For anyone looking to solder use flux & tin both the battery & the tab that connects to the battery. Be careful not to get the battery hot or you can ruin it or worse soldering lithium batteries.

Thanks for the battery explanation, I tried to shave with wahl immediately after buying it. It performed terribly, but now i know it just needs a charge.

I just brought the Walhs and they not cutting at all any way how to break them in ???

Absentmindedly plugged mine into to the wrong shaver charger (15V 4.3 W output) and the light came on for a second and then went off. Shaver still works but charging light won’t come on anymore. Did I just burn the LED out? Or did I damage the charging circuitry

I got the same wahl detailer with the same situation. I take to my basement and I drill a very tiny hole exactly on the hook area. I invented the hook with a small thinner piece of metal, and with a tiny screw I hold it in place. I will love to send you a picture.

Bought the black 2 days ago for 35 Ebay comes nezt month I use a styliner for lining and now want to get that extra hair off so I won't have to shave almost every day so thought why not get one of these I'm still wondering why trimmers in general Haven't been able to cut as close as these when they have been out since like '80s Tech in other things has advanced a lot why are trimmers still stuck it seems or is it companies know how to make them cut closer but choose not to

Are these supposed to cut razor sharp to where theres no hair popping out? I have the detailers and i still see hair showing when i go over it with it.

How can i tell if my motor is real or fake, mines doesnt look like yours, the brand says "Johnson" and the logo appears as cRUus" where the "RU" is written backwards.

I had to put the long screws in first to line up then I had to hold it down tightly to to keep the spring from popping up, very frustrating, but it helped to put it together easier.

Hello there,I just want to know if the red light on the Wahl Shaver Shaper 5 Star stays red when it is fully charged or goes off.I have been having one for a long time and recently I discovered that the battery has gone bad,I repalced it with a new battery the same model with the one that I removed from it and have charged it overnight but the light still stays on red.Is this normal or something is amiss.Thanks.

Thanks for posting this. Dropped my shaver and was just about to buy a brand new one before I saw your video. Disassembled mine and notice the battery terminals broke on both ends. Soldered it just like the video and now it's working again. Repaired for $4 (solder) compared to buying a new one for $60.

Thank you so much. Wondeful video. Unfortunately, I dropped my machine a few months back. I can't seem to figure out why it's not cutting any longer. I can't seem to get it to cut. There is practically no signs that it was dropped or of any damage. It's expensive and I don't know if I should replace the blade if I just don't know if this is actually where the issue lies. Thank you in advance for an excellent video and for any additional help!

Hey, thanks for the vid. I had the same issue (exact place where the metal disconnected to the battery after falling). I brought it to a place for welding but they weren’t able to attach it, do you know a product that could stick or hold it together?
