I got depressed 2023 that my Friends online stopped playing with me in a video Game so I decided to focus my energy with my Family and Make music with ableton. 11 Months now and i got signed my very First EP a Label. Everything you said is true!

I'm 37 with a 50 thousand dollar home production/recording setup at home and have been producing since I was in high school. This was very inspiring and true. I just got out the Army and have found which avenue I'm taking my music to, as I now have the time, dream setup with all kinds of Moogs, Yamaha, Rolands, Elektrons, vintage mic clones, etc-etc... I've been hoping to gain focus and this video is definitely saved to my favorites to adhere to and come back to. Hell, I've even been wanting to document my new journey on RUclips. Just need a good enough camera to do so. Thanks.
Start now. No need for a fancy camera (honestly wish I didn't have to worry about mine because it's so much work to set up, record, transfer files, etc. every single time. Just more distractions lol). Like the guy above me said you have an interesting story and I know people would really enjoy your content. Best of luck to you!

I'm not even good at any of the stuff I do because I can't focus on learning one thing instead I work on each of things at random and not even everyday. It really does make it harder. I'm sure if I focused for one month on just one of those things I would get a lot more done but I can't because of motivation issues.

Good advice about socials. I was losing my mind how the hell am I supposed to post it on TikTok, IG, SoundCloud, and RUclips? As you said, you should focus on one goal. No distractions, just create your music and upload it on any platform of your choice.

This actually helps a lot, been struggling to make music for almost a year until I posted a song, repeat until you ended up frustrated. It's really easy to get distracted from how other artists do it that you try to implement those methods in your own workstyle. Doesn't really help you at all as you're literally trying to learn things all at once while also juggling real life stuff. Might need to tone down my goals and slowly make my way up.
30 years old giving it another try for the 3rd time. Pirated FL back in my freshman year of college I think and started off making electro house and Big Room then stopped for a while then covid happened and I picked it up again. After it was over I sort of didn’t feel inspired to make music. The past year I took up djing from a friend whose been doing it for 20 years. One day I realized I’ve mixed so many songs maybe I can give producing another try, went to the store bought a MacBook Pro M3 and redownloaded FL Studio from imagine line and serum. Signed up for sonic academy and started taking some courses. Goal right now is to finally try to release something. Wouldn’t mind starting off with an indie label and work my way up. Been making tech house, minimal and techno having the time of my life.
Great video. Most people ignore the fact that I spent 10 years developing my producer skills before ever getting on RUclips. One of the hardest lessons I’ve ever learned is “you can do anything you want, but you can only choose one”.
Just do what you enjoy, feel free to do anything you like and have fun. Share it in some way and you’ll get the same thing while enjoying the process and being happy. (And keeping your passion, instead of making music your punishment everyday). There’s a way to force your way to success, or just be authentic and have fun. Even if you achieve something different than you imagined, it will be the best for you.
I noticed once I’ve started focusing on RUclips everything started to take off. I’m not stressed out as much because I’m understanding how the process works in order to achieve the goal. Much love ❤.

100 percent true, everyone tryna fool us telling that we need to do lots of social media stuff, but nobody telling that they do that after achieving some goals. I saw some spotify artists profiles and their bios said that they r not active or post in social medias and they still getting numbers because they can focus on music and release through labels that giving good promotion. Prioritize your goals and stay focused on most important things, dont let anyone fool you with spraying your energy on 150 sides of music career. I know there is a lot of artists who post a lot and releasing s lot but believe me these fellas doing this kinda automatically like a habbit they r not thinking too much about it
Incredible video. I’ve been seeing this frame of thinking a lot lately and I really really need to focus. Working 14 hour days right now to get out of some credit card debt leaving me with 0 time to produce and it’s killing me. My plan is to pay off as much as I can while I’m making good money then completely switch jobs to a simple punch in punch out 8 hour job so I can go all in. Much love brother ❤
Man this was great and illustrated it perfectly. I said forget trying to make whole songs for right now. Just loops and recording vocals. Then once I have enough I’ll go back and start cleaning everything up. It’s amazing what you can get done when you look at the big picture but focus on what you can do today.
Well said brother. Thank you for this. Bring multi talented seems like a hinder more than an advantage at times and my perfectionism SCREAMS to express in all my forms. This put life into a more realistic perspective, thank you friend.
Magnifico! This was absolutely beautiful! No bs, just straight to the point. Thank you, your video got recommended at the right time in my life. I will update you on my journey if I ever go big :)
That energy scenario was OP man ! Great job!!! 😊. I’ve cut out even going outside on the weekends to just purely focus on producing (trance genre) …. The hours put in the faster your skills grow! 🎉
I have school (failing a lot). Music career, I send music to distributers by myself, I gotta use all social medias to promote but sometimes I'm lazy to post everywhere. It's really tiring, I've even taken a break on new songs, I'm stressed out & just also coz I make good songs I work hard to perfect them but still, I'm underrated 💔.
6:05 this so true my bro, I watched hamza too and when he talked about business he said focus on 1 big goal then when you succeed and balance it you can expend. Thank you for great tutorial bro, rly helps!
Took my too many years producing to figure out I was being like Greg. This guys already years ahead. Listen to u truly committed to wringing money out of music
Man where was this advice 4-8 years ago? I was trying to produce my own beats and rap/singjay all at once and eventually gave it up because I had too many things going on that needed my attention. I can still produce but the dream of rapping, singing and deejaying/toasting is a young man’s goal. Great video!
one thing I sacrificed to get good at making music is video games. Most my time goes into music after the 9-5 grind, but I also need to work on some internet presence and networking more to get some placements. Right now the focus is just being able to create awesome music that artists will want, then I think I'm going to move into the networking build brand phase. It's a lot more work then I expected, its like a full force transformation, to do this music production career.
I’m 26, just last year I discovered and started to unlock my potential in music production. Was able to put things together a little bit, I setup a small place in my room for production. I currently teach music in a school and I play and get paid in the church. But I just still feel like I wanna quit this Jobs and focus on my production.. but I really don’t know how to go about it yet. Cause I realize there’s more to producing Music.. and needs so much dedication to really speed up things
This is true I’ve been recording and producing music for a decade now it’s only been the past year or so I’ve been confident in what I’m doing. In my experience the best thing to do is to work really hard mastering your skills for 2-3 year and then put it all to practice as much as you can. Work with musicians and get feedback from others. The BIG game changer too is to use reference tracks listen to the volume, width, tone everything and if the song is similar to the one you’re working on then copy it. Try to get your mix to sound as close as possible and then you will start to learn how to mix and master properly. From a creative point of view just try stuff, reverse guitar parts, automate a massive reverb on a vocal for one powerful word. Work hard and experiment, don’t think too much about it and if it sounds good it sounds good. Sending love from Glasgow ❤
Great video, especially since you used the Lower Brinstar track from Samus & Chill 👍 funny enough, that track in Super Metroid is what got me into instrumental electronic music in '94 (yeah, I'm old but still making music)
This is legit advice, thanks. I ran into this trap and was just starting to work my way out of it, so this advice kinda validates that I am getting back on track
Thank you for this video. It’s one of those things you conceptually know but forget quickly with the smallest distraction. I just got back to making music and needed to hear this.
Thanks bro. I been trying other ideas like you said. Spending all my energy… hit a plateau… if you can call it that lol.. gonna set one big goal. Thanks for the breathe of fresh air
I lose so much focus because I try to do everything by myself I’ve asked for help but my friends won’t help they just watch my stories and continue on with life. Definitely a confidence killer.
Bro, i appreciate you and this video so much. I honestly feel just like you did/do and im just trying to convert myself into the artist i know i can be. Thanks for this vid... always keep striving. I also want to retire my parents one day... we can do it💖
Sometimes, it's like chopping wood. The reward is fire. I appreciate your inspiration ❤ I'll make the music first, then worry about what to do with it when I'm dead
I am 19 and I am making music from the last 3-4 years. Honestly, after coming to Australia this year, I completely lost myself as a music producer and as a writer. I Started chasing the ppl that what does ppl like to listen but in all that i completely forgot who I am. This adult life sucks but…. It is what it is. Thanks for this video mate❤ helped me alot.
"Jack of all trades, master of none" - as cliche as it sounds - is a cold hard slap on the face. You (generally for those who're reading this) might not feel it now, but at a certain age in the game, you'll start to realize the importance of narrowing down your focus and energy to a solid direction. You won't be as 'energetic' as how you were a decade ago where you could stay up all night, doing multiple things at a go, as well as the mental capacity to churn out things as smooth as it used to. Being in the creative industry, you are not doing things out of routine, every day will be a different canvas for you. You don't wanna run out before you're done.
Thanks for the great message! It clarifies things! If I may, I would love to share what I've been doing to achieve these things personally. On my channel I post song a day for a year (near 180 songs now). A personal challenge to dive into the music. It makes me FOCUS on music daily, it forces me to love the SIMPLICITY, and I have to SACRIFICE my time from other activities daily. I would say the production of music has been different and way more productive. Maybe these 3 things on promotion next😎
tbh i feel like me focusing so much on music has just led me to grow super distant from all my friends. i almost don't play any video games at all anymore, i very rarely talk to anyone, i have no producer friends to talk to, and nobody is interested when i talk about music. for me i feel like it would be beneficial to have friends to grow and share with, even if it's just a hobby for me xD i'm 18 and getting out of high school, so i kind of have to start putting more energy into future prospects like going back to the workforce, and going to college. i don't want to give up making music cause i find it very fun, but it's kind of inevitable i will have to give up some energy to pursue a degree. the scariest part about going into adulthood for me is honestly just the loss of time. i already have minimal time when it comes to school, but i will have likely even less when i'm working/in college. but i guess i just gotta do one thing at a time, and not stress too hard about the future
This is the best video on this topic so far I really appreciate your work. I had the same problem as you I kept changing names all the time building new channels and personas, and I never felt fulfilled. I felt like I was on the same level all the time. Not a year has passed and I’m trying to finally stick to one nickname and one thing I abandoned all the other stuff that distracted me like video editing, filmmaking ,voice acting. I can finally focus on music only and I’m the type of guy that tries to get on every platform. I’m trying to minimize it right now. If you’re reading this and you’re in a similar situation than listen and focus on one thing it’s better to become a master of one craft than an average worker of multiple.❤
Very straightforward. SACRIFICE. How could it be any other way? Time is the ultimate resource, yet many of us are wasting it by pulling ourselves on too many directions. How could it be any other way? It's a bloated and unrealistic use of our daily hours. Some things have to go. In other words, you can't have everything, so why not put your everything into that one important thing you want? Yet don't go too far on the road of sacrifice. Health and basic needs of life must remain in absolute security. For now I have no qualms or regrets holding an office job, doing some coding and gaming in addition to music. I love music with all of my soul but I'm okay with that, because it's a hobby. A damn good one. But I like other things too, and I'm not ready to make it a career. I just like making music I like. And slowly getting better at it. Who cares if it's not commercially viable or popular? And, I fear that the need to make money would shift my creative process into something more formulaic and being nudged into changing myself because of listeners' expectations. It's a passive, gradual and seemingly non-harmful thing, but it goes against my will. I'm of the belief that as soon as any other influence drives the process, it's not genuine artistic creation anymore. That may be narrowminded but I'd rather stay free from any undue influence.

This is the best video for producers I ever saw and I've seen aaa looot🔥❤️
Thx for sharing this 🙏🏼
6:05 this so true my bro, I watched hamza too and when he talked about business he said focus on 1 big goal then when you succeed and balance it you can expend. Thank you for great tutorial bro, rly helps!
Took my too many years producing to figure out I was being like Greg. This guys already years ahead. Listen to u truly committed to wringing money out of music
And that minecraft music in back ground haha. Thx mate it was what i needed right now.
Man where was this advice 4-8 years ago? I was trying to produce my own beats and rap/singjay all at once and eventually gave it up because I had too many things going on that needed my attention. I can still produce but the dream of rapping, singing and deejaying/toasting is a young man’s goal. Great video!
Thank you bro for real! Hope you can success and achieve your dreams! Everyone spread love to this guy ❤️.
one thing I sacrificed to get good at making music is video games. Most my time goes into music after the 9-5 grind, but I also need to work on some internet presence and networking more to get some placements. Right now the focus is just being able to create awesome music that artists will want, then I think I'm going to move into the networking build brand phase. It's a lot more work then I expected, its like a full force transformation, to do this music production career.
bro i want to say thank you so much from bottom of my heart ❣❣
I’m 26, just last year I discovered and started to unlock my potential in music production. Was able to put things together a little bit, I setup a small place in my room for production. I currently teach music in a school and I play and get paid in the church. But I just still feel like I wanna quit this Jobs and focus on my production.. but I really don’t know how to go about it yet. Cause I realize there’s more to producing Music.. and needs so much dedication to really speed up things
Damn bro! You really motivated me to work harder! U earned another sub dude!
You've got the right stuff, my friend. You've earned a sub. Thanks for being one of the good ones!
Great video, especially since you used the Lower Brinstar track from Samus & Chill 👍 funny enough, that track in Super Metroid is what got me into instrumental electronic music in '94 (yeah, I'm old but still making music)
Hey this is soo useful! Really really appreciate this video . I was the first producer before I watched this video
Thanks man !
Enjoyed this video very much bro, watched all the way.
Bro, i appreciate you and this video so much. I honestly feel just like you did/do and im just trying to convert myself into the artist i know i can be. Thanks for this vid... always keep striving. I also want to retire my parents one day... we can do it💖
I toll agree with you bro. This video reflects my recent switch - thx man.
Sometimes, it's like chopping wood. The reward is fire. I appreciate your inspiration ❤
I'll make the music first, then worry about what to do with it when I'm dead
This videos was literally exactly what I needed
This is a very informative video. Thank you for this
This is what i needed in my journey thank you.
Thanks for this video mate❤ helped me alot.
bro got that RPG meta
I needed to hear that. Thank you.
too many hats. yeah man. Ive been told that many times through the years but this made it make most sense.
Bro, you are top! Thanks for this. What a noble goal to retire your parents! Love that. All the best.
This was beautiful advice man
It's nice to be taught by people younger than yourself Keep up the good work, lad!
Bro thanks for the refocus I had some much going on in life nou I'm deciding on my music projects
The things we need to make it on music career
focus, simplicity, sacrifice, Tiktok, Instagram and making music
Thanks. At first I didn’t understand, but after I listened to you for few minutes, it all made sense. So thanks again and have a great day.
Great video! I really gained value and confirmation from this! Thanks bro!
Thankyou Akayo , strongest advice ever
God bless you bro🙏🏾 I really needed this video 💙
_Thanks Bro,_ I think this video going to useful for me
Thanks for the great message! Maybe these 3 things on promotion next😎
tbh i feel like me focusing so much on music has just led me to grow super distant from all my friends. i almost don't play any video games at all anymore, i very rarely talk to anyone, i have no producer friends to talk to, and nobody is interested when i talk about music. for me i feel like it would be beneficial to have friends to grow and share with, even if it's just a hobby for me xD
i'm 18 and getting out of high school, so i kind of have to start putting more energy into future prospects like going back to the workforce, and going to college. i don't want to give up making music cause i find it very fun, but it's kind of inevitable i will have to give up some energy to pursue a degree. the scariest part about going into adulthood for me is honestly just the loss of time. i already have minimal time when it comes to school, but i will have likely even less when i'm working/in college. but i guess i just gotta do one thing at a time, and not stress too hard about the future
Needed to hear this before my studio session today, thank you bro
Can I send you some samples? Tell me what you want and I can wip some up.
Well done homie! Only respect! So true with everything you say. Re-Centred me a lot! SUBSCRIBED !
absolutely fantastic.
I subscribed before you even asked! Great content. Thanks man! ❤
Great video brother and I love your personal and relatable approach.
That may be narrowminded but I'd rather stay free from any undue influence.
really. good. video. even though I'm kind of already doing these things, it's nice to know I'm not the only one that knows the way.
Looking at the energy diagram. The one on the right looks like a working clock and the one on the left looks like an overworked clock
Very nice video. Professional AF.
Man you deserve more subscribers! Your videos are so well made.
thank you so much bro, your words definitely changed something🫶
Damn, that was insightful. Thank you 🙏🏽
huge advice bro and absolute good vibes🖤🔥theres a book called "essentialism" and it goes deep into the concept of saying no to all the noise that doesn't bring you the "most contribution in your life" much like what you're saying here. very similar energy diagram is literally in the book, just to prove even more the truth behind it's success. blessed to get you in my alg this am
Most reasonable thing I’ve heard as a producer…keep going bro
Honestly I am Greg 🤣🤣🤣 not because I wanna be Greg but situation put us there. I am a one man army. Gotta feed the family and also work on my career. Thanks for this message. Males a lot of sense bro. Bless
Me too
The first energy orb was literally me, thank you for the advice bro😅
Woah ❤ thank you. I got nothing say. Thank you so so much. I wish you all the best. Good luck bro❤
