Mixing vocals with just a mic and a audio box I have it in my head that an audio box and mic can’t make a good song because I seen so many real compressor and pre amp videos
@@slaureado-c6 True but thats not going to make You money or help others. I like listening to My own music to everyday thinking about how I can improve even after 20 years, but Im not happy that My brands a failure, it gives Me a very depressed feeling and I have quite producing before for years.
With that drawing He not only changed the scene but also makes his advice more personal by doing this, the guys a pro RUclipsr, and good video topic, I believe alot of us feel like He describes but I have actually heard some successful pros say the same things, they worry about how they will make there next hit and worry about failure.
I think the main reason you feel your music sounds bad usually starts when you compare it to other artists. Instead, you should focus on yourself and try to improve your music production skills and then compare your current music with your previous music to see how much you have improved. Feeling depressed?? just listen your 3 years old song instant motivation😂
in the end its totally okay if you feel your music is bad just know your worth, just compare yourself to the old you, its always a good way to risen your motivation, nice video btw
I never had people tell me my music sucked, but tbh I wish they did because I’m a terrible judge of my own work. I’ll make some trash and think “wow this is revolutionary, it’s so different!”
haven’t watched yet, i tend to read descriptions first and loved to see “life is like a sine wave” one of my favorite bits as well, thought it was original 😂😂
Man I truly love you. I feel like you‘re one of few who actually really cares about the journey of musicians and give great advice on how to tackle the respective challenges. Your videos give me lots of inspiration, so thank you! Keep it up
What helped me out when making good music is realizing that I needed to stop overthinking-it’s just a song. There are lots of beats out there for you to use to sound good and improve. Just have fun with your music or your sound, no matter what people say. Seek feedback if you want to get better, but always stay true to yourself!!! 💯 Lastly, enjoy the process!!!!
This is so insanely accurate, ive been making beats for few years, yet ive still not made a single track that would blow my mind in a same way that the songs and instrumentals that made me want to start producing did. Feels like its an endless chase, that doesnt even necessarily have anything to do with your knowledge or getting ”technically” better. Still love it tho
I learned about limiting beliefs in sales, understanding them truely can make anything possible. Also I have found that actively avoiding approval or validation from others helps with strengthening your own opinion. Someone who externalised this mindset very publicly is Kanye
For some peoples like myself it’s not feeling about your music sucks as u say kayo sometimes it’s our subconscious mind that put us those self limit belief because u think that you music has to be perfect to please everyone with it even if you think that your music is good for your audience and whatever it doesn’t matter how many peoples tell you that your beats are hard you will always feel that you aren’t enough
great tips bro, really helped me see what my reality currently is. im really greatful for this really simple and to-the-point explanation. thanks again for making music production videos that are really different from the others!!
I feel you. Thanks for sharing. Right on point ❤❤❤ Let me just share my summary of what I got from this powerful video: It is not about the music being produced but more about WHO is producing the music. Take care of YOU and it spills to everything YOU do, including, Music Production 🙏🙏🙏
I can get dreamy, this helps me. Since I started producing 12 years ago, I told myself I can make better music than “insert artist here” I’m talking massive names like Odesza and Griz. I think this could happen for sure, but it’s not a good focal point. Having a learners mindset is key, and knowing when our quality has reached the same quality as the pros
literally cant get passed the anxiety of putting my music out there. never finish tracks because whats the point. i always feel like i can do better, and every couple months i realise how much better i actually am. im making tracks better than most hobbiest musicians, but i cant make myself finish anything because then ill have to do something with it.
Watched this video while FL Studio was loading my project for 7 minutes) This video is really helpful. I would also say that a normal self-esteem also helps in this regard
I have a schedule that helps me. Even on days where I'm low and down and don't want to make songs I go into the studio and push. Great psychology lesson on not giving up! And Ive had friends tell me my music sucked. They aren't my friends, they were haters and jokes on them because my music has done very well. Also it's my passion. I make good music. It's free to listen too on RUclips. 🙂 I'm loving your channel bro! Sgt Boudreau
For me, everything about music production comes to these simple things : 1st question to my self : do I have the minimum for music production? Does my ear understand notes at a basic level, or do I have a basic rhythm? Do I know a little bit of theory ? Then start. 2nd question: am I going to devote REALLY about 600-700 hours of song writing, to learn my DAW, start making chord progressions, start understanding and using the plugins, start understanding a little bit of mixing by trial and error ? 3rd question: am I going to accept that my music will SUCK unless I reach the 900-1100 hours threshold of ACTUAL SONG PRODUCTION (25 SONGS that they will probably suck) , and AfTer that my music will begin to be a little bit acceptable ( still not pro) ? So everything comes to : I need to devote at least 1200-1500 hours so my music starts becoming pro level. And these hours should be devoted to ACTUAL song writing by trying techniques and applying the theory
How do you push through? Don’t fall into writers block, if an idea isn’t working - scrap it and move tf on asap, save everything though. Writers block isn’t real, it’s not, it’s a limiting belief. Depression, mental health, tiredness, are all very real though, these are impairments. Minimize those to the best of your availability. Anyways read the creative act by Rick Rubin or listen to the audio book - incredible book that puts to rest so much bs and helps you get back to what’s actually important.
But at which point can I think like that? I am doing it for a year now. So so often I just wanna sell my libraries, deinstall FL and quit it. Because I dont see the "wow" improvements. Also I have only fun doing it, when the basic loop is done. Before that, I am struggeling and sometimes I hate it. I know it will never be my main job, as I am working 9-5 and don't have the musical talent, but I just want to reach a "good" level for a hobby beat maker. 😶🌫️
To Me you are a kid, Im pretty sure your not past age 25, I didn't start production until I was 21, yes I messed with Dance or Hiphop EJay, as a child but I was more interested in Lego. But I still agree with what you say here, My musics been hit and mis over the years but I only show people the good stuff so I get better responces.
Are you the same guy who used to make Free beats and posted them to RUclips? I wanted to use one of your beats but it was taken off Beats stars and I'm trying to see if it's still possible to use
I'm trap on this loop long times and I don't know what should I do to escape from this loop When I watch your this video I can escape from this loop right now I'm deleting my all projects and starting a new project and finish the project to the end Thank you Akayo! :)

Same. When others say that my music is not that good, I don't care. All I did was all for me. This mindset helped me a lot

The best motivation in music producion for me is comparing your first ever track you made and your newest.
Big changes right?
I looked back on my old beats and songs from like years ago even months ago and I made a shit ton of progress.
