Thanks for posting this. Dropped my shaver and was just about to buy a brand new one before I saw your video. Disassembled mine and notice the battery terminals broke on both ends. Soldered it just like the video and now it's working again. Repaired for $4 (solder) compared to buying a new one for $60.
👍Totally down with fixing our own tools 🔧 🪛 whenever possible. I stoked that you could get your shaver back up and running. 😁👍Give yourself a pat on the back Thanks a million 😊 🙏
Mine stopped holding charge and then stopped working with the power cord. I just disassembled it, cleaned a bit, including swiping both ends of the the battery with my finger (no contact seemed to be disjointed anywhere), then plugged it in again and it works. Only the charging indicator doesn’t light up which leaves me suspicious. But thanks for showing how to take it apart.
Dropped mine last week and my new one arrived yesterday. Couldn't throw the old one away and that's how I found you. Great video and if I could replace the battery in my 160 gb iPod classic this looks doable. Thanks great video and super informative.
Be careful with your soldering work a 6:45. The green plastic insulation that was peeled off now exposes the negative terminal of the battery. You were very very close to soldering the positive to the negative terminal. This would short the battery and could start a fire.
Hey, thanks for the vid. I had the same issue (exact place where the metal disconnected to the battery after falling). I brought it to a place for welding but they weren’t able to attach it, do you know a product that could stick or hold it together?
Absentmindedly plugged mine into to the wrong shaver charger (15V 4.3 W output) and the light came on for a second and then went off. Shaver still works but charging light won’t come on anymore. Did I just burn the LED out? Or did I damage the charging circuitry
So I did this exact thing, ordered the right battery and got a soldering iron and everything. Mine works now but only with the charger plugged in. It doesn't seem to be charging. The original battery definitely had water damage but it worked when plugged in as well. I think I have to order a new charger. So if anyone is having the same issue try ordering a new charger first, might save urself some time.
Hey, nice video. I had a question about my andis shaver. Its turns on fine and charges but doesnt cut any hair. I took off the top piece and the two cutting heads seem to work fine. However when i try to shave myself it doesnt cut anything.
Hi there . What's the Battery model name ? . I need to buy one . My battery burnt off by using different charger than original. My shaver works when wire on but do not hold charging . Thanks
For anyone looking to solder use flux & tin both the battery & the tab that connects to the battery. Be careful not to get the battery hot or you can ruin it or worse soldering lithium batteries.
Bought the black 2 days ago for 35 Ebay comes nezt month I use a styliner for lining and now want to get that extra hair off so I won't have to shave almost every day so thought why not get one of these I'm still wondering why trimmers in general Haven't been able to cut as close as these when they have been out since like '80s Tech in other things has advanced a lot why are trimmers still stuck it seems or is it companies know how to make them cut closer but choose not to
@@DelaceLeCoiffeur my brother connected a cable with a similar insert, but at a voltage of 120 volts, the chip exploded, the chip has eight contacts, and its nominal value cannot be read, so I ask for help, the workshop announced a huge price to me, and I can replace the chip myself.
My battery only last bout a minute and ten seconds, does that mean I have to replace my battery? I already tried to find a new battery but I didn’t find one…
I think the hot glue is a good idea. In the future, if you ever need to remove the hot glue, just rub it with a Q-tip soaked with rubbing alcohol. Use quite a bit of rubbing alcohol. Eventually, the rubbing alcohol makes the hot glue get soft, like magic!
good guide. then the shave is poorly designed, I just bought the ts-1 few weeks ago, when I had to remove the assembly cap, clean it, then put the cap back, the right sides not not close tight, whatever i tried push it, it not close, i had to contact the company, then send a replacement, after 2 use, the same problem happen again.
my battery has some rust on it looks like water damage. Only turns on when the charger is pulled in AND the top is off (no clue why). Gonna get a replacement battery and hope it works.
I had the same problem. Gave it a good cleaning (cutting heads, foil/top piece) and it works now. Seems like the dirt was pinching the heads to keep them from moving. But mine also only runs when plugged in. Not sure what the issue is because the battery connections look good.
Never put glow on the battery, put some spnge above the battery and then put the lid on how make little pressure on the sponge who pressure down the battery and hold it but glow??No,how you gonna chamge that battery next time when is empty and broken the gkow can make it difficult just a tips
It’s possible the hair you’re attempting to shave is longer than 1/32 of an inch long. For this product to work properly, you should first use a pair of Liners to knock the hair down. Good luck
This product was Purchas as a present from my daughter it failed 6 months later it's junk and the battery is too small and no warning it's going to run out, DON'T BUY IT.

Thanks for the advice. Never too old to learn Cheers Charlie 👍😁
What tool was that to remove screws from foil?

Do you know where I can get the battery for this shaver? Thanks for the video!
Amazon
Right on for the shout out bro
what kind of battery do I need? any local stores? or do I have to order
Great video, clear and to the point.
👍😄 thanks Brody 👌

There's two different batteries for the regular profile and the profile lithium
@@dxfordummies I'm pretty sure I just ordered the exact same one as the one I took out of it but thanks for the heads up.

Possible your hair is too long? Could mean your blades and shield need replacing.
Run the hair down with a trimmer first
Woop por fin encontre un video donde pude resolver mi problema con mi andis y yo q pense botarla gracias bro por compartir ese video
Thanks from France, fixed it After dead battery 🔋
Where can i buy this battry . i have been looking for them online could not find them
This worked for me, thanks very much 👍🏻
Thanks 😊 and you're welcome 🔥🔥
Nice. I do like the hot glue idea. Good job. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊

What's the Battery model name ?

Hi, can You tell me the name of the U1 element in this shaver?
My shaver isn't shaving do you know what I can do. I rarely use it and it is charged.
Thanks for the helpful info.
Your very welcome 🙏 👍👌
Was the tab broken too?

you can tell me the name of the chip, mine exploded, I can't identify it, I want to change it myself, but I can't find the circuit. thank you bro!
Sorry to hear that it exploded👎Are you talking about the nickel tab?
I think your want Nickel Plated strips/tabs for the battery.
Good luck 👍 😀

Is there a battery upgrade for these shavers? Like how #tomb45 did the battery upgrade for the #magicclips.
💪 I don't know of any upgrades for this shaver 🤔
Just took mine apart and put it back together and started working it’s almost like the motor was locked up. Oh well works now
Best resolution ever! 😄 Sometimes we get lucky. Salute G
You think an 18650 battery would fit in there? Instead of the 14500 thats in it? Bigger battery more charge capacity…
Good question 🤔 honestly I have no idea. Small appliance electronics is not my specialty. Sorry I wish I had an answer for you.
Mine supreme trimmer stf600 won't stop running on and off button doesn't respond anymore 😏😏
Is it possible you can tell me the value of the U1 chip :D
great vid just got mine, i think ill do the hot glue to avoid this problem in the near future.
🔥😀 Sounds like a good investment 👍👍
Can anyone tell why mine does not shave holds a complete charge but does not function......any hints T. i.A
Mine only works on the charger ?
When you charge it is it supposed to be a red light? Bc I have seen the shavers have a green light and I don’t know if mine is fake or what?
Hi, when I plug my shaver in the led light goes green. Hope that helps 🙏 🙂
Good day what size battery it is ?
Hi Donnie, I never actually took a look at what size the battery was as I was too focused on fixing it.
Great question 😀👍
Your a genius. :)
Hi I got andis shaver no working because when I put the charger it's working and then I have to work with a charger
ok, is there a question in there?
Check the battery connection like his
Hi, my andis profoil shaver only works with a charger. It’s only 2 months old. You know what could be a problem? What should i do? 😉
Check the battery connection 👍
My shaver is about a month old and only works when it's plugged in. I open it up and all wires and battery look properly connected. Any ideas?
Take a careful look 👀 for water damage! But it does sound like a possible bad battery. Good Luck 👍
@@DelaceLeCoiffeur No water damage. But looks like the charger is not the original, I just noticed it doesn't say Andis on it.
My battery only last bout a minute and ten seconds, does that mean I have to replace my battery? I already tried to find a new battery but I didn’t find one…
I can't advise you without using the shaver in person, but it does sound like the battery needs replacing.
Good luck 🤞
Nice fix man.
Thanks Jesse 💪👌

Seems like Andis dropped the ball on firmly attaching the battery inside the housing 🤔
Thanks, I appreciate the comment!
