Walking to the Hollywood Sign from Beachwood Canyon

- I complete a full hike to the back of the Hollywood Sign via Hollywoodland. I took the DASH Beachwood Canyon bus to the last stop, right before Hollywoodland. The bus leaves from the corner of Hollywood Boulevard & Vine Street. The walk through Hollywoodland included sights of some beautiful homes, an interesting staircase, and an area called the Garden of Oz. When I got to the trailhead, I had unobstructed views of the Hollywood Sign. From there, it was a short hike up to the back of the sign.

There are no words to describe that hike Ken, that was above and beyond the call to provide a video. I'm 78 yrs old, and I would not have survived the first 100 yards of that hike. but was able to take it step by step with you and through your eyes, mind, thoughts and camera. you have no idea how much pleasure you give to someone like me. Fantastic, you are in excellent shape, that is a hard hike. I’m 69 and live in Burbank in San Fernando Valley on the back side of the Hollywood sign, you got a few shots of SFV on your way up. I have never hiked to Hollywood sign now I don’t have to. I watched every minute of your hike. You are the first to record a hike from Franklin where got off the bus to the top in it’s entirety. Job well done. You have nerves of steel. 👍

Amazing hike! Its so scenic and beautiful. 5:18 That staircase was amazing and it did look European and to me a bit South American too.
I really really feel you on those steep inclines, it gets pretty steep and hilly like that where I am in other areas of Henry and Clayton County, GA too.
Oh my gosh, you only had one (1) water 🍶 bottle. Oh my, I at least carry 2 handy in my small cooler.

I've been living in L.A. since 1988, graduated from Hollywood HS and saw the Hollywood sign almost every day of my life yet I never felt compelled to hike to it. Watching your video made me feel as if I did the hike with you minus the pain and heat. Thanks for all you do, keep up the good work!

Hey Kenneth, loved the hike although if you have access to a car it is a lot easier and quicker to hike from Hollywood Lake Park which we did about 3 years ago. You also have a lot more great different angles of views of the sign. We were also really lucky there were council workers cutting the grass beside the sign so we were able to go through the fence directly behind the sign to get really close to it and take some awesome photos. Enjoy the rest of the trip to LA.
