I don't know why this showed up in my RUclips feed, but I have to say that honest-to-Christmas you have to be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Just wow. Anyway, about the content of your video... (1) If confidence is really about trusting what's going on in the present, how is that different from being complacent? Being a planner, saver, investor, and having a "fortress mentality" has in many times of my life given me mental peace that if things really go south, then I have backups to avert a catastrophe. If a man has definite goals and sees present obstacles to those goals, why wouldn't he make plans and preparations and contemplate on a future where things are better than the present? (2) The concept of "loving yourself" sounds like an empty platitude, because we are just ourselves, neither loving nor hating ourselves throughout our mundane lives. (3) As for compassion toward others, let's take the rose-tinted glasses off for a second and see human nature for what it is: Inherently judgmental. We always size people up based on lookism, social status, race/ethnicity, etc., often subconsciously. Just having a general sense of 'compassion' is kind of useless because people will be more likely to help those that they have higher positive regard for and less likely to fear or feel disgust toward. (4) Can you give us examples of how consistency actually plays out?

Thank you for the thoughtful comment. These are only 4 signs of confidence, but there are many more. To answer your 4 points, 1) this point you made actually touched on my last one (consistent action), 2 & 3 seem to contradict each other… compassion toward the self and others is reflective… our capacity to feel compassion and love toward ourselves actually fuels our capacity to do so for the world around us, 4) taking consistent action toward your vision and values, following through on promises, etc.

Very good points! I would like to add the spiritual/philosophical "closure" some people seem to have that adds to their confidence, like when a person truly has come to terms with how they view everything, they are not afraid of the unknown like death etc. Those people have always come of as the most charismatic to me, you get a sense of security from being around them.

Oh I love this one. If I’m understanding this right, you mean that state of acceptance of the unknown and not needing to have anything figured out. Great point

I think presence and compassion really resonates with me. When I am fully present in the moment, I tend to observe every beautiful things and can take corrective actions which makes me confident. And being compassionate with myself in every actions and being just human who feels things and makes mistakes and that’s normal. Knowing that makes me the most confident.
