I’m in good physical shape so I will give it a shot even more as I always do. Grew up with this game too. I’m always up for a challenge and I don’t give up easily
The Japanese opening was even better when translated, but can only remember the last line, it wasn't let's attack aggressively, it was "I'll never forgive those bastards."
Game was so difficult when I was young, barely got past stage 2, fast forward to 2022 and I finally beat it after all those years. Magnificent game for its time and the memories.
+Martín Agüero Yeah, I agree. I've been playing Contra III: The Alien Wars and Ninja Gaiden II (NES). Two badass games that have some of the best artwork that I've ever seen for 2D Action games.
@@logria10 contra 3 is graphically and musically superior, but hard corps have 4 characters more weapons more bosses more difficulty more endings more replay value
@@zengram Yes, it has more replay value, but Contra 3 still better for me. Better music, better graphics, better level design and harder in hard mode. Hard Corps is a great game though, no doubt.
I never really took a moment to consider how absolutely fucking crazy this whole game is... I was too busy enjoying playing it back in the day but when you watch it back... konami must have been on a fucking shit load of drugs haha!
oh and it gets even better when you read the actual plot of the games, like holy shit. yet nobody has done a video about the crazy plot of these games, like che guevara is the intergalactic president, the alien giant worm from the first game is hitler, he and the skull with snake arms have an organization called red falcon (yes all the tanks and shit are theirs.)
I used to play this along with Super Mario Bros., MK3, SF 2, Sonic Wings, Gradius III, Sunset Riders and Top Gear on arcade. Ahh my childhood days! Back when life is simple
My 15 years old son said Dark Souls was too hard, and I replied: "no, it isn't, I like it a lot, but it is just a grind, not really hard". And so he wanted to know what was the hardest game I ever played. "The old Contra games, for sure."
No offense to your son, but there is a phrase that no one uses anymore... "Nintendo Hard" ...there's a reason this phrase exists. Contra 3 was one such game, there are many other games that are as hard or harder in the NES/SNES eras.
Thank you for taking me back to one of my favorite SNES games! I still have both the system and the game but both of my controllers are busted!😥😥 The SNES was a great system!!
I love games that try new things every level I especially love the overhead levels and that one level where’s your on a motorcycle and then next thing you know your hanging on a helicopter and then your shooting Aliens and then your fighting a Brain and then it turns into a spider made from heads and starts chasing you up the helicopter, HOLY SHIT THERES JUST SO MUCH STUFF GOING ON IN THIS GAME it a perfect demonstration of what the Super Nintendo is capable of
This is more than just a platform game, it is an epic adventure. The guns, the sounds, the bosses, the creatures, the machines, the pace, the music, etc. Awesome game.
Wow. I was a champion at this back in 1993. It took me like a couple months to master the whole thing. I dont remember the laser doing so much damage!! (In floor plan levels it was a must, but my weapon of preference was Fire). Sick game.
"Look, just because it's an armor-plated alien killing machine that salivates unspeakable slobber, doesn't mean it's a bad person. What we've got to do is get it round a table, and put together a solution package -- perhaps over tea and biscuits."
This and hard corp is my most favourite contra game. Followed up by another two games in Famicom 👍. Very enjoyable playthrough from Valis77 here, World Of Longplays youtuber. Thumb up for Emperor Gava epicness in this game too👍👏👍👏.
My cousin and I used to spend hours playing this game. We were so happy, always having fun trying to beat the game even though we couldn’t defeat the last boss. Ahh good old times
I remember a trick in an ancient stack of papyrus called I think "video game magazine" where with a turbo controller, you set the gun selection button to well, turbo and with it enabled, you can then "2D dual wield"! A good combo would be then double missiles, 2 lasers or a mix of them.
Defo top 5 SNES game placement Epic Action . If it wasn’t for this game we would’ve have Gunstar Heroes for the mega drive and Metal Slug for the Neo Geo and OMG THAT SOUNDTRACK!!!!
I managed to finish Contra III on the hard level a handful of times, without needing any continue, and playing alone. And the hard level on this game is indeed HARD!!
Konami made some of the best games ever made for snes and sega genesis wish they would come back it's a shame they're not around anymore so many good titles
This shit was super sick back in the day. Brought back Soo many memories of me in my bedroom in Phoenix in the 90's. I remember one year my pre Christmas phrase to my dad was "better have Contra 3". Lol
This game puts you under so much pressure and tests your reflexes so much that you pretty much need to be in good physical shape in order to beat it.
It's crazy fucking difficult even using multiple save states throughout the level
I’m in good physical shape so I will give it a shot even more as I always do. Grew up with this game too. I’m always up for a challenge and I don’t give up easily
That or least a decent reaction speed
Cheat code is your good friend. Even using Invincible, there is a boss that hits you. you still need to evade or die, LOL.
"Let's attack aggressively!"
Manliest line in video game history.
Lol yeah 🤣
*The Alien Wars begin!*
Me: "Yeah!"
"It's time for revenge".
Me: "YEAH!"
"Let's attack aggressively".
Me: *"YEA......* wait, what?"
i even imagined stalone's voice saying it
Best non-toxic manliest line
Please note that there is no exclamation mark. Which makes it even more badass
I feel so proud to have spent my childhood playing this topclass game and championing at it.
hell yeah 🤘

Me and my siblings played this all the time. Great game man
One of the greatest games of my childhood.
One of the best soundtracks for a video game ever made!
One of the best sounds in general. Just listen to those gunshots and explosions, man!
For me it was STAGE 2, 3, AND 4. BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER.
This and gradius 3
UN Squadron's soundtrack has to be mentioned when talking about the best.
I'm proud I beat this game with my son many times. He was born in 2004.
Your son kicks ass bro!
Maybe just my opinion but this game was INTENSE for it's time. Still is!
Contra 3 is total fucking madness. Great game.
So I'm not the only one who thought it was intense 😳
Yes it is but I don't like the soundtrack nearly as much as super c
It is intense and thats why its a great game, cheers ^0^.

One thing i learned from Contra is this:
If were ever invaded by aliens, call Bill and Lance. They'll take care of it
Find the pilot of the Vic Viper while you're at it. More aliens are probably lurking in the nearby outer space.
+RodriguezRacer 456 And don't forget Jeff Goldblum.
+Exeron Alien Apocalypse Squad
Don't ever forget to bring along some Ellen Ripley badassery along the way
Funny, we have been invaded by them already
