Really!? I’ve played both and honestly love both no issue. I do understand how the first one is more free with the building and not everyone’s cup of tea but still I wouldn’t say ruined. But regardless I rather see him happy playing games than forced especially 7 Days
@@J1Pa17 SOTF just hardly works, so many bugs and glitches. not once have i had a play session without having a bug to lower the experience. not a silly bug. but one that does not allow me to use a feature of the game.
Hell yeah, I started playing this game because of you, glad to see you come back to it! A couple things that may be useful, you can replace the bars with scaffolding ladders, you can melee and shoot through them (though you can still hit the ladders, and you can't build them double sided or they may climb them), the other thing is that you can build an elevated base so that way you make sure the zombies come from one direction only, and they won't beat on your walls, so you can use those extra materials to elevate the base. Really interested in what you have planned for this game
rather than bars, you can use scaffold ladder, you can melee through. However if you face it toward the zombies, they will try to climb it, so you cant place it double sided, so need to be on top of repairing it. On the plus side, it does stop most cop spit though.
One of my favorites playing one of my favorites, fuck yes. I really hope you do some cool OG The Forest shenanigans with 7d2d, it definitely has potential for Farket fun.
You’re a fantastic content creator. You’re interesting and fun to watch when you’re into the game. 7 Days is perfect or any survival game where you can be creative. You’re talented and articulate and a joy to watch. I hope you find a game or games that are suitable for a series and help further your success.
Glad to see you sounding less frustrated. It was sad to see you get to where Sons of the Forest wasn't fun for you anymore, but so glad you are continuing to create content.
Holy crap you moved on to literally one of my favorite games to another of my favorite! I’d absolutely love to see you make a series on a 7dtd save, love you Farket!
Glad to see you're playing 7 days on here dude, and you sound more entusiastic than you've been for months! But ah man, there's a lot of technical issues with the advice you've given about block shapes and the nature of horde night, the main (and simplest to correct) being that there are block shapes that both stop vultures swooping down, plus stop cop spit, but allow you to melee or shoot through. The Bar shapes aren't them though, you've gotta use things like the Scaffolding ladders and there's even some decorative blocks that seem counter intuative that do the job. Second, horde night lasts until morning or until you've cleared the quota of zombies it wants to spawn. It is still possible to end horde night early if you're fast enough at killing them, but I imagine this is harder to do with Melee. Keep it up though, I'm looking forward to seeing your design philosophy and strategies for progression.
11:18 the bug is well known. It happened when you use any block that doesn't filled the whole block space i.e 1/2, 3/4, and all those block types. Usually it glitched them underground or worse, inside your walls. The only fix is to just get away from the base and let them despawn naturally.
The glitch where they get under your blocks has been around for a while. It happens when the zombies get too numerous and start pushing each other through blocks. This tends to happen a lot when you use blocks other than full blocks.
One tip I can give against the birds early on is to line the roof with wooden spikes. The birds die to them quickly and you can replace them with iron eventually until you have a turret/traps that will take care of them. Love to see you back on 7 days!
Sweet 7 days! looking forward to more vids. The glitch where the zombies are under youre base has been around in the last couple alphas, they can glitch in poi's its rare but does happen. Funny how its full release and things like that are still in game haha.
Hey Farket, Brit coll here. lol just saying I liked this video a lot you seem enthusiastic to play other games. I know it did not do as well in the algorithm just yet but keep this fun content coming and people will start tuning while you build a new fan base. Been a watcher for a while and sending some love for your sisters kids that I know you were taking in a bit ago. I know you keep it non serious and don’t talk about personal stuff very often, im just sending some love to an Aussie brother across the pond.
I really hope you succeed in pivoting, it can be really hard when you only upload one game for so long. You will probably take a hit to views but stay strong! I believe in you and your content.
I've probably been subbed for 5 or 6 years, and I am so happy that you've stopped doing Sons videos. It was such a cool journey to go on together, but it ended with disdain for the game, and you were clearly unhappy with them. 7 Days To Die is a game I've personally been waiting to hit 1.0 for over a decade, and I am so excited for your future with this game!
I have over 3000 hours in the game. What you want is scaffolding ladder. Allows you to melee through them and stops cop spit. Also they don't glitch through it. Fill the entire gap with them. For birds just put cheap wood traps up top to kill them.
long time viewer and a huge fan, if you do look for efficiency, the ideal base is a about a 17x17x square pit where you make a small square room in the middle top of the pit with support collums and allow zombies to use ladders across the pit to get back to you. the entrance of your hnouse should ne just a hatch and the way to get to you is a garage door that you manually open or close . thats the most mportant tning because at the pit you can make a huge electric femce grid that wil eventually wear down as you fight even haedest difficulty horde nights with 64 spawns and melee only
Traps usually are not made to kill zombies but to weaken them before they reach you so you can kill them using less bullets or melee hits. For those that get killed by traps, there's a skill point that upgraded will net you 50% XP of the kill from traps. Also, late game you'll have most stuff you need already so no more spending money and you'll be selling stuff to traders all the time, there won't be any use for dukes/money other than to melt them to make bullet casings so you will always have plenty of ammo. It's clear you didn't really play it until mid-late game. I wish you would make a proper 7D2D series preferably with a less extreme min-max mindset and with a big focus on (base) building. The building in this game is really cool.
WARNING, I just spent my first horde night in this base and got fuuuucked up. I think they changed the path finding for zombies a little while ago and as soon as the night started they started attacking the walls next to where you stand and wouldn’t come down the hallway. Ended up spending the whole horde night on the roof, but I survived. 10/10 first horde night experience
This is random but have you ever played Dying Light 1 or 2? That may be good content. It's a survival like game. The first in particular has a cult following. Consider becoming a variety streamer. We like you bc of your personality bro. We'll watch if you put out the content. Consider engaging with us live more often. You *can* do this
Been hoping for more 7DTD content for way too long ,ive watched all you previous stuff and love it (Ive never even played it myself, ngl but love your content bro )😆 New series in the future maybe..??
I thought you might fallback to 7days, it’s a great choice and a lot of the game has been fleshed out since you did videos on it, I believe. Game on mate!
An easy fix for birds is to use any spike trap, iron or wood, they one shot vultures in any tier. The zombies like to stack so a four height roof is preferred but 2 thick should prevent them from digging down to the player. The biggest downside is demolishers for sure as they do so much damage and the button got moved to the shoulder so almost all aoe attack pushes it now. There's no way to fix that unfortunately. Overall that's the only improvement that would need to be made to this base that I see, overall a really good design. I'm sure you can use scaffolding ladders in a horizontal position instead of bars as well if you wanted to hit through them but that's up to preference. The design looks like it holds up alright considering how they changed enemy health and it takes way more hits to defeat them.
Sorry for the paragraph, I love 7 days and enjoy seeing you make a video on it. I just got carried away a little bit with small improvements and whatnot haha.
I would still stick to the ramp/kill corridor thing. Where they run op 3/4 blocks and then run over a narrow pathway. Its been working till a near radiated only horde.
@Farket Press Z then use mouse to select the area u want the put the base in. Then get the wrench dev tool. Put 1 steel block down and select it with the wrench and then choose replace all frok the menu of the wrench and click the blue selected area. Once you understand it you will never use anything different for these tutorials when making a baseplate to work on😊
That's a death trap base my guy. I would never build a base directly on the ground. Tho I like you playing it now. Hope you make a playthrough series out of it
I have found that melee bases are good for the first few horde nights. After a while fall bases work better to recycle the zombies. Something like a double door to drop all the zombies so you can regen stamina and health as well as repair the base. Electric fence posts help a lot with stun locking enemies.
Melee bases works best when you have a gun as a back up while you wait for stamina to Regen. An auto turret or two on the roof will take care of the birds
Would be nice to have an intro to this game for those who'vr never played it (also a bit worrying how many glitches you mention when game has just released after apparently being in EA since the industrial revolution)
Here bc I've just done my second horde on the new console version and I hate the idea of cheesing or automating my defence. May give this a try for D21 and hope I don't get overwhelmed. 😅
The ground glitch seems to happen when there's so many zombies piling on top of each other. They get pushed through the blocks. Had this happen to me on a crazy army POI. I was pushed underneath. Perhaps the game needed more development time... (joke).
Hola, farket! I dont know if you read comments, but i really hope you hear my recommendation when i tell you to try playing valheim. Its definitely something youd enjoy. Ps : Love you, bro

@J1Pa17 7 days to die has more building capabilities than SOTF 100% Also the building in SOTF is just straight up infuriating

Really interested in what you have planned for this game
You can also loot and repair through the scaffold ladders and they block cop spit (usually), at least until TFP nerf them anyway.
They won't climb them if you make them face your direction so it's only a ladder to you.

spikes on the roof help. Once day 100 though you'd likely have some turrets (maybe quest reward) to keep the birds down. Overall a good base design

super vid! series when?
pretty good but i always raise this so when i hit them i knock them down onto a spike pit, works very well
