Two men , one woman, so of course a strong feeling of déjà vu. And yet a black-and-white like this one has something about it that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Thanks for it!
I've been putting off watching this movie because I didn't think I'd particularly like it, because the title made me think it'd probably be kinda dumb. I finally decided to go ahead and watch it tonight, and, to my pleasant surprise, it's probably the best film I've seen in a long time.
Not seen this one before but what a joy to watch Angela Lansbury and Raymond Burr. It never ceases to amaze me how physically impressive Raymond Burr was.
Jessica Fletcher never looked so good. Great movie. I'm betting that it was a partial inspiration for Perry Mason. Well, at least for the casting of Raymond Burr.
I did not know of this film, so this is my first time seeing this Poverty Row gem. Raymond Burr (Craig Carlson) and Angela Lansbury (Myra Leeds) are superb with a good supporting cast including a fine performance by John Dehner (District Attorney Ray Willis). I found myself so caught up in the dialogue between Carlson and Leeds towards the end (at 1:09:00), I had forgotten Carlson left the recorder on which Willis then reveals with devasting effect. Thank you for sharing!
This is a must see for all Raymond Burr and Angela Lansbury fans. Perry Mason and Murder She Wrote fans too. This is a classic with a great cast of actors and style. Too bad about the music in the beginning being raspy.
Funny how the latter years beloved Angela Lansbury was very often playing the femme fatale or totally wicked she always incarnated convincingly the villainous as the total opposite, I admire her greatly. Meanwhile Raymond Burr was born to play a great defense lawyer, even in a ♿ which is the part he's mostly remembered for.
If you can find it, check out "Something for Everyone," a great role for aging Lansbury and devilish young Michael York. In the (wheelchair?) I believe Burr was Chief of police "Ironside." If you mostly remember that, you are just younger than me!
Los Angeles in all its 1950s glory....a sturdy cast of great actors...a serious noir plot and believable theme....I just cannot understand why the producers couldn't find an actual Armenian to play the role of Lou Kazarian...oh well, such is life.
Volume on the soundtrack supposed to enhance the suspense as was quite common in those days, but I find it 1:13:47 was quite annoying. ❤The rest of the movie.
The Sprocket Vault, what does it mean great cast for a noir? it seems you lack knowledge in film history. In fact, noir movies of the 40s and 50s were the most celebrate genrre of that time.
I feel that way about commercials, too, but we have no say in how many RUclips inserts into our movies. Sometimes there are a lot, and others very few. We have to pay to license the movies on our channel, so the only way we can afford to operate is through the very modest ad revenue RUclips pays us. You might consider RUclips Premium ($13.99/month), which offers almost a billion videos (including ours) without commercials. We make a lot less money, but it makes our subscribers happy.

Fantastic movie - Angela Lansbury and Raymond Burr are marvelous in it. It's a good reminder of just what great actors they are!
About to watch it. Just the fact that has Raymond Burr convinced me to check it out. Thanks for uploading this.
Was excellent.
In 55 minutes I will die and be reborn as q giant Japanese reptile monster.

Angela Lansbury looked splendid here! Such a gifted and lovely lady she was, may she rest in peace.
Brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing this movie. The acting was exceptional as well as the story.
Great movie. No actor ever played the role of attorney better than Raymond Burr. Angela Lansbury was fantastic.
Raymond Burr starred in this movie in between Rear Window (1954) and Perry Mason (1957). What a great actor !
Really good film. Have watched it several times over the years and it still gives me chills.
Thanks for the upload! I saw it years ago, and there were of twists I had forgotten. Worth watching again!
Thanks for the great movies you bless us with.makes my day.thanks again ❤😊

Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like a good one. Thanks!
Raymond Burr, born in New Westminster BC, May 21, 1917... fantastic bio.
This movie should have been right up there with the greats.
This was a great one - loved it! The sound’s a little off, but still great.

She makes a set of pearls look werth it
How ironic that Angela Lansbury became famous as a crime detective or something and I can't remember what it was called try as I might.
Outstanding movie!❤
very good movie. it's sentimental and tragic.
This was a good movie!!!
Where did you find this print? Its one of the best ive seen! This needs a remastered Blu Ray release! Its such a unique noir!
We work hard and providing the best quality!
What about the script-writer the director and all the people whom are part o making this beauty of a film?
Another really good story & well acted. Thanx for these great movies.😋
Glad you like them!
Perry Mason wins another case!!!
Yes but this time it is not the case that rests, but it's he himself. Permanently. And by that wicked Jessica Fletcher !
Denver Pyle is in this movie!!!!
Great flick! Ironside was so young and good looking back then.
She's not too bad also!
The only character who could manifest the perfection of justice: Perry Mason 🎉
R. Burr and theremin; sweet.
UNCLE JESSIE ??
seems like a pilot for perry mason series. burr found himself in that role.
Murder she wro... euhhmmm committed. Or: Jessica Fletcher versus Perry Mason. And this time it is not "cherchez la femme".
Interesting .." B" movie .. very well done..😊.. just my opinion
Volume on the soundtrack supposed to enhance the suspense as was quite common in those days, but I find it 1:13:47 was quite annoying. ❤The rest of the movie.
Angela Lansbury? Ok, I'm in.
Myra takes hypergamy to an entirely new lethal level.
This could have been a Perry Mason episode.
Doesnt ghe artist ghink its odd that he can go off and marry Raymond Burrs girlfriend without upsetting him 😂😂
More interesting scripts. And storylin😢es you could believe

Cannot see this movie it’s far too dark like a lot of American movies.

Very odd and uncomfortable movie
Who else notices the hauntingly delicate theremin strains in the soundtrack?
I love Angela's Pie Face
I always thought of it as a Virginia ham.
What's a "pie face" 🥧 🤔?
