I practice fixed step in Taiwan. This seems kind of cool, but kind of blurry as to the rules between fixed step and moving step. It seems easier to gain an advantage by using footwork that is somewhat vague as to what can be "allowed".
These are intresting rules, similar but not the same as uk yang push hands competition set stance , but those are very diffrent from the authentic chen style rules of competition. Outside of China the west has done its own thing. Could you explain these rules abit we might try this too . Thanks ☯️
In the video description above: Tai Chi push hands, restricted step rules: * Stay upright within the 3' x 12' boundary. * Keep your front leg forward. * No contact to head or neck. No striking allowed. They also offered fixed position practice and free step with single elimination rounds. I think my favorite for free step would be those 30 second "touch and go" rounds to really maximize how much value we get from each of our partners regardless of win or lose.
@@jasonsecretsword7606 very interesting thanks, for comp here we have fixed step and moving step , this sounds like a half step version might try it, scoring is normally fall down or hand touches down. My personal favourites are chen wrestling where we start from Clinch and san shou free hand with striking anything goes . Thanks for sharing, happy training ☯️
Thanks for posting this Chris!
