    Nice to see some Pennsy action! Seeing an HO scale T1 was a treat, and on the topic of the T1, I can't wait for 5550's completion and operation in the coming years!

    As an aussie once put it... Professionals have *_standards._*
    And oh to see a Pennsy H3 in H0 someday, with _that one specific_ banshee whistle.

    The consensus on QSI decoders is replace them. But they are not all bad. Some still run.

    A shame we can't do a video about the New York Central to complement this. If only there were some way to get me down to Virginia.

      Wouldn't be opposed if I could gather enough equipment into one place for a day.

      I am currently running on an older Sony Handicam. Has served me very well for more than 10 years now. Sooner or later I will upgrade but she still does the job nicely.

    Nice layout your locomotives are they Broadway limited

    • @jimmylambert8709
      @jimmylambert8709  7 дней назад +1

      The steam locomotives here are all Broadway Limited Imports (Paragon 2, 3, and 4) except for the last doubleheaded pair of K4s which are Bachmann engines.

  • @Yellowstone216
    @Yellowstone216 6 дней назад +1

    What company made the K4 model? I think I should get one for my HO scale layout I’m planning on building

  • @pennsy6755
    @pennsy6755 7 дней назад

    One thing I can testify is that it’s a nightmare finding good pre-war passenger equipment or HO M1a/bs
    I’ve probably gone through two brass m1bs (one kept having motor issues and the other had terrible weights), three qsi m1a (one currently disassembled for a conversion project I’m working on that when finished will be decked out in futura lettering), and a Paragon 3 m1b

    • @jimmylambert8709
      @jimmylambert8709  7 дней назад

      The M1s are... interesting... I believe they were the second product brought out under the Broadway Limited Imports name (first was a NYC Hudson of all things) so they bore the brunt of the brand's teething troubles. The Paragon 1 M1s are notorious for splitting gears and blowing those fickle QSI decoders. My Paragon 2 M1b has been a good engine to me, except for the one time it refused to climb a hill with a NYC boxcar in the consist... Took the Central box off the train and up the hill it went.

      @pennsy6755 7 дней назад

      @@jimmylambert8709 I cannot for the life of me reprogram my M1b.
      I’m planning to have the futura kitbash to include TCS But figuring out how to wire the damn thing has it sidelines

      This was filmed on the layout of the Northern Virginia Model Railroaders in Vienna, Virginia. It's not too far from Washington DC.

  • @thomaspalladino831

    What manufacturers of the steam engines. I have many PRR steam by Penn line and bowser

    • @jimmylambert8709
      @jimmylambert8709  7 дней назад

      Most of the engines are Broadway Limited Imports Paragon 2, with a few Paragon 3 and 4 mixed in. The last 2 K4s are Bachmann engines.
