Your adventure brought back some great memories James. Back in the noughties my girl friend and I biked and walked from the Linn of Dee for a 2 night camp near the Hutchison Memorial hut. The next day we hiked up to climb Beinn Mheadhoin and it's Munro tops. Returned to Loch Etchacan and then hiked up to Derry Cairngorm and its Tops. It was a baking hot Summer's day and after returning to Loch Etchacan, went for a swim. Memories that last a lifetime.
Its a fantastic area, with so much choice too 😁 glad it brought back some memories for you, Cheers, James
It was nice to chat with you at Loch Etchahan. Another great video and reminder of a superb day. All the best for the remainder of your Munro journey! Len
Nice to meet you, what a glorious day we got for it! Thank you Len, Cheers, James
Ha, here we go again. James the weather man. I don't know how you pick such glorious days mate. Been following all of you munro journey so far and I reckon I've only seen you a handful of times in full gortex kit!! Cracking video as usual with some epic scenery. Only one thing wrong with your videos. They are not long enough . I could watch all day long. Well done James. Cheers, Ozzy.
Haha I have been very lucky so far.. things do change a bit soon.. this summer has been rubbish! Thanks for watching, James
Wow, you must have some serious fitness! Lovely to see Loch Avon again, I forget how stunning it is.
And remember you can climb these hills again! Different routes, seasons, conditions and companions mean you'll never get bored of them
My fitness is actually not amazing, I just plod along 😂 yes looking forward to that, will be nice to have a choice of where I am going rather than picking from a list 😂🏔
Love that route. Nothing like that area for sheer mountain fabulousness. Another beautiful production. Thank you.
It is an amazing area, glad I chose to go in from that direction to see it all.. Cheers, James
Great video. I really enjoy seeing figures in the landscape so the effort you put into setting up the camera and then walking past it is much appreciated, particularly as your walk was already a long one. That tor on Mheadhoin was a bit more awkward for me than you made it look. I didn’t enjoy the step across, which you did with a camera in your hand, but the rest of the hike round the Tops of Derry Cairngorm, Macdhui and Ben Mheadhoin is really good and gets into some uncrowded parts of the Cairngorms. Worth going back for!
Thanks for watching 😁
Great video as always beautiful weather and wonderful views 😘😘😘🥰
Thank you for your hike into the Cairngorms. It was quite different from here in New Zealand but spectacular & enjoyable. Even here some trampers talk about "knocking off" a certain number of Munros. Peter
Fantastic it's all about getting into the Great Outdoors. Thank you😀
Well done, James - that looked like it took some doing. Looks like you might need to return to that beach with your tent, at some point!
100%, will do it early in the season as the flies/midgies were rife 😂
What a day fantastic weather the Cairngorms at their very best wonderful views well done
Hard to beat on a good day 😁
Think we'll all be quite happysad when you complete the round James 😂😢👏 great vid as always
Thank you, not sure how I feel about completing either 😂
Really enjoyed your video. Was up there on Sunday from Linn of Dee doing Beinn a'Chaorainn + Beinn Bhreac & it was hot. Amazing place.
Thank you, yes it is a stunning area 😁 hope you had a great day
Yeaaaah, a walk that I did some years ago albeit from the Linn of Dee. Wild camped on the east side of the Derry Cairngorm summit, went across to Ben Macdui and then away to Beinn Mheadhoin before walking back to Linn of Dee. Yes it's a long one, but a truely great place to wander. Great video James.
Thanks Graham, that sounds like a great trip 😁
Aye mate bittersweet indeed! Looked like you didn’t want to leave but you’ll be back one day 👍🏻😎
Absolutely stunning video James. I've been looking at a way to do Derry Cairngorm. I definitely think ill do it the same way as you. But will leave it for next year. Well done mate.

Its a big day but very enjoyable 😁 Cheers, James
The very top of Beinn Mheadhoin looks like an alien landscape.
Its a strange summit 😁
Great video and scenery 🙂👍
Such a good Route done the same a few years ago with a return route via the Lairig Ghru was over two days though and a lot more munros i done Ben Avon the same way over Carn Gorm down to Loch Avon over to Ben Avon and out to Bremar and bus back to aberdeen i love the freedom of the Gorms so many routes
Brilliant James. Actually had this route planned for Saturday but the weather is looking awful and after seeing what it’s like on a clear day I’d rather hold off
Thank you - definitely wait for a good day 😁🏔
Hard enough just doing Mheadhoin, well done. What a day. Peace and solitude. Bliss
Thank you, a tough day but great way to finish off the Cairngorms.. Cheers, James
Hi James, absolutely amazing what stunning views, Loch A’an looks amazing. Well done on completing the Cairngorm Munro’s
Not many to go now, all the best
Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴
Cheers Dave 😁🏔
This was a nice surprise to wake up to, cracking!👌❤️
Hope you enjoyed it 😁
What great light you had for this - good light makes the Cairngorms look fabulous. Also nice to see you taking the less common route, although you could have made it less out and back, and shorter by dropping off Mheadhoin past the east end of Loch Avon. The fore is mighty cold, but you went paddling anyway. Less than a quarter of a century to go.
Thanks Eddie, yes had to make a route up for these as there was no ‘easy’ way to do it 😂 actually enjoyed it a lot. Yes I did shortcut off the side of Mheadhoin towards the loch but could have changed my route there, what a place. Cheers, James
Brilliant video. 👌
Thank you 😁
Glorious part of the world well done James
What a fantastic video of a amazing area of the Cairngorms. I only started my Munro Journey last year with two and then 8 more this past spring. I've yet to do a Caingorm Munro or more, as the only one so far is Mayar (bailed out before Driesh as I was too knackered) Would love to return to the Lochnagar area as me and Skye had a very nice walk around Loch Muick and up to the waterfall behind the royal lodge. I've followed your Munro Journey for quite a while and what a journey - only 24 left now to bag - well done. ATB Karl
Thanks for watching Karl, nice to hear you have started your Munro journey 😁 the main Cairngorm hills are fantastic so hope you enjoy them.. Cheers, James
A fantastic effort climbing these Munros from Coire Cas. But well worth it. The views in the video are just stunning. The Cairngorms are so different to the other hills - the hills of the west - remote but accessible.
Always an enjoyable day in the Cairngorms, loved that route too.. Cheers, James
Well done must be very satisfying
That beach looked magnificent
Great wild camping area but there's always the midgies
Fantastic area, but you are right, midgie hell 😂
Another cracking film James....going to be heading up that way soon to gain my 3 figures as far as Munros are concerned, but those treks are long for sure!
Thank you - and well done on the triple figures 😁 Enjoy.
What a beautiful day - I had similar last week on Macdui/Cairn Gorm. Good luck for the last few - if it stops raining!
Hope you had a nice day, thank you - I am waiting for good weather but I might just have to brave it 😂
Well done James, another milestone for you..I still have two Cairngorm Munros to do. I may leave them as my last two to complete. ! See you In the hills..
Thanks Tony, which two have you got left? Maybe see you again soon 😂 Cheers, James
@@ScottishMunroJourney Mayar and Driesh left to do in that area..
Congratulations James, well done👍🏻
Thank you 😁
I think I've narrowed your final round completing trip to 3. As far as I'm aware the Lochaber 4000s (so finishing with Nevis and taking the crazy route there) An Teallach and your auld enemy Ladhar Bheinn all need done and they're all very big ones to round off with.
Thats not far off Jamie, I have a few others with Mull, and 3 of the Glen Affric ones still to do.. also Ben Cruachan and The Forcan Ridge, should be done soon though 😁 Cheers, James
Great vid and well done, just back from wild camp on Ben Avon - can’t beat the Cairngorms 😢
Its a great area for sure, Cheers, James
I recently learned about the Furth Munros which are the ones that meet the criteria in England, Ireland and Wales. Maybe next year eh?
Maybe 😁 will need another challenge soon
