Wow. Ive been adjusting these blades precisely for about 23 years and always wondered what i would do if my eyes started going bad. Magnifying glass!!!!!!!! Thanx.
I had been trying to align my blades for about a week and finally got it without them nicking me thanks to your video. Also, I found that a quality small hand mirror is a great flat surface to use for aligning the blades too. Thanks for posting this.
damn your genius. as simple as this is ... i never even thought to adjust my trimmers (styliners 2) this way you've explained which would have probably made my day so much easier. so thanks for this video & thumbs up.
Man, this was helpful as hell... A lil off on the verbiage, but we all get high and forget shit... My clippers just started biting, I was about to spend another 60 on them things... Appreciate it
This video really help me out alot. I jest got them same clipper's and thay was cutting like shit! And i found this video and done same adjustments i seen this guy doing and now im bless! This video will help you if you have them clipper's.
I learned a lot here. But, keep in mind some key points you blazed through. Like when you said you set the blade here because thats where it starts. I wished you could have held it a couple seconds longer so we could see exactly where you meant. When I pause the video-it wasn't as clear-so couldn't really tell. But I did learn. Also, what do you think of the Anivo Zero gap setters? I see you have your monster setter there.
When you adjust the tension screw you said screw it until you feel the resistance does the resistance mean when the screw starts to feel like its getting tight?
Thanks for the vid. I hope you could help me - I have an Andis CC-1 clipper and for the life of me I can't figure out how to take it apart... There's one screw at the back but I can't open it. Hope you could help
Thanks for the reply.....I assume "Shapen" is a formal name for "Sharpening" (like sharpening a knife, etc)? I hear that the best result in getting trimmer to cut sharply is to sharpen them with a benchstone (assuming blades are adjust correctly) or get them sharpen by a diamond machine sharpener. I tried sharpening with a bench stone from home depot and i think i actually made it more dull. Any advice or video would be appreciated...thanks in advance!
@dtrustsone Might I ask how much you spent for benchstone from home depot? Is the benchstone still being used or is it collecting dust? How much do you think a blade set cost? I think we all(myself included) do things the hard way, I strongly suggest replacing the blades at least you know that had to pass Quality Control.
@SHEEDY5618 Which trimmer is better? In my opinion both my trimmers are Outliner II's 1 regular blade set, 1 with the T-outliner blade set. Both are good but the T-outliner makes short work when it comes to trimming due to the extra length of the blade. My choise is the T-outliner. What are your thoughts, which is better for you? Thanks for the question. One!
take the blade set off, open it up and take a look at the T-guide. Clean for blades, oil and reassemble the blades and reinstall on the machine and try it out! Make sure it well oiled.
Hey, I I have an Andis T-Outliner and the cutting blade is off centered as the first tooth from the left on the cutting blade is to the left of the first gap on the comb blade. Do you know how I can fix this?
@dtrustsone I'll post a video on the way I "SHAPEN" my blades, in general can never guarantee the flatness of both blade mating surfaces. I'd suggest replacing them for best results. The metal device you're referring to is called a V-Block, I use the V-Block because I know that surfaces are true(flat or 180degrees). I'm a machinist be trade and machined that block myself.
@djzaggay Ayo, this trimmers require regular maintenance, rule of thumb: Tighten the tension screw until it is flush makes contact with the tension spring and then give the tension screw another 1/4 to a 1/2 turn MAX. If you Tighten it all the way the blade set will surely over heat quickly.
@tweety18konk Ayo, this trimmers require regular maintenance, rule of thumb: Tighten the tension screw until it is flush makes contact with the tension spring and then give the tension screw another 1/4 to a 1/2 turn MAX. If you Tighten it all the way the blade set will surely over heat quickly.
@tweety18konk sounds like its wasn't adjusted properly from the factory. Return it to the place you purchased it, they should be able to replace it. good luck.
Hello everyone here...pls help me solve this issue on t-outliner,ma blade wasn't cutting well so I went to sharpen it nice, but before I put it on i made sure I followed all the necessary steps which pple have provided on YT, and there comes the problem, where ever the blade touches on my face burns and leaves heavy black marks after 3 days ..any help pls?
@enjoi1396 the cutting blade is running on an angle? perhaps, the fiber t-guide needs adjusting because the cutting blade runs on the t-guide and if the guide is off-center then the cutting blade will be too. So start over and follow my instructions. If the problem still exist then write me bacc. good luck.
I think its safe to say, from what I've experienced, the Outliners and Styliners differences are in their sizes. Styliners are larger but internally are quite similar. Thanks for watching.
@delace1111 About $12...not expensive at all and the thought is if it worked i would be able to recycle one blade for a long while (and would be more economical in the long run). Anyhow...i get your point!
@aenriquez90 AYO! Thx for the positive feedbacc, Yeee, the magnifying glass does take most of the guess work out of lining up the blades. Nuff Respect go out to all the "BARBERS (amateurs or pros)" on youtube doin they thang!
I DID THT RIGHT BUT NOW IT SEEM LIKE I CANT FIND THE PRO WIT THE SOUND THT MY ANDIS KEEP MAKE LIKE SOMTHING LOOSE WAT CAN THT BE MAN TRYED TIGHTING LOOSEING ALL KINDS OF SHIT I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO BUY NEW ONE AND SHIT HIT ME BACK ..

Thanks for the questions!
So you purchased 2 Outliners and both are very loud?
How many hours-of-usage do you have on them?

do you have to sharpen the blades in order to cut crisp or its enough if you follow the steps of your video how to adjust the t outliner

You have to adjust the tension screw its too loose if its buzzing loud. Also make sure you spray some andis/oster air lube on it. WOrks perfect.
