    Hopefully they announce a peanuts dark ride. A peanuts dark ride for all ages similar to one of Disneys fantasy land rides. How cool would a ride system like Peter Pan be but set in the peanuts universe?

      Unfortunately, Cedar Fair hates dark rides. They've owned Knott's since 1997 and have never built a single dark ride.

    Can’t forget about Mystery lodge, they never announced it’s permanent closure, it looked like they were doing maintenance then it never reopened. The weird thing is that everything is still in there. They had a show in there for scary farm like a year or two ago and the mystery lodge set and preshow area is all perfectly intact. Whatever the reason is for not opening I’ll like to know at the least. I miss mystery lodge
    I hate how knotts seems to have issues with manufacturers.

    I agree, I really want more transparency from Knott's. I've been giving them the benefit of the doubt for a while on these limbo projects, but my patience has run out. Give us something! If you can't even open either one of the rides, at least tell us what's going on!

      I think the problem is that they don’t even seem to know themselves. I’m sure they didn’t expect the problems they’ve had with either and so it can be hard to communicate what’s happening when it’s been random issues

    Latest things I've heard about these...
    -Xcelerator is not dead, but most likely won't be reopening until next year. Some parts broke during testing that need to be custom fabricated, so it's going to be a waiting game as to how long that takes. If the parts can be delivered quickly, an opening for the holiday period is not impossible, but I've heard spring 2024 is more likely. Don't expect the park to say anything about this until just before it reopens as they want to avoid another round of negative publicity should another delay happen. The ride will also most likely receive a LSM conversion in the next five years should Top Thrill 2 prove successful, and it is possible to do so without a swing launch.
    -Montezooma is most likely dead. There have been tons and tons of behind the scenes issues over the past six to nine months that have led to legal action, which will need to be resolved before there's any further work on the project. Given how much has already been spent on the project and how much more would likely be needed, a replacement is starting to look more viable than hiring someone else to do a refurbishment as it would be more marketable. Supposedly they're in the process of soliciting bids for a 2025 coaster that would be a spiritual successor, which makes me think some sort of linear footprint swing launch coaster.
    -The 2024 Camp Snoopy coaster is supposedly a small Zamperla junior coaster, as they only have about 8,000 sq. ft. to work with (for reference, Snoopy's Soap Box Racers has roughly a 22,000 sq. ft. footprint). My guess would be the Lift & Launch model used for Daddy Pig's as it's a pretty close footprint match, but I could also see them just going for the standard model (especially if there's a flat or two involved as well). This announcement is expected to happen in early November shortly after Scary Farm concludes (and hopefully said announcement will also address Montezooma).
    I'm with you on the transparency. Knott's has been very, very disappointing when it comes to communication lately, but beyond that the experience at the park has just been pretty lackluster lately. Despite being my local park, I let my pass lapse when it expired in 2022 and just got a new one last month as I'm planning to visit several other Cedar Fair properties in 2024, but after one regular visit I really don't feel any desire to go back (fortunately my Scary Farm visit was excellent). If they can't get back on track soon (aka by next summer), Knott's may become a Haunt only park for me going forward.

    • @rexrabbiteer
      @rexrabbiteer 11 месяцев назад +1

      Don’t forget mystery lodge. They never formally announce announce permanent closure for it. Nothing inside the auditorium has been removed, it’s just sitting there stuck in the twilight zone limbo alongside Xcelerator, revolution, montezuma.

    • @ajhummel9187
      @ajhummel9187 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@rexrabbiteer Mystery Lodge is basically on indefinite hiatus. The mechanics of the show need an upgrade, but because everything is custom it's not a cheap project, and with the low viewership of the show it's not seen as a budget priority. If/when there is a budget surplus there is a desire to bring the show back to life, but until that happens it's just going to continue to sit there.

      Is there a small chance that we could see Xcelerator return in mid November or early December? I mean, I'm doubtful but it would be so cool if it did. They would have to be getting those parts over the next week or so though if that were to happen.
      Also I really, really hope one day Knott's and Cedar Fair work with Intamin again. I know what happened between them, but I'm still hopeful they can try again. It's been over ten years now. I'm not overly happy that Cedar Fair chose Zamperla for TT2.

    • @ajhummel9187
      @ajhummel9187 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters Depending on how much work needs to be done, I wouldn't rule out Xcelerator reopening during Merry Farm, but once they finish the repairs it's going to take approximately four weeks to complete testing and training. If we don't see any cycling by the second or third week of November it's probably safe to say it's not coming back this year.

    the fact they’re starting a camp snoopy project when we have two of the top five coasters down makes me want to drive my head through a wall. I really didn’t want to renew my knotts pass in 2023.. but I did bc I went up to CGA. Knotts really needs to get it together. the 2028 olympics are approaching and there’s no way tourists are going to come to this park if it’s in this state. absolutely insane the most highly attended park in the chain went from 10 to SEVEN operating roller coasters. absolutely brain dead management.

    It blows my mind you weren’t even born when they had the rocket ride that you could control your axis with a joystick (XJ-15? or something like that) or the soap box racers. Those two rides were amazing! Also the nautical and the time machine (the latter for making out with your girlfriend). Funny story for Knotts scary farm in like 2003…I was with 3 of my friends and I was with one of my buddies on the dinosaur ride and the girls in the car ahead of us jumped out within the first 2 minutes of the ride (right after the first “time travel” sequence) and jumped in our car and we ended up hooking up randomly. It was so funny, luckily there was enough lighting in that areas to be able to tell the girls were pretty attractive.
    One other thing also, is we didn’t have to worry about them being fake “girl” and having an unpleasant surprise in which a MAN gets punched in the face for deception cause I don’t swing that way. It’s perfectly valid to get a hit in if a fake “woman” tried to hook up with you and you’re straight…ah better times when that was never a worry. I’d say I wouldn’t hit a woman but in their case they aren’t woman so it’s okay, they’re mentally ill men.

    Hi Drew. Thanks for all your updates. I am happy to be subscribed to both you and Dylan"s channels. I heard that Knott's is supposed to make an announcement tomorrow regarding their Camp Snoopy plans, but I am not 100% sure on that. I am hoping that if they do make an announcement on Camp Snoopy that they address the status of Montezooma's and Xcelerator. I have also been pretty disappointed in their lack of communication on the status of both those rides. My biggest worry is that they can't save Montezooma's and it ends up scrapped. That would be a huge loss to the park.

    While transparency would be great for visitors, they need to maintain their bottom line and a positive image, and keep their shareholders happy. That being said, maybe with the recent merger with Six Flags, they could move some of these rides to the other park locations? Will be interesting to see how everything pans out. Great video. @@IntaminFanGRLPowerCoasters unfortunately, putting an LSM launch on Xcelerator just isn't feasible/possible for a couple reasons. 1) LSM launches don't have the acceleration force that a hydraulic launch does. If they did change to an LSM, they'd have to do a shuttle launch with a spike like they're doing to Top Thrill Dragster, which leads to problem 2) they don't have the room to build a spike for that kind of launch.
