is that where the father and son died this year? I was in Glencoe (did Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamach) when they were still declared as missing, I didn't follow the story so I don't know where they actually died.
@ytfeelslikenorthkorea it was in Glencoe but not on this ridge. Think it was on Stob Coire Nan Lochan which is close to Bidean nam Bian. Thanks for watching!
@@ytfeelslikenorthkorea no mate the Rescue I'm talking of goes back as far as the early to mid 80s, I can't remember exactly the date because I'm now 68 and it was a long time ago and although I'm celebrating 50 years in Mountaineering this year in 2024, unfortunately my memory hasn't kept up to date, Sorry.
Well done Andy and lads on doing it in that weather. 👌😎Me & Robin bailed after the 1st Munro and did the Corbett other side. Few hill runners told us rock was greasy & wet. And we were hungover fae the clachaig the night before. 😉 Looking forward to doing it in decent weather.
Thanks Kev. We were lucky rock wasn’t too slippy! Glad I got this done as was a bit nervous about it. Fantastic route and would deffo do again on a better day. Clachaig is so handy nearby and goes hand in hand with hangovers! 😜 thanks for watching! 👍
Well done Andrew.Weather conditions didn't look the best for you guys so fair play to you.😃👏 Put this off 3 times waiting for the perfect day.Loved the pinnacles.
Cheers Andy. Yeah weather not the best but still got some views and the sun did shine at times. This was great fun and loved all the scrambling. Next day I felt like I had a full body workout! Was sore all over ! Thanks for watching 👍
Well done mate! A wee bit of everything weather wise on this walk! Much more challenging in the wet I guess? It was great to sit and enjoy having visited this walk already Andrew! Well done on ticking this one off and bagging another few Munros! Some great views and nice action shots especially at the crazy pinnacles! I liked your wee comment near the end…nothing too exposed! Aye right! 🥴🥴 brilliant mate and well done all!! Paul
Cheers Paul. This was a great hike and would do again in better weather. The exposure on the film looked worse than it is so probably wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting. All in all bloody great day! 🏴⛰👌
Thanks for watching. The poles were a hinderance at times going up but boy did I need them coming down. Very up and down this ridge! Arguments for and against! This is a great hike!
Views are incredible, never sure how you chaps do this in what looks like slippery conditions, I always think the rocks look like there must be some loose ones! bloody well done!👍
Cheers mate. The rock was a bit slippery but not so much so it was a major problem. A great hike and fantastic day out, thanks for watching Jeffery! Cheer. 👍
Nice day out. Did this route many years ago in similar blustery conditions. I genuinely don't understand the use of poles on a route such as this though, to my mind they just make it more dangerous.
What a brilliant Video Andrew 😁😁..It really shows you the intensity of the ridge 😍👍..Love the close up down climb shots😁..Top video mate. Cheers Robert
Brilliant video Andrew 👏 I've done both Munros but not the ridge 🏔 I know you said at the end that it was some good scrambling and nothing to hairy but it certainly looked hairy watching the video well done in those conditions 😨 atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian. It always looks worse on the video. At no point I was feeling super scared or freaking out. A bit iffy at times but not to the extent I couldn’t move on. Just being super careful and making sure I had secure feet and hand holds. Thanks for watching ! 👍
It’s a cracking route. Yes a few exposed scrambly bits but wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. If your are used to some scrambling you will be fine . Enjoy!
It's a fantastic ridge. Last time I had to rush off and went down clachaig gully to cut the pap corner. That was a bit grim! Just wondered about your walking sticks, would have thought it would be easier without then on the scramble? 2 hands 2 feet and all that?
Thanks for watching. Fair comment re poles and you could argue both ways. I did find them more of a help going down than a hinderance scrambling up. More injuries are caused going down as more care is needed. The poles effectively provided an extra balance point when scrambling down and were of great benefit. We avoided the gully as it looked quite terrifying from the A82. Fair play to you coming down that way. Short cut to the clachaig inn! 🍻 👍
This is very exposed! Great hike though! I watched your ring of Steall video as well. Another top video. I did this route 3 years ago but running it is way beyond my fitness level. ⛰🏴👌
Thank you . I don’t know as not done either! But I think the Anoach Eagach has the reputation as the most difficult ridge walk in the uk. Cheers for the sub! 👍
I was also wondering this, can’t really get a good view on Google earth, it looks just a walk 😂. My guessed opinion is it’s just the pinnacles part that’s worse than crib and I reckon way more exposed but then that part looks shorter than crib and the rest a exposed walk. first time I watched this vid it looked extremely daunting but beautiful scenery, second time it doesn’t look bad at all and still beautiful. Thanks for uploading
Hi thanks for watching. We had 2 cars otherwise you need to walk another hour or so back along the A82 to the staring point. 2 cars recommended otherwise you have a long walk back to your car! Or do the ridge and just turn back at the 2nd munro and retrace your steps !
Good vid 👍 Wouldn't never do it in the rain though , glad to see all went well . Will need to do this ridge soon, not many munros left to do south of fort William . Have you done the Saddle? How does it compare , didn't find the Saddle hard at all .
Tanks for watching. Yeah I have done the saddle. No comparison ! The Aonach Eagach is much more exposed and tricky! I found the saddle much easier than what I was anticipating! But was still a great hike going over the Forcan Ridge! Cheers and Atb. 👍
They help immensely. Help to propel you forward going uphill and improved balance going downhill. Helps distribute the weight and reduced strain on your knees. I wouldn’t be without my poles now.

I would holster the poles, you need both hands completely free over that.
