I used to be a ride operator at Knott's in Fiesta Village! I met my now fiance there, he was also a ride operator at Fiesta Village and Boardwalk. We've been together 20 years this August! Knott's will always hold a special place in my heart! ❤️ this video brought back so many memories!

It seems to me that Knotts is upping it's game quite effectively! As a California native, I can attest that Knotts in the 70's was awesome!! It was like walking through history, to this child's eyes anyway! 😁

@@OrdinaryAdventures In my 70's and I still remember when my parents would drive down "Beach Blvd' and drop me off with some cash at Knotts, while they drove to the beach and hung out (I was about 10). Then they would come find me and we would all eat dinner of Fried Chicken and boysenberry turnovers. P.S. Knott's Berry Farm was free, no entry fee...lol🥰
I remember when it was FREE to enter Knotts…just pay for a ride at a time back then. Who remembers the seals which you could feed? I miss the good old days!
@@heidi4132 yes.. we couldn't afford Disneyland so we went to Knott's for free and then had a picnic at the park near Independence Hall. We walked around Ghost Town and usually rode The Log Ride and sometimes did The Haunted Shack.❤
I know I’m gonna get a lot of hate for what I’m about to say, but Knotsberry farm is way better than Disneyland hands-down but that’s just my opinion all right please do not come after me for that comment LOL
I’m a former Knotts employee! I worked in entertainment Tech mixing sound for all the shows inside the park!!! Was quite fun

Sound techs there are great! They always mix my bands fantastically

@@betognz It started in Hollywood back in 1997 when I got hired to work in a recording studio and then I eventually learn how to mix live sound without going to school it’s not rocket science But it is an acquired skill to anybody with two ears can learn if they put their heart and mind to it and you can to👍

More parks need to do things like Ghost Town Alive.
Since Disney's Galactic Starcruiser is shutting down, hopefully they'll incorporate more of that immersion and interactive storytelling into the parks.

Bob Baker marionettes is a Los Angeles institution. They've had some hard times, and the people who are continuing to run it and their supporters have been keeping it afloat. I'm really glad Knott's has made a place for them.

When I was younger, I worked at Knott’s. Their food has always been great! The employee dining hall was always worth it, too.

I WAS A KID IN THE 1960’s and my grandparents and I used to go to Knotts berry farm every Saturday and have breakfast with Mr and Mrs Knotts, then at night when the wagonmasters would play at the wagon circle stage we’d sit in the wagon with them and listen to music. It was quite an experience.

Fiesta Village definitely had a ✨vibe✨. Also, just wanted to point out that your cinematography at the end was beautiful. The warmly-lit stage with the band in the background, and the silhouettes of people dancing in the foreground, whilst the camera moved smoothly across the dance floor, was so intriguing to watch!

My favorite was the burro ride. I am old enough to remember Knott’s pre-rollercoaster, just trains, ghost towns and cowboys 😊

Last October we had a family vacation in California, and I pretty much forced my family to visit the Knott’s chicken dinner restaurant, mainly because of videos like yours making me want to experience the place. Like, I almost had to drag them there. We got there late so we were pretty much the last people in the restaurant and we couldn’t really do much in terms of buying souvenirs or viewing much. My family absolutely fell in love with the place in that short time though. Now they want a full day in the park next time we visit.

I love Knott's. I go during Boysenberry days and my little baby plants has EXPLODED! It takes two years then look out.

As a kid i was obsessed with that ride. I wanted to go just for that.
go back farther, to when they were motorcycles.. I mean, yes, it was terrifyingly dangerous, but SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME! You know how the soap box racers leaned? it was the same track and same basic design, but you sat on top of "motorcycles" on bicycle seats instead of inside the cars..

Normally when theme parks try to represent other cultures it leans into caricature/stereotype territory... I'm only 15 minutes in but this seems to be pretty respectful and appreciative of Mexican culture!
They are trying. The old version wasn’t.

Thanks! Yeah the press party was only a couple hours long and we knew we couldn’t film a whole video in that time. We wanted to go back and get the full real experience and glad we did. We were there almost all day 😂

In the late 1950’s I loved Knott’s. There was no fence. And no admission fee. Me grandmother who was born in 1891 and was a real teacher in a real one room schoolhouse. This was in Kansas. Anyway during the 1950’s she worked for Knott’s as the teacher in the schoolhouse. It was a wonderful time. Mott’s miniatures . The glow-in-the-dark store, etc.
Would love to go back in time and see that version of knotts

I miss the Maranatha nights they used to have during the 70s. The bands were so amazing and could rock. The Way, Aslan, Wing & A Prayer, Parable, Good News, and so many solo artists too. If you wanted to ride, it was a great opportunity since the majority of people were there for the music.

The only thing that could make Knott's better would be if they brought back the "Dip Your Own Candles" place. One of the best memories ever was making my own candles. The store's smell was unique and such a warm memory from my childhood❤.

12:00…Me, too, Kitra! Epcot in the 80’s and early 90’s was just wonderful! I actually got to go to the Worlds Fairs in New Orleans in ‘84 and then Expo ‘86 in Vancouver (my dad was a big Worlds Fair fan as he met, courted and got engaged to my Mom when they both worked at the 1964/5 World Fair in Queens!)…I still love Epcot just as much now, but I truly miss Classic Epcot with all my heart!

During Peanuts Celebration we had the pulled pork on a cornbread funnel cake. It was unbelievable. Best thing I’ve ever eaten at Knott’s, including the boysenberry barbecue meatballs from Boysenberry Festival last year. I dearly wish they bring back the cornbread funnel cake.
