    In this video, I play and teach you walking bass lines for a Texas Blues. Learn Boogie walking bass, shuffle groove lines, and other walking techniques to play in the Texas style. Texas Blues was made famous by players such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, and a heavier style walking bass line is needed here.
    The video has four walking bass exercises and a 12-bar Blues backing track for you to jam to.
    This bass video tutorial is suitable for absolute beginner bass players through to intermediate bassists.
    You may want to check out my 'Bass Beginner Series'. The lessons in the series cover lots of topics for beginners, with tips on bass techniques, scales, arpeggios, pentatonic scales, and learning to read music.

      @@GregsBassShedcan’t you play the 1, 8, flat7, 5….for that song? I use that or a 1,5, flat7,5…or 1, 8, flat7, 8…I’m a beginner Bass player switching from guitar and I use that I would guess be called a blues box variety of those different notes a lot. I don’t see any lessons doing that. Why? I am self taught that might explain something…lol.

    • @GregsBassShed
      @GregsBassShed  2 месяца назад +1

      @@2007vwbeetle yes you can play that pattern too. It works well for Blues. But this lesson was inspired by the ‘Pride & Joy’ Tommy Shannon bass line which uses the patterns I showed in this lesson. Remember that you don’t have to use all the patterns in every bass line.

      That’s interesting Frank. You say it’s ‘tired and worn out’ and I say it’s a classic.
      That’s what I love about music - it’s so personal in regards to what each individual likes.
      My advice to you would be that if you’re not feeling it then don’t play it!
