA) with Multifunction indicators, you can now buy a simple and easy to install modules that greatly improves the function of the standard original BMW front and rear indicators.
Go here to visit the Weiser Technik product page:
    Pricing: UK
Full Weiser Wizard Combo kit (all 5 modules) £330 (Inc VAT)
Weiser Wizard Rear kit (3 modules) £279 (Inc VAT)

Weiser Wizard Rear "S" series BMW (2 modules) 187,50€ (Plus Tax)
The Weiser Wizard modules do not cause any error codes or fault codes once installed because they have been designed to integrate seamlessly with the BMW system. They are easy to install and integrate perfectly with the BMW CAN bus system.

What a first class video. I fitted the the modules today to sort out the appalling mess that BMW has made of the turn signals on my new R1250GS, returning them to way they worked on my previous one. Friends have already cheered as they are fed up with not being able to tell which way I was turning, especially when also braking.
Carl's very clear instructions made it just so straight forward and I love the hack about pushing the bolts through holes in cardboard to ensure they go back in the correct place - so much better than my previous method of placing things carefully in order on the floor!
Great product and great instructions from Carl.

Thanks Carl, as always very comprehensive.
Having watched this I took off the rack and cover only to realise I could have fitted the multifunction modules by just removing the seat. I didnt need the module for the centre brake day time run light as I had already coded it to be on. I was able to code the multifunction with a GS911 to be indicators only, or marker lights and indicators without the brake light function however you can't code them to do what the Weiser module do. You can also switch off the front orange marker lights.
Gave me a good excuse to give everything a thorough clean as it's amazing how much crud gets in there.
You have done a lot of good marketing for Weiser.

Not sure how I missed this video. Another great how to Carl. I've finally fitted the "premium" solution with the run on module on my bike over the weekend after I had them sitting around for 6 months or more. Watched your video while doing the install and it was a breeze to complete. Absolutely love the brighter turn signals and the white DRLs add quite a bit of light at night as well off to the sides. My bike is a Japanese '21 GSA and I'll have to do some testing when I install the Denali SoundBomb, but the rear indicators don't change brightness when braking. They seem to be full bright all the time. I wired everything according to the instructions and your video so I'm sure that's all correct. I should have checked before I pulled the OEM off but I'm pretty sure they acted only as marker lights as well. Easy enough to verify by hooking the OEM signals up when I've got the bike apart to check. Which would help explain why nobody had any issues telling if I was braking or if my turn signals were on. I'll see what the Japanese inspectors think this April when I have to get my bike inspected for JCI, hopefully their cool with the change. Your videos are a great asset for us DIYers. Clear, concise, and you show every step as best you can. Thank you. There is another RUclipsr, A Bike Thing, he has a shop in the UK and he and a friend of his developed a very nice headlight guard that looks OEM called the AMMO Guard. It's hard to tell there's anything different from stock. Might want to look into it, I know the Polizei in Germany can be sticklers about things after living there for 3 and half years.

      Hi Correy, good morning
Congratulations on your installation but I would double check your connection just to make sure and ensure the fuse is back in the holder.
I don’t know if the Japanese bike is a Global bike or a North American bike, but the wiring is different in terms of installation between both types to get everything working correctly.
You can view both wiring diagrams on the Weiser-Tech web site

Hi Carl, installed front and rear on the GS, very easy, complete within an hour. Your guide was very helpful. The XR took a bit longer as you need to remove the rear rack, side panels, rack arms, a metal housing, the two lower black plastic panels, the small rear plastic panel and finally the small panel holding the accessory USB port. Inside this there is a small square box where the indicator leads are housed. It’s fairly tight in there once the Weiser technik modules are added, but other than removing then re-fitting a total of 29 screws, it’s all pretty straightforward. The modules make a big difference on both bikes! Thanks again.

Hi Carl, I came across your channel when researching information on the BMW R1250GS and I've found your videos very helpful, particularly those concerning the 'buggers muddle' BMW have made of their multi dis-functional indicators. I have now fitted a full set of the Weiser Wizard 'plug & play' modules and I couldn't be more happy with the result. On a different subject I see you are considering changing the screen on your 1250GS. If it helps I can recommend fitting the larger GSA screen, which makes for a better touring option. It's a simple 10 minute job to swap them over. Thank you and keep up the good work 👍

Hi Carl. I had your channel recommended to me by a senior police motorcycle trainer. I realised quite quickly he was refrring to the poor lighting on the bike. As such I purchsed all 5 modules. Wow, what a difference. I do have one problem thouh with the front lights, one is clearly brighter than the other! I have checked connections and all is as it should be. Have you experienced this before or can offer any help?

    • @justthewayitis
      @justthewayitis  9 месяцев назад +1

Hi Jacko, and welcome to the channel. 👍
Ok, if one front indicator is brighter than the other it’s a voltage / current issue.
Both front indicators need the extra BLACK 12V feed wire connected to work correctly and be super bright, because the indicators need an extra 300mA to run super bright.
If, like I show in the video you should have a BLACK 12V wire running from the wiring harness at the bike of the bike to the front of the bike.
At the front it then splits two ways, one to the left and one to the right.
So first check that connection where all 3 wires join together.
You can also check you have 12V inside each indicator housing on the black wire ( make sure they are connected correctly by gently making sure they are pushed firmly onto the pins )
Don’t worry it will be something simple.
      Check above and report back
      Carl

Hi John, I have a video about the new Weiser Wizard Modules (V5) which is finished and ready to go live, but I’m waiting for Weiser to add the product to their website, hopefully they will have it ready within a week or two and then I can release the video.
The video uses a R1300GS but they are compatible with an XR.
If you can’t wait just send Weiser Technik an email (Mark) is the boss and give him your XR year model details as they have them in stock .
If your model does not have a tail lamp unit you can also add the third party tail light / brake light to the rear of your XR, Mark will clarify what’s available.
      Kind regards Carl

It would be great if Weiser would get a EU based dealer.....

Hi, well it does make a big improvement over the original system as it comes from factory. We each have to decide if the safety improvements the weiser Technik wizard modules bring are worth the cost. For me it’s an easy decision 👍
      Kind regards Carl
