Cutch is about the only one I trust that can come out of a slump on his own.

One reason, his learning at the plate did not come from in Haines We Trust!

Cutch is starting to pick it up, with plenty of time left in the season. At his current pace, his numbers should exceed 2023.

Good Morning DK. Cutch is still Clutch! Love that guy. Love to see Reynolds really get hot also . He has been decent but underperforming in my opinion at this point in season.

My personal response to today's J1Q:
    From Rum Bunter yesterday:
"General Manager Ben Cherington, Assistant General Manager Steve Sanders, and Manager Derek Shelton all spent time with Rowdy Tellez in some capacity during their time in Toronto. All four were with the organization in 2017. Tellez played in 20 games during Spring Training in 2017. He had a batting average of .218 with an OPS of .816. He also showed a good eye at the plate only striking out 11 times. A prospect like Tellez, who was a step away from the Blue Jays' roster, most likely was well-known among Cherington, Sanders, and Shelton. That is why he is here still. They like Tellez; they liked what he did with the Blue Jays, making him one of their top prospects. They needed to acquire a first baseman and had a chance to bring him in this offseason and did so. Maybe the decision-makers of the Pirates are just being too loyal to a player they have known for many years."
Ben Cherington said on Friday that there's a sense of "urgency" in the Pirates organization to produce a team that can contend this season. However, it's ridiculously clear to everyone that loyalty to Tellez is NOT a path to contention-- it's actually quite the opposite. Cherington's proclaimed "sense of urgency" comments ring hollow, and they were patently false the very moment the words tumbled from his mouth.
The 4 teams in the NL Central that are not currently in 1st place are playing better right now (except the Cubs). As a result, a true sense of urgency would be acted upon immediately by a serious organization willing to make crucial and timely changes when necessary. It's already about a third of the way through the season, and the Pirates have to find ways to begin separating themselves now (in a positive way) from the rest of the NL Central teams that are close to them in the division standings.
    Mr. Cherington:
"Urgency" is spelled U-R-G-E-N-C-Y (not L-O-Y-A-L-T-Y, and to a player who's been utterly atrocious and who hasn't improved in the slightest).
As DK stated himself emphatically in this episode: it is now YEAR 5.

When is Cherington going to end the Telkez experiment, and call up Jake Lamb. ANYTHING Lamb gives, platooningveith Connor Joe, beats Rowdies numbers.
And we need to get Liover Peguero up.

Yes. It is because of his stats, professionalism, and the embracing of his teammates and the fans.

I didn't doubt Andrew McCutchen. Someone I know had quite the bromance with Jack Suwinski, however. It's because he's had a track record. After him, I'd say Bryan Reynolds. The entire rest of the team doesn't have a long enough of a track record. Hayes, maybe, but his track record is he has a bad back. It doesn't get better, ever. I know about that personally!

He's 37 but who's counting, right? He will be 38 in October.
