      He most certainly was one of the greatest and most entertaining Manager's of all time! I was introduced to "wrasslin" at an early age since my Father had been a fan since before I was born and still is at 70. Jim Cornette was a common sight back then in the 80s and early 90s so some of my earliest wrestling memories involve him since he managed so many high profile heels over the years. I don't watch much wrestling anymore (I find listening to Jim and Brian review it much more entertaining than actually watching it) but when I did I was always a mark for entertaining heels, cheering for them more often than not. That being the case I became a fan of JC early in life and that's carried on to this day. I would *LOVE* for him to finally get his well deserved recognition and be inducted into the HOF. More than any other non wrestling individual I feel he's earned it. Also, if you take into account his contributions behind the scenes he's more than earned it. Sadly, the WWE will *NEVER* allow that to happen and I honestly can't blame him for saying the only way he would even accept would be if he were nominated along with The Midnight Express. I know it'll never happen but hypothetically if Vince Russo were to be inducted into the WWE HOF at all let alone before Jim I would lose my shit! It would be a travesty and a huge insult and fuck you to Cornette!!!

      @ShadowAngel Because WWE is wrestling to all casuals. People don't have to like that but it's the truth. I guarantee you most of the general public could only name a WWE show if you asked them to name a wrestling show (probably Wrestlemania tbh). You're more of a mark for the business than the people you're accusing of being marks. WWE is a literal monopoly on wrestling. No other wrestling company comes close to brand recognition and revenue that the WWE has made. It's the only game in town as far as most of the world's population is concerned.

    • @vannavanity1195
      @vannavanity1195 3 года назад +6

      Oh, and don't throw in that CTE excuse. Benoit was very cogent when those murders happened. It was nothing more than protracted domestic violence that had been brewing for years. He used to talk to Kelly Kelly aloud on the phone so that Nancy could hear it. Broke furniture. (You imagine being in a room with that freak breaking furniture?) He just didn't want to get off of steroids and end his rasslin career, so he lost his mind and brutally murdered her, then gave a Xanax to his son so he could kill him the next day, then lied to his co-workers, neighbor, and management with different ones so that he wouldn't get a welfare check, then clocked out of life
      It's disgusting to me how people like Meltzer try to play plausible deniability with his murder streak because Benoit was a "nice guy" when they would meet over the years. So are a lot of wife beaters. Then everyone is shocked when it happens.
      No appeals court would have ever given him a retrial over CTE in light of the evidence in question. It was nothing less than premeditated. Any prosecutor would have killed his defense team over Xanax.
      I sometimes wonder if he was so distraught over Eddie Guerrero's passing because Eddie was his de facto Christian marriage counselor and moralized to him to pray or read Scripture instead of beating his wife. Nothing else makes sense for his codependency, then his Bible spectacle in the aftermath of his rampage.

Raw never had a dull moment. But the moment pop culture moved away from that, Russo was no longer relevant in any sense. It goes to show how stupid wrestling people are that they can't see that, insofar as Cornette's inability to appreciate the money and the ratings they drew, and the fact that people kept hiring Russo after 2002, even though he never has been able to tell a good story.

      Russo was a horrible writer but he was an arguably great creative consultant since rasslin people in that bubble are so out of step with pop culture that some idiot like Russo was needed to make the company more in tune with pop culture. All of it was transgressive, from Springer & Povich, South Park & Celebrity Death Match, sitcoms by David Kelly. The worst promoters are those who don't give the public what they want. They made their millions and could afford better talent later on as a result. What was Cornette's idea? Bring in Tracy Smothers and the Rock and Roll Express? The Unabomber? Cornette has good booking fundamentals but so do a lot of other people. Russo lost his usefulness when the public demand shifted.

    Who the F**K would be stupid enough to even suggest that idiot HACK should even be allowed to attend a ceremony. That accent alone should be reason enough to disqualify him

    I'm beginning to think Cornette has a crush on Russo. Seriously. He's absolutely obsessed with Russo.

    Some of us truly loved wrestling and are sad that it's all been burned to embers. Can ya please allow us to mourn the death of something we truly loved?

    I still wonder why people take the WWE Hall of Fame seriously. There's no building, plaque, or a museum in honoring their inductees. Just like Martha Hart said "They don't have a hallway of fame."
    It's complete garbage.

    Oh no how will Vince McMahon sleep at night knowing Vince Russo would reject his invite into the WWE Hall of Fame IF it was offered. Well BRO, I don't think BRO, your ever going to have BRO, to worry about that anyways BRO. 🙄

    As a wrestling fan (not a sports entertainment fan) I thank Vince. Now hopefully Corny gets inducted although I wish Bobby Eaton was here for it.

    Very brave of Russo to take such a bold stance. God knows they must've been blowing up his phone and banging on his front door, practically *begging* Shit Stain to bless them with his presence in their imaginary bullshit Hall of Fame.
