Walking from the Hollywood Sign to Griffith Observatory

- I complete a full hike from the back of the Hollywood Sign to Griffith Observatory. The entire trip is about 4 miles long. It was a straightforward hike, with only one water fountain along the way and no restrooms. Along the way, you get stunning views of Los Angeles.

Walking Hollywood to Griffith park? That’s a loooong walk in the heat.
Yes! It was hotter than I expected.
ActionKid is really having a field day with LA. He really should move to LA for sure. It's like kid in the candy store for him!
If he does that, he should have his driving test done in NY already and change to CA DL if he plans to stay long.
In the LA Metro area, he should rent a car to driving around because there are some places where public transportation has to pay.
There is just so much to do here in the LA area!

AKs endurance is tremendous . I saw the vid of him hiking up to the Hollywood sign . He takes a brief rest in this vid and continues on to Griffith Observatory. But then as I saw on a previous vid , he can walk the entire length of Manhattan with only a brief stop for a cookie and water . no bathroom break .
It takes a lot to do these hikes, especially in the heat. I should have drank more water!
The bees are thirsty, too.
Out of all your videos in L.A., these two hikes i enjoyed the most. I can only imagine the effort you had to make, but they were very serene to my eyes. Made my mind to quiet for a couple of hours.
Around 12 minutes, I get a huge E.T. vibe, where E.T. watches the city from the forest right after he missed his motherships departure. And the whole road gives me the Close Encounter of the Third Kind, the scene where they chase a spaceships and the policeman says, there glued to the roooaaad, and then they fly of the road and so does he in his policecar.
That is my bucket list next year Hollywood hike.
1:30:17 - In the late 70's I went to the Observatory to hear Dark Side Of The Moon played while images of Space were portrayed on a screen. It was a rite of passage in Southern California !
That walk was a piece of cake. I am not even tired.

On viewing this for a second time even more impressive . In the NYC walks AK can occasionaly stop and rest during waiting for the trafic lights to change , hear mostly non stop walking a narrow dirt road between a cliff and and drop off going hundreds of feet down . All in the LA city limits .

That was a decent walk A.K., definitely a lot further than I would have imagined it to be. I love watching your clips, they're so relaxing, and you are a bottomless wealth of knowledge about the districts that you visit. More, more, more, please. Watching your clips has become a daily part of my routine. I don't watch terrestrial T.V. anymore, I only watch RUclips, or some of the 1000's of blurays/Dvd's that I own. What a feat Ak. I lived in Los Feliz 4 8 years and just went up to the Observatory. Btw Malibu, Cahunga are terms used by the original people who lived in this area. These were the Gabrielinos. I have been seeing your walking tours and I am totally impressed.

Its full of people now! last year when everything was on lock-down it was better! Now everywhere you go there is like 20+ people every 10 feet. Ugh! at least I enjoyed it while it lasted!

If you like hiking with cliff side views of the ocean palos verdes is a hidden gem. I recommend visiting Terranea resorts there. Also Crystal Cove Beach state park in Orange County.

I dont understand why some belittle Griffith park saying it will never measure up to new york's central park. To me Griffith Park is a million times better than Central Park, can you hiking in Central Park ? NO. Can you go anywhere in central.park and forget you're in the middle of a busy city? NO . Specially in the part we're you so see people horseback riding and you can't help but imagine that's how California looked like back in the 1800's when settlers came here looking for gold. It's things like that that make Griffith. Park so fascinating

Be proud, AK. Sorry, but I'm driving. Lol. You now know how places are spread apart in LA. I think only some from the east coast can walk far distances in the west. In Los Angeles, CA - "Drive" (or hitch a ride or Uber).

Hope you can make it to nearby Santa Barbara one Sunday for the art show and wonderful venues along the beach, pier and State Street… it’s a lot closer than San Diego and more compact and charming
Yep, SB probably has the best urban design of a socal city imo (not too dense but not too spread out, can bike around a lot of the city), much cleaner and nicer looking than LA, and mixed with a very scenic natural landscape but it's unfortunately pretty small and essentially fixed size at this point so it's hard to justify trying to move there if you're single, excluding those there for UCSB. Also not really affordable for many either.
