I just recently adopted my first cat that I had rescued off the street who had a bad case of overgrooming, she is getting better now,but it's hard to apply medication on her,as she squirms away and she will lick those areas where I apply the medication,so it's quite a battle in helping her. Really appreciate all these videos to help me and other pet guardians understand our pet's condition, and to be more patient and understanding while treating our kitties
My cat had a cone on and he learnt with his hind paw he could scratch at the scabs and do serious damage to his skin. I put a little cat suit on him and he could scratch though it. I put a sanitary pad- stuck to the cat suit and it help. He now licks raw wherever he can reach 😢
It might be ringworm, which is not a worm, but a fungus. Try some grape seed extract with water mixed with it. I used 5 oz of water with 20 drops of extract. Wipe it all over the cat’s body twice a day. It’s nice as it doesn’t smell or anything and you can put it in a spray bottle. My cat is older and I’ve given her baths, but it’s almost impossible as she can get her arm through the cat bath bag and then, acts like I’m trying to murder her. Also, don’t let your vet talk you into putting the cat on prednisone until you’ve looked at the 2 pages of side effects! No kidding! Good luck.
