I’m a Texan, you know I love this. Eagles? Country? Maybe what we used to call progressive country in the 70’s. Try some classic. Merle, George (Jones and Strait), Cash, Hank………
Thanks - nice intro, and a good way into adding a leading tone to start to walk it up a bit! Oh, regarding the fifth for the Am on the E string - I personally think it doesn't hurt to use the open E for a 'fifth below' there, as it can give a great depth, especially if throwing in a leading quarter note into the next chord. Just a thought!

Great lesson, thanks, but shouldn't your TAB at 6:40 be 5 on the E and 7 on the A, right? Going upper 5th off the E string...
Yes, from memory I think I played the lower 5th there!
Thanx James, Any bass lines for Neil Young's country/folk styles would be welcome ... can you suggest?
I’m a Texan, you know I love this. Eagles? Country? Maybe what we used to call progressive country in the 70’s. Try some classic. Merle, George (Jones and Strait), Cash, Hank………
Definitely a country course. This was great using 5th's
Glad you like it! Thanks for sharing! Cheers
Thanks for video
More country bass, pleade
Thanks - nice intro, and a good way into adding a leading tone to start to walk it up a bit! Oh, regarding the fifth for the Am on the E string - I personally think it doesn't hurt to use the open E for a 'fifth below' there, as it can give a great depth, especially if throwing in a leading quarter note into the next chord. Just a thought!
Nice thought you got there! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Yes please, plus how do you do a "walk up' to the next root note?
Check my video about walking bass, you'll learn more from that.
More would be great!

More country please :-)
Good stuff
Since I play in a rock cover band, often bands like the Eagles, Marshall Tucker, the Allmans, Atlanta Rhythm Section, etc., are called for...not sure southern rock is in the same genre as country rock, but we get a lot of requests for it...
Thanks for sharing that, Jeff! Cheers!
