Just fitted my SAS delete kit (from your recommendation of Smartmoto). Airbox plug was super tight as you found and the dongle didn’t click in as nice as it should (bit of shrink tube sorted it) but otherwise was a simple job, about an hour. Now the bike runs quieter, almost cleaner sounding. No noticeable performance gain but seems to run nicer. Engine light went off after 3 restarts so all ok. Thanks again for your video, really helped me with the job.
@@willgarrod9907 could you please give me more details? I didn’t understand how you put in. Like putting a tyres into the rim when the tube has been replaced? Also, when you plugged in the connector did it click? Mine didn’t and I am not sure if it will stay in. Thanks!!
@@MatBmx I kind of levered it in. Was a pain but went in after some failed attempts. With the dongle, it didn’t click in properly so I used some insulation tape and then a sleeve of shrink wrap to hold it together nicely. All in all, the kit could be better but the bike rides so much nicer, (did 100miles today), about 20% quieter, smoother and even seems like it has more bottom end.
Just completed the SAS removal. To save dicking around pulling the airbox I just capped the hose with the ridiculous chrome bung. Nice and easy, I'm going to pull the airbox at a later date so will finish that job then. No check engine light either which is a bonus. Cheers Tweedy
Another good one TM. I did the 90+ degree tank swivel on my 2018 to change the fuel filters and screens at 14k miles and did not have to remove the exhaust. Not that it saves more than a couple of minutes. Thanks for the vid.
Hello. Can you please explain me how you were able to fit that cap? I have tried with mine but the little thingies won’t stay straight when I put pressure.
That plastic not rubber blanking plug from smartmoto is wank.. I had to block the original rubber pipe in the end. The plastic blanking plug did not seal to the airbox 🤷🏻. No heat shrink in the smartmoto kits for the SAS or Evap dongles. Hope I don't have issues this coming winter. Great vid mate, I have got the rottweiler kit if I could get one in Covid Britain 👍
I usually have the large baffle in. No baffle is loud AF and melts my indicator! 😂 I have the fuel dongle installed as it part of the power commander kit and its been custom tuned. 👍
I cannot confirm it as I don't have the bike anymore but a quick look suggests it's 25k. Have a good look on the 701 super thread on advrider. There is a vast sea of info on there. 👍
pardon my ignorance but why remove the sas? i just installed a rottweiler performance intake system and that hose leading to the sas is now floating - bike runs fine though.
@@Twedymoto I decided to buy the whole kit from SmartMoto because of you. It's now mounted but winter strikes Sweden so test driving have to wait. At the same time a changed to a 15T but kept the stock rear. I've done 5.000 km this summer together with a work mate with a 701 -17, mine is a -19 but no difference. Keep it up.👍
Also for future reference, it's easy to foul the front rubber "mounts" either side, on the tabs. Make sure they're sitting inside the tabs or the box will never go down enough to pop back on the throttle body. Ask me how I know...

Hello! Can I ask if you were able to fit the cap? Mine is shitty and hard to fit in.
@@MatBmx yes, it was a right faff. I had to lever it in with electronics screwdrivers like fitting a tyre but got there in the end

Thanks for taking the time to make these, learning so much about my bike 👍
Glad you like them! I love making them and screwing up. lol

Yeah, removing the airbox on this is a real pain in the chull!

Do you use the db killer on the wings? Did you remap the bike? Do you have the fuel dongle?

Hi,
Could you tell me please what header pipe are you running?
Thanks
It was the tekmo header pipe with a wings can 👍
can you confirm the resistor is 20k ohms ? cheers..

Some do it after fitting a a different intake and others do it to reduce clutter and unnecessary items on the bike. 👍
Just got mines done thanks for sharing
No problem 👍
Any upgrades lately and which sprockets do you use? Stock is 16/42.
Not really mate. Only been out 3 times on it this year! 😭
I run 15 /44. Still decent top speed and acelerates pretty good!

Big difference going to a 15?
Good difference yeah. Accelerates a little harder, power wheelies a little easier too and you don't lose too much top speed.
@@Twedymoto nice one can you run standard chain and just tighten the adjusters a little?
Please tell me why SAS is being removed? What are the advantages without SAS?
Just a little bit of weight saving and also reduces backfires as it stops fresh air getting into the exhaust.
10:07 It's a 5sec job you should push it from the inside with a screwdriver XD
Yeah I figured that out after butchering it!! 😂😂
Good video….. but how the flying FUCCCC** do you get the air box back on. Ive been trying for 2 bloody days now!!
I feel your pain dude. Make sure the clamp is really loose then just keep pushing and wiggling and it will seat.

I did what you said, it eventually went on.
Many thanks 👍
Glad I could help mate 👍

9:10 You should remove the canister as well
Yeah it's on my list 👍
