Hank Junior did the NFL promos for many years . There were more stars in that video than there are in the sky , ✌❤☕
Best NFL song ever then their ass went WOKE
NFL booted him after many years because they went woke and Hank didn’t.
@@lindaartz3297 In my big old woke and pretty eyes I say they were probably tired of the MAGAfukkers hate.
Monday night football!
Yes!!!
Lots of famous people at Hank's party, Paul Williams, Jim Varney, Little Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, The Oakridge Boys, Waylon Jennings, Grandpa Jones, Cheech Marin, Kris Kristofferson, Bobby Bare, Willie Nelson, Porter Wagner, Mel Tillis and there may have been a couple more.
George Thorogood, too!
George Jones was on riding lawnmower. Fun fact GJ use take the riding lawnmower to the liquor store cause his wife would hide the keys so he wouldn't drive while he was drinking. So he saw lawnmower and the keys in it and he took off down the road 😅

Hank Williams is 🔥!
HE did NFL, "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!?"
Paul Williams was I believe the original Dr. Zaus from the original Planet of the Apes
When Hank got older, he wrote pt.2 to this song. "All my rowdy friends have settled down".
That song came out first
Actually, "All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down" was released September 5, 1981, and "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" was released in October 1984, three years later. I also thought Rowdy Friends Settled Down came out later until I did some research.
That song actually came out several years before this song. Although I can see how it could appear so.
@@stevethompson6772 Then Hank remade it for Monday Night Football
I really like the way he mentioned Kris in the song also
"Are you ready for some football? A Monday night party! We got Dan and Frank and Al are gonna get it started!" 🎶
right up until the Obama comment...
exactly! one of the first modern "cancellations" @@ClassicRollPlayer
That's my elderly neighbor's house. He's in the video and he's told me amazing stories about that video shoot. 40!
The guy in the Cadillac at the end was supposed to he his father Hank Williams Sr, who died in the back of a Cadillac on New Years of 1953 when Hank Jr was 3.

The Highway Men - Willie, Kris, Waylon & Johnny
1. This was an official NFL song played weekly at the start of games for at least one year!
2. Highway Man (controversial song about reincarnation from 1984 caught some heat from religious groups) Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings (played Dukes of Hazard intro and is a LEGEND!) and Kris Kristopherson ...check that out, very good!
The melody was used for the MNF theme for "All My Rowdy Friends are here for Monday Night". He actually did slight variations each week to introduce the teams that where playing that week.
He opened MNF for 23 years, 22 of which used the "parody" of this song. The other year, he wrote and performed a song called The Monday Night Football Boogie, totally original song.
Kris was an Army officer, helicopter pilot and had his Ranger tab. He was also in the Blade movies with Wesley Snipes.
Also, one of the remakes of A Star is Born
Also a Rhodes scholar, I believe. And a smoke show.
I was in Okinawa when he was visiting with the Cowboy Cheerleaders when they were super popular. He was very nice, and was not busy so we got to talk for 30 min+. Never brought up acting or singing, we just talked military service and some of the brotherhood we shared. I think he enjoyed talking about our service, and not entertainment. Very nice man.
He was also a Rhodes scholar!
Funny that you say the piano sounds like great balls of Fire, since Jerry Lee Lewis is the one who taught hank how to play
Spot On!
I was born in 1970, and the bottom line is...the 80's were about great music, having a great time, laughing at yourself. No worries about any bullshit from anyone, we all "got along" with one another without even having to think about shit like that!
He was the intro to Monday night football for like 20 years
Until he spoke out as a conservative
@@jasonmatkovich6342 they actually hired him back after that. They fired him in 2011 and rehired him for 3 seasons in 2017.
1989-2011
@beedeegee9374 like I said they brought him back in 2017, look it up. I believe he did it for 3 more years.
@@garygoodman4342 I’m not disputing what you posted, only added the date he debuted and was let go originally.
The convertible with 1 guy and some girls, represented his father, Hank Sr., he died in the back seat of a car, while being driven between gigs.
His childhood was growing up in a house that Fats Domino's, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johny Cash would frequently visit & he literally grew up learning from those guys. His mother had him on stage at the age of 8 performing.
This was the Monday night football theme for years. Can’t believe y’all didn’t recognize it! Good stuff as always fellas
Yep. Should’ve waited til the end. Haha
It was canceled 3 Presidents ago. Probably 15 years ago
Well, now you gotta do All my rowdy friends have settled down
The old man in the window was from the TV show Hee Haw. It was a skit in the show called “Hey grandpa, what’s for supper?” and he would give a list of varying items recognized as down home food.
Grandpa Jones!
Stringbean was there
That segment was better, before they started trying to rhyme everything.
The first few comments didn't EVEN talk about this, so here ya go from an OLD guy: Hank Williams (Sr) was one of the very FIRST mega-stars in Country Music. Hank Jr. started out and originally made his name doing his dad's music, BUT he also wanted to branch out into his own style. This is one of the first going down that road. He has a son also, Hank Williams III, who is now showing the world that anyone named Hank Williams is gonna play music that resonates with HIS age-group.
There are a ton of celebrity cameos in this video. So fun!
In the 80s this was called "Young Country", it was new, upbeat and he even had a song called "Young Country" addressing the new genre that the Grand Ole Opry bunch was NOT into...
Now we have "Hick Hop" and you can thank Hank!
We are young country is another good Hank song.
Hank Jr had a ton of personal influences from tons of artists from a young kid, because his dad was so huge and well loved. I remember a clip of him at a concert playing piano, and talking about how Fats Domino taught him some stuff on the piano.
Once Hank Jr started going his own way, he started incorporating blues and rock into his music. Whereas before, people were trying to mold him to be the shadow of his father. He got a lot of flack for trying to have his own identity.. Listen to "All in Alabama" by Hank Jr.
Hank Williams Jr… was a rock star hell raiser.
Hank Jr is one of my favorite artist. He does Country, Blues and Southern Rock...and does them all great.
Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, The Highwaymen
Can't even imagine something like The Highwaymen ever happening again.
Thise are all top country artists and dome are known actors!❤ Everybody loves Hank jr
The Highwaymen
Chris Christofferson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Willie Nelson.
All their songs are amazing, the most popular one is called The Highwaymen
The Monday Night football theme song "Are You Ready For Some Football" was his song. And it does have a very similar tune.
I'd love to see someone finally react to his song called, "All in Alabama".
It's about his 500ft fall off a mountain, and nobody has reacted to it. I find it very odd that other Hank Jr fans don't recommend that one.
There's so many well known faces to mention. I'd list them, as I've done before, but feel like I'd be doing so in vain.
My favorites are George Jones on the mower, and Jim Varney. George was infamously known for riding a lawn mower into town for liquor, because his wife hid all of the other keys and vehicles from him.
Did you notice all the musicians in this video...:-)
There is such an astonishing number of celebrities from Country and Rock in this video.
Here comes the hits, the bangs, the blocks and the spikes
Cause all my rowdy friends drop in on Monday night
Willie Nelson, Johny Cash, Kris Christopherson, waylon Jennings = The Highwaymen. A country super group definitely worth checking out. Starting with the song Highwayman.
Many of the friends coming over are great country artists in their own right. This is about as country as you can get. Country music covers a wide range of styles.
The group you are referring to is called the highwaymen consisting of Johnny Cash. Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.
Just about everyone in the video were big name stars. Great Reaction
He has a follow up song called “All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down”
Song ya mentioned was released first. Just being polite for the record if some one reads.
Both classics, as well as others.
@@Ol_Blue Yeah. Logically, "Coming Over Tonight" SHOULD have come first and "Settled Down" SHOULD have come second, but life isn't logical. Hank was feeling wistful and wrote "Settled Down" in the early '80s. Then, a few years later, he went full-Bocephus and came out with "My Rowdy Friends are Coming Over. "Coming Over" turned out to be bigger--and then ABC and MNF made it probably the biggest song of Junior's career.
Man you can go for days listening to Hank Jr. All the stuff he can sing play and do you'd be amazed once you dive deep into his catalog...keep going man you will not be disappointed.
This was used by the NFL for a good while. Lots of famous people in this one. Great choice, thanks for doing.
I am a small town country boy who always loved rock and still do. I still loved the outlaw country from the time I was a teenager. They changed country music for the better. I listened to Hank Jr and Waylon as much as any rock. I still do. I wish there was more of it around among new country artist.
This is why it's called SOUTHERN ROCK!!✌🐢
Hank sang the theme song to Monday Night Football for several years. Yes, it was based on this song.
Hank is the Son of a Country music legend who had to carve his own path. he had many hardships in his life....Now he is a Legend as well
We called it Rock-a-Billy. This really a star studded video!
Think rock-a-billy is what your thinking with the Jerry Lee sound.
He made this into the Monday Night Football theme for a decade plus. All the cameos are stars of the period and the ghost car was Hank Sr.
Talent. Huge star, no one will forget.
He was the original Sunday night football kickoff. Hank Jr. was part of the outlaw country scene. He is a down to Earth red blooded American.
Check out his 2018
Take A Knee, Take A Hike whether here as a reaction or on your own. You won't be disappointed.
Keep going down this catalog, you won't be disappointed.
Hank Jr was like the hallway between Southern Rock and Country Music.
He was the one that merged the two together !
One of my favorite songs to dance to back in the day... ✌️❤️🎶You are talking about The Highway Men, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. 💕Hank Williams Jr used to announce Monday Nite Football! He would sang Are you ready for some Football! It's a Monday night party! 💕
Now you need to listen to his song All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down. I love my country music especially the legends. Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson are my favorites. Thank you for your videos.
There's little wonder that you picked up on Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls of Fire. Jerry Lee taught Hank Jr how to play piano when he was a boy. Now Hank does a little "tribute" to him in every show on the piano. Now you need to do Hank's Born to Boogie, it's country but it has been compared to some early rap with its hard hitting quick rhymes.
We would see who could name the most of the 'friends'. Some were/are true legends of country music, and rock-a-billy, and rock. This is pretty much the theme of my misspent youth, a keg, a band, and friends and we were set.
Rockabilly that's the Great Balls Of Fire sound you're talking about. And yes Hank can slide between Outlaw Rockabilly and blues country
Yes. They used it for a lot of football commercials at one time. I could be wrong, the the dancers looked like the Solid Gold dancers.
when the song "Baby got Back" by Sir-Mix-Alot came out, it changed the whole culture and started the fad - if you listen to the official video, the beginning of it pretty much says the way it was looked at before 1992..........
You have to do all my rowdy friends have settled down
This was the song for the NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!
Don’t make fun of country people. They are the backbone of America
The name of the group is The Highway Men. Willie Nelson Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings. The song is also The Highway Men.
Most awesome guy ever.. hubby worked on his farm.. he did the monday night fball thing on TV
Yes, Hank Williams Jr did the intro music for Monday Night Football for a long time using a version of this song.
I'm from this time and I can tell you, almost all of his rowdy friends are country music legends.
Country music is much more diverse in style than many ppl realize.
There is another song he released after this one.........All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down....
The cameos in this video are AMAZING!
Hank Williams Jr. used to live in my hometown! His old house (not the one from the video) is legendary in the area!
You really need to react to All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down!
They also used the song for the Monday night football theme song for years! Country/Rock on HANK!! Also look at all the guys showing up for the party the are all legit performers or famous peeps themselves!
Yes Hank Williams Jr, did the opening intro to Monday Night Football, there was also Bobby Bare, Willie Nelson, Mel Tillis, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, and several more. HANK Jr.was a real traditional country music singer also you should listen to "HEAVEN CAN'T BE FOUND" real country music!!!
Hank Jr. did the opening song for Monday Night Football and I think he built what he sang each week on this song. There's a lot of similarity.
Kris Krostofferson In 1958, Kristofferson was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford,[10] studying at Merton College.[11] While at Oxford, he was awarded a Blue for boxing,[11] played rugby for his college, and began writing songs.
Another great song of his is The Legend of the Wolley Swamp.
Classic HWJ song... ruff and tumble, red neck rowdy, git-r-done country! As mentioned below, this in earlier years when he was "livin the dream" of party hardy, let's get loose time of life... he has since settled down a lot but the voice still is rich and raspy, down home outlaw country. Thanks for bringing this BP, you are always picking good ones. Love your reactions. You're the best!
Thank you for being a friend .
Hank Jr. did the opening song for Monday Night Football for years!😁❤️✌️
I went to two of his concerts in Houston. The energy is there!!!
funny you draw a parallel between hank and jerry lee lewis because jerry lee taught hank piano and was a big influence on his music style
Yes Sunday night football was Hank Jr for yrs!!and that was his dad Hank Wms Sr at end of video in car .. he died young in a car wreck
Chris Kristopherson is a huge legend. He wrote songs for just about everyone of all genres. Check out his songs and who he wrote songs for... you will be amazed!!!
This man, Bocephus was a huge influence on my younger self. I partied hard during the week and harder on the weekends. Me and all my rowdy friends. I saw him live 3 times near Nashville at Starwood. He played every instrument on the stage and had a cup full of whiskey the whole show. He did 20 minute acoustic set by his self to give his band a break. He won CMA Entertainer of the year three years in a row. Hank Jr grew up singing his dad’s songs after his dad passed. After he fell of the side of a mountain he remade himself into the man you see now. His own man! His daddy was a bad ass, and IF YOU DONT LIKE HANK WILLIAMS YOU CAN KISS MY ASS!!
Not for sure, never been there, however there's been some legendary stories about Hanks parties....for sure. He never held back to speak his mind and it got him in trouble a few times, but he never cared.
Speaking of Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis.... Jerry had 2 cousins who played just like him one became a very very famous Tele-evanglist. The other is CONWAY TWITTY he has 2 songs for sure you should hear on is a banger called The Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time! The other is called That's My Job and as a Father and a song writer it will truly touch your heart!! ❤❤❤
Lots of famous actors and country music legends in that video
Thanks for the early look
Now it’s All my Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down…. That’s a good song too.
Agreed with your take on the music and Hank Jr BP! Way to go...great review!
My first concert was the Rowdy Friends Tour in '97 and got to meet Jo Dee Messina and ride Hank's tour bus to and from the show with my uncle Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie) and the 'Bama Band (Hank's road band)
Outlaw country was like southern rock and country had a baby. It could belt out a sad country song. But also rock the shit out the place. We talking Hank JR, Travis Tritt, Sawer brown and many more.
I'm drinking some whiskey and ready for this . Hank is definatelty outlaw countrry
Great Reaction! Listen to more Hank Jr., you will like!
Hank's music is different from traditional stuff. He's always said his stuff is different than his Daddy's, which is why the manufactured duet between them is so fun. 'There's a tear in my beer' by Hank Sr. & Jr. As for this song, it was used for Monday night football for a long time. He just changed the lyrics. He'd yell, 'Are you ready for some football?" 'Are you ready to party?" then he was singing about all his rowdy friends coming over tonight. LOL Tons of old country stars you don't recognize. George Jones was on lawn mower, 'Ernest' from those silly movies was on the cow. The Oakridge boys drove by, leaving the bearded member hitch hiking. After you sew Kris Kristofferson, next is Waylon Jennings, then Willie & misc. other old country celebrities like Little Jimmy Dickens. A tiny cowboy that many country artists use in their videos. The group you were thinking of was 'The Highwaymen' consisting of Kris, Johnny, Willie & Waylon. They toured together as a group & had fun doing stuff together & separately, often doing each other's songs & making the original singer, just play & sing backup. LOL In fact many of their biggest hits are recorded by most if not all of them. I love 'Sunday morning coming down' by both Kris & Johnny. Different vibes, same song. Anyway, their biggest group hit is probably 'The highwayman' Notice the group uses 'men' & the song uses 'man.
Everyone in the video was a celebrity at that time
The high waymen thats the song you want.
It takes all of us to make each other great
Country parties are the BEST!
Hank did the Superbowl promo for Years
Hell yeah Don back in the house, love u 2 together.
For another great fun one review Home Free's BUTT REMIX--it is great!
BP did Butts Remix with his wife and some of her friends. It was great, check it out!
Gretchen Wilson song “Here for the Party”. Has Hank Williams Jr in her video.
It’s a fun one e to hear…
Wasn't he in redneck woman too
If you want to see Hot Air Balloons you should visit Albuquerque, NM the first 2 weeks of October for the Balloon Fiesta. There were more than 1000 Balloons in the sky. There's a box effect over the city it will blow you south and go up and it will take you north ❤❤❤😊😊
